Reykjavik Sightseeing Tour plus Blue Lagoon Spa from Reykjavik

Reykjavik, Iceland

Combine two tours in one for the perfect Icelandic experience: See the highlights of Reykjavik in the morning, then spend the afternoon relaxing at the Blue Lagoon (Visitor pass and entrance fees included).

Make short stops at the following sights:

Bessastadir

Visit the presidential residence at Bessastadir built between 1761 and 1766 and home to Iceland's President. Visit the town of Hafnarfjordur, famous for having one of the largest settlements of elves, dwarfs and other mystical beings known as the "hidden folk". Here you will also visit the old fishing harbor and when possible, the famous fish market.

Perlan

In Reykjavik you'll go to restaurant Perlan, which is built on water tanks that hold the city's hot water supply. Here you can enjoy the spectacular view over Reykjavik and its surroundings.

Hofdi House

Explore Hofdi house where the all-important summit between President Ronald Reagan and Secretary General Mikhail Gorbachev took place in 1986. You will visit the Hallgrimskirkja church, one of the tallest structures in Iceland, the University area and the old town centre where the Icelandic parliament Althingi and the town hall are situated.

Laugardalur

End your morning with a tour of the sports and recreation area in Laugardalur, a geothermal heated outdoor swimming pool and sculptures crafted by Asmundur Sveinsson.

In the afternoon, travel to the famous Blue Lagoon for some well-earned relaxation. Once there you have many recreational options to choose from, such as walking in the Blue Lagoon's spectacular surroundings, bathing in the milky blue-green water, relaxing in a geothermal steam bath or releasing the stress from your shoulders under a Blue Lagoon waterfall.

Choose from a regular bathing experience (in price included) or indulge in one of the many spa treatments available. You are guaranteed to end your day feeling relaxed and refreshed!

Please note the Blue Lagoon will be closed from 5 Jan - 21 Jan, 2016

The Blue Lagoon was a wonderful relaxing experience for the afternoon. I liked having the option on my return time so I could spend as much or as little time as I wanted there. _br/_ The Reykjavik sightseeing tour I would opt out of. You can walk around the old town very easily and orient yourself.

Great ride in the morning but a bit short. Blue Lagoon was average. Great logistics for everything though.

Was great to have some history of Reykjavik and then to end the trip by soaking in the Blue Lagoon. A must to do while in Iceland. Our tour guide was informative and had a good sense of humor.

Everything was great up until the locker room glitch at the Blue Lagoon Spa. I guess the staff there thinks their guests will never forget which locker they used and its' location. Because on the men's locker rooms. Each room is identical to the next, including the adjoining hallways etc. So if you are unfortunate enough to forget which locker is yours and where it is. You are in BIG trouble, because the spa staff has no way of finding it for you. Your only option is to wander around until you get lucky and recall.....hmmm....this locker room kinda looks familiar. By chance, luck smiled on me that afternoon, and I spotted my NIKE sneakers on the shoe rack outside of a locker room. And I got the locker attendant to unlock my locker. I should mention also, the directions for electronically locking the locker with the plastic E-bracelet isn't clear. That's why I wasn't able to unlock it when I finally found it. I asked the attendant about this, and he told me, you have do this, and that before closing the locker door etc. If done incorrectly, the E-bracelet won't unlock it upon your return etc.

This is a great trip! With a limited stay in Iceland this tour gets you round the sights of Reykjavík simply and in comfort. We started at the harbour at daybreak. Visited Hallgrimskirkja church. The Presidents peninsula residence. Beautiful Perlan I chose to do this trip because we arrived by nightfall and I liked the idea of being picked up next morning and being shown around. I liked the combination of the Blue Lagoon trip after. It really worked for me. There is nothing quite like a local to guide you and tell you about local life as it is. I thoroughly recommend this tour. The service is timely and efficient, friendly and fun!

We were picked up in a minibus from our hotel, but taken to a central Gray Line location and put on a coach. The tour was in darkness for the first hour. We went to the President's house and the church, but you could not go into the church and whilst it was quite interesting to see where the President lived in the gloom, it did seem a bit of a waste of time when there is so much to see in Iceland. We then went to the Pearl and went to the viewing platform to take pictures across Reykjavic. After that we went to Hofdi House, where Reagan and Gorbachev met for a summit. Again, interesting, but you could not go inside, only look around outside. From there we went to the church at Hallgrimskirkja, which was worth seeing. We went inside and listened to music. After a while we were taken back to the main bus centre. We had assumed, wrongly, that this trip went directly from Reykjavic to the Blue Lagoon. In fact we went back to the main Gray Line depot in the coach and had to wait for 55 minutes for the next bus out to the Blue Lagoon. There is a café at the bus station. The Blue Lagoon, whilst more commercial than the other thermal pools, was enjoyable, and you are given wrist band so that you can order a drink whilst in the pool. Quite a striking sight driving into the facility, with the steam and the vivid blue pools round about. We opted for the basic entrance fee and took our own travel towels and flipflops. This was adequate. They provide shower/shampoo and conditioner in the showers for you. Lockers are unlocked with your wristband and no money is required for them. When you leave you hand in your wristband and pay for any drinks that you may have had. Only negative here was that it was a bit slow to get in and out of the facility and it wasn't overly busy, I think you would have had to queue for quite a while if it was.

Had to give it a three star as we were too tired to do the Blue Lagoon tour. Informative tour, however, of the city and its' history.

My guide was reading the relevant information off of a price of paper including the jokes. I was not aware that when I booked on the viator website that my tour was going to be with Grey line. The city tour was a separate tour and then you had to wait an hour in a bus depot to leave for the lagoon.

I think you have to participate the sightseeing if this is your first trip to Iceland. The Blue Lagoon was just wonderful even if you cant see your feet when looking down into the water.

Very efficient at each stop. Gorgeous surroundings as you drive to each location. It was a good way to see Reykjavik and get some time at the blue lagoon. You don and #39;t need all day at the blue lagoon so it was perfect to go for a few hours in the afternoon.

The city sightseeing trip was o.k.....but we had seen much of it on our own by walking around._br/_ The Blue Lagoon was interesting and a nice break from all the touring we had been doing for 2 1/2 weeks.....but.....it was pretty crowded and they charge 5 to rent a towel!

The sightseeing was o.k if you like buildings and history of an area. The blue lagoon was interesting but very commercialised. Would not go again to be honest.

Terrible experience. Missed us on the pickup although we were waiting in the hotel lobby. We had to flag down another Grayline bus which finally took us to the bus station. The and #34;tour and #34; of Reykjavik lasted under 2 hours and then waited 1 ½ hours for transport to Blue Lagoon. Worse tour ever!

Great tour around Reykjavik, it was a nice way to see the less centralized parts of the city and hear about the history. Our tour guide was very friendly and my husband and I had a very nice conversation with him. Blue Lagoon was also great! The staff there was very friendly and it was a relaxing way to spend our afternoon after touring around Reykjavik.

Viator uses a local tour operator for this tour. So you are picked up from your hotel in small mini-vans and brought to the Bus Terminus. Thereafter, you board the respective buses along with 50-60 other tourists. The Reykjavik sightseeing tour is half-day 9a.m -1p.m and they bring you back to the terminus again and leave in the afternoon for the Blue Lagoon._br/_ Everyone should go to the Blue Lagoon at least once! You should book at least a three weeks in advance earlier, in peak season to get your desired slots- it is better to book via tour companies so that your pickups are sorted and you have a better chance of getting the tickets. Don't forget to take your own towels and bathing suit as the rental ones are very expensive. If you want to dine in the ala carte restaurant at Blue Lagoon, then you ned to book in advance. Otherwise, if you go for the Luxury Option, the admission to the restaurant is included in the price of the ticket. If you want to take pictures, which I am sure you will do, either get a cheap waterproof camera or better still, get a waterproof sleeve for your cameraphone and you will get amazing clicks of yourself in the pool._br/_ The Reykjavik sightseeing tour is really nothing great and you are better off taking the hop-on hop-off bus for that.

This tour enabled us to see parts of Reykjavik which were more outlying and not within walking distance. As ever the tour guides were brilliant sharing their knowledge with us. Some amazing view points of the city. The blue lagoon element was fantastic- you require to pre-book anyway so this was a great way to do that. This is a must for anyone visiting Iceland- stunning.

the city part you can do yourself with a good map. Just go to the Blue Lagoon. The restaurant there is very good.

The sight seeing was not very good as we had already seen most of the town anyway just by walking around, didn and #39;t learn much really but the blue lagoon in the afternoon was great. It only gives you entry so we took our own towels and robes with us as heard it was expensive to hire them there.

The tour of Reykjavik is at a nice and leisurely pace - saw the highlights and parts of the city that I had not been or wasn't able to walk to. The real highlight is the Blue Lagoon - amazing!! Was there on a very cold day, so the first walk outside was a little brisk. But that is completely solved by getting into the warm water of the lagoon. Even if you don't take this tour, you should definitely find your way to Blue Lagoon!!

This was a great trip! Nice overview of Reykjavik as a whole. Only thing I would have liked more is if we could have stopped to take more photos. We drove past the place where Reagan and Gorbachev met to effectively end the cold war, but couldn't take a photo of it. Also the Olympic stadium where the US beat the Soviets in the World Wide Chess Match. Anyway, a great tour. The Blue Lagoon was amazing! Magical and warm. Loved the water, the silica mask, and the swim up bar. It was beautiful! A must see when in Iceland!

The Reykavik sightseeing portion was just a visit to four places which you can do on your own. The rest of the drive and the commentary was not really worth it, especially when you also have to do the pick-ups and drop-offs. It would be better to use the time to walk around the city center to which you can go to the church included in the tour, and have enough time to go up the tower. Now if you want the convenience to see the house where Reagan and Gorbachev ended the Cold War, the exterior of the President's house, and the views from the Perlan, then go book the morning tour.

Presidential Residence at Bessastadir is nice but not worth the five mins stayed against the time to get there. Perlan has great views over Reykjavík although some members of the tour were 20mins late returning to the bus so we waited and waited and waited waste of time. Didnt stop at Hofdi House drive by only - similarly a drive through of the University which is just a few non nondescript buildings. Drove past again not stopping one of the main attractions of the Harpa Concert Hall. Visited the Hallgrimskirkja Church stopped but not enough time to go up the tower with views better than the Pearlan and a visit to the old town centre again on the bus no stopping Also showed from a moving bus the outside of the sports area at Laugardalur which to be honest was just a journey to get back into the city from the Bus Depot out of town.

We enjoyed this tour. The sightseeing around Reykavik was excellent. Only problem was it was blowing a gale when we got to the lagoon. We still went in though. So did a lot of other people as well!!!!!!.I'm sure the lagoon would have been more enjoyable on a better day.

These were two different tours for one price. Our tour guide Ragna was such a friendly lady, full of information and always willing to answer questions. Having spent the day before walking around Reykavik this tour showed us places we had been unable to get to on foot, so it was definitely worth going on. One such place was The Pearl, which provided an excellent view of Reykavik from its panoramic viewing walkway gallery. Its cold up there so wrap up._br/_ Everybody I saw enjoyed the Blue Lagoon it was an amazing and different experience. The flexible departure times were extremely useful._br/_ If you have time then go to the Blue Lagoon, if you dont, make time! you wont regret or forget it. This is definitely a 5 place to visit.

Our tour guide was great and very funny. We were able to see a lot of the city and countryside. Our tour of the Blue Lagoon was cancelled for the day because the thermal waters were colder than normal so we joined the afternoon Golden Circle tour which was excellent.

This tour was very good. We got to see the highlights of Reykjavik with a knowledgeable guide. We stopped at several of the sights so we could experience them close up and take photos if we wanted to. Excellent! Blue Lagoon is something you don't want to miss. It is just so different from other sights !

This tour was AMAZING. Our guide was extremely personable, knowledgeable, and well spoken - and full of interesting facts! This was the perfect way to get a taste of Reykjavik in the morning, and get to experience the must-see Blue Lagoon in the afternoon. Bus pickup/dropoff were a breeze, too!

The tour guide was very nice but was perhaps not too experienced and was therefore a bit disorganized at the first stop. Because washroom stop intructions were not clear, a couple of visitors were left behind and we had to return to the last stop to pick them up. Overall it was a worthwhile tour that covers most of the major tourist spots.

You can better take a walk in the center of the town yourself.
