Enjoy a lovely scenic bus ride to the dock where you'll board the catamaran and begin your journey. Spend your 3 hours of leisure on the island lounging on the sand, playing beach games, exploring the island or receiving an introduction to Merengue dancing.
Your first stop on the catamaran cruise will be for a cocktail at the amazing 'Natural Pool' lagoon, famous for its abundance of starfish. Continue to Saona Island by speed boat for a barbeque lunch served buffet-style under the shade of palm trees. The rest of the day is up to you - spend a couple hours of leisure on Saona Island swimming, playing volleyball, Merengue dancing or simply relaxing with a drink in hand.

A stunning place to visit and going by catamaran was fun, but the trip was a bit too long and we got very hungry so make sure you bring some snacks. We didn't feel like we spent enough time at Sonoma Island but we did get to spend some time at a beautiful spot looking at star fish which was great.

We took a shuttle to a mall to catch a coach bus with others that were traveling to Saona. The bus brought us to Bayahibe beach which was roughly around a 45 minute drive. After arriving at the beautiful Bayahibe beach we loaded on a catamaran. We spent an hour on the catamaran drinking, dancing, and enjoying the beautiful scenery while basking in the sun.

This was an outstanding day and should absolutely be added to your itinerary. The two different boat rides each are fabulous. The speedboat driver was so fun, and he stopped for us to watch dolphins play. The island is stunning and a little taste of paradise. Sandbar/starfish amazing photo opportunities! _br/_ The only reason this is rated a 4, not a 5, is because of communication prior to the excursion. Our paperwork had a number for us to call and confirm our hotel pick-up. That took over 20 minutes and there was a huge language barrier and a lot of transferring of calls. We were told to be ready 10 minutes early for our 7am pick-up from the resort. To be safe, we got there at 6:40. We saw all the other hotel excursions leaving at 7, 7:15, 7:30... We then had the concierge call the numbers on our confirmation papers. The first was not yet open for business. The second was disconnected. The third finally answered and told us he'd be there in four minutes. He arrived almost 15 minutes later. Know that your pick-up may/may not be on time, and that there will be no text alert or communication about it. That was a frustrating was to start what ended up being a fabulous day. Some sort of text alert would make it so much less stressful.

Tour Guide was great and very knowledgeable of areas as we drove to our destination. Comfy bus, though no restroom. Food was okay, but I didn't have high expectations after reading reviews. Unfortunately we got rained out while on the island and had to take cover, but my thought, I was there to get wet anyway! I enjoyed the catamaran trip and did see A starfish.

GOOD: Starfish. Water is clear, warm, and soft sand in the water however, you have very little time with this activity._br/_ Saona Island is nice, and the lunch is good. Again, not much time at the island._br/_ Catamaran ride enjoyable and you can sit out on the front of the ship.

Had a great time start to finish. Tour leader_br/_ and #34;Adam and #34; was knowledgeable and funny. Catamaran_br/_ Cruise was the highlight ,music drinks and dancing with beautiful scenery to the island. Had a great lunch on the island. The beach was nice, water was a little cloudy, only negative. Had a wonderful time.

Excellent tour!! Prompt pick up from resort Majestic Colonial. The driver and tour guide were awesome! The highlights along the way were pointed out to us and local history was shared with us. We took the speed boat on the way out to the island and stopped to check out the starfish. The stop was just the perfect amount of time to search for the starfish and get loads of pictures. Then off to the island. It was so beautiful and clean. The beach was so white and the water so warm. Tons of deck chairs to lounge on and lots of time to walk the beach and back. The buffet lunch was delicious and so much to choose from. The BBQ chicken was great. There were local vendors selling cigars, jewelry and giving massages. Took the catamaran back with the music playing, the drinks flowing and everyone dancing!! Great trip. Highly recommend to anyone wanting to have a wonderful day trip we were a group of 5 girls. We got a quick stop at a mall on the way back to our resort and did some shopping. Bring a water bottle, your sunscreen, hat and towel and you're all set. Perfect day all around :

Picked up at hotel around 7.30am. Short bus ride to central meeting point where guests transferred onto larger coach. Total time to port around 1.5 hours from leaving hotel. Catamaran ride to island was great fun, the crew on board kept everyone entertained with their dancing and entertainment. Upon arrival at Island, buffet lunch was served. Have to say very impressed with quality of food and choices available. Have been on these types of tours before and normally food is rubbish, but on this occasion really good - so much so we went for seconds !! The island itself has stunning beach. Not much to do really except take in scenery. Local touts push to sell you cigars and other stuff. You just need to be polite but firm.

The catamaran was a fun but no music. If you get motion sickness then the speedboats are not for you. You take the speedboats back from the island and not the catamaran. The food at the beach was delicious. I did not appreciate the girl who was complaining the whole way home about this tour.

Very nice excursion, the tour guide did a great job, and the staff on the catamaran were excellent. The beach at Saona was exactly as advertised, with a very good meal included. The speed boat ride was fun for most, but my daughter did not enjoy it, the ride was too fast for her. But overall a most enjoyable day, good monitary value.

The Saona Island is beautiful and worth the trip. The Tour guide was obnoxious and kept yelling Undalay Undalay Hurry Hurry through the enitre trip. It was rush rush all day long only to get there for them to tell us to wait. There was not snorkeling equipment as we were told. There really was not any snorkeling because they are at the beach and the sand was to much to see anything. We thought this was a snorkeling trip. It is not. The crew served half the boat drinks and neglected the rest of the boat. If it were not for the beauty of the Island I would not of given it any stars.

LOVED this excursion! The morning catamaran ride to Saona Island was absolutely amazingggggg. Be ready to start taking shots of rum at 10 am though! The island was absolutely gorgeous! Right out of a book. We lazed around for 2.5 hours, eating and drinking then we took the speed boat to the natural pool which I could have stayed at all day long. Then back on the speed boat to head back home.

Our tour guide Francisco was very professional and knowledgeable. Our family enjoyed the whole excursion from the shuttle ride, speedboat ride, swimming in the natural swimming pool, exploring and relaxing on the island and the catamaran ride back to the mainland. Tour was good but the price you guys charged me was very high and you guys say you save with viator , you guys charged me 94.00US each and locally was at 70US each so cost me 48US extra from you i will never buy tickets from you guys.

It was a fun day, beautiful island, and even the bus travel to the coast was nice and I learned a lot about the Dominican Republic. Don and #39;t be prepared to be bowled over by the number of starfish though. We saw 2.

The company that was supposed to pick us up never showed up and had absolutely no answers as to why. We contacted them 2 days prior to the trip and arranged the location and time of pick up we arrived 20 minutes prior and stood there for 1hr while tour buses passed and ignored our presence. We even attempted to stop one of the buses from the same company to inquire if one was coming to no avail. One driver saw us, nodded kept the door shut and drove away. The pick up location was in front of a hotel on a busy street that is undergoing construction. Needless to say at 7:00am on a weekday there were 30 workers awaiting to begin their shift. Myself and particularly my significant other felt VERY uncomfortable with reason. We had planned this trip for months and anticipated making great memories, as it turned out it was the worst memory we have of the Dominican Republic thanks to this trip and transportation company! Extremely upset we wasted one travel day dealing with the headache that it caused.

I spoke with others that took this tour with separate companies. The island is gorgeous. The food is good._br/_ Draw back. Speed boats. You go out or back on a nice cat sailing. Then out or back on 2 separate speed boats crammed in like sardines on hard fiberglass seats. Other tours had a cat both ways.

The speed boat trip to star fish island was rough because of rough seas but still enjoyable. I thought when then photographer gave us starfish to hold for pictures that they were props but they were the real thing because we found several on our own and the kids loved it. The catamaran ride back was enjoyable with the crew getting up and dancing to get some onboard in the mood. Good time had by all.
