Combine two of Rio's most popular tours on a full-day excursion packed with breathtaking views. In the morning, you'll enjoy a panoramic city tour and have the opportunity to ride a cable car to the top of Sugar Loaf Mountain. After lunch, you'll travel through the Tijuca Rain Forest by cog train to the statue of Christ the Redeemer on top of Corcovado Mountain. This tour is an excellent option if your time in Rio de Janeiro is limited, giving you the best of Rio in one great day.
The morning tour starts with a panoramic tour of downtown Rio where you'll pass by the infamous Sambadrome, the exhibition area for the renowned Samba schools in Rio. A brief stop is made at the Metropolitan Cathedral, made famous for its unusual pyramid shape. Admire its beauty and rareness from both the outside and the inside!
Your panoramic city tour continues with a visit to the traditional Cinelandia Square where you'll tour the various historic buildings such as the Municipal Theater, the National Library and the National Museum of Fine Arts. Head towards the Urca neighborhood, where one of Rio's most iconic symbols is located, Sugar Loaf Mountain.
Traveling up Sugar Loaf mountain on a cable car, you'll make a brief stop at a vantage point at approximately 700 feet (215 meters) above sea level. Capture unparalleled panoramic views of the city, Guanabara Bay, the Rio-Niteroi Bridge and Corcovado Mountain. You'll then ascend to the peak of Sugar Loaf for breathtaking views of Copacabana Beach, the Santa Cruz Fortress and the beaches of Niteroi.
You'll then enjoy lunch (included in the price) at a local restaurant before starting the afternoon portion of the tour. After lunch, you'll pass through the Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas district (except on Sundays) on your way to the Cosme Velho train station. Enjoy a scenic cog train ride through the Tijuca rainforest up to the 125 foot (38 meter) iconic Christ Redeemer Statue. You'll spend approximately 45 minutes at the statue where you can capture once in a lifetime photo opportunities. After the train ride back down, you'll be dropped back off at your hotel.
A must do in Rio. Easy pick up from your hotel. Plenty of time to take in the views and take photographs. Tour guide changed over at lunchtime and both were excellent. Would recommend including lunch option as that in itself was a great experience. Stop at the market place was a bit edgy and I feel it would be good if, at the start of the tour there was a short talk on safety. We opted for a train tour to Corcovado and thought it was excellent.

This tour was great and long we chose the full day option. Sugar Loaf Mountain was fantastic and that first sight of Christ the Redeemer is breathtaking. There are two things I would change: the pick up was late. We were told we would be picked up at 8am, but it was after 9am. Second, included in this tour is an unnecessary 10 minute stop at the St Sebastian cathedral. It doesnt really fit in with the theme of the rest of the tour and was rushed. Otherwise, great tour and the lunch in Ipanema was fantastic!

I do not want to recommend this trip to anyone else. The organization of this tour is not so bad. And the guide were so kind, sincere and enthusiastic to explain many things. However, they are so old to meet and satisfy the request of some people including me. You had better use Uber than this tour.

We booked a tour through Gray Line Tours on our weekend trip to Rio de Janeiro. The tour took us to Corcovado Mountain, Christ the Redeemer and Sugar Loaf Mountain. I really enjoyed this tour, because it allowed us to see several city highlights all in one day. I enjoyed being able to meet other travelers, and was glad we were encouraged to sit together at lunch, which made the tour seem more inclusive.

The tour was OK. We probably used more time than what was necessary. We had lunch in a brazilian steakhouse. The food and the service were good and the restrooms were clean. The main atractions were OK. The weather was not the best, so we didn't have the oportunity to fully enjoy the view from the Corcovado and Christ Redeemer. Overall it was a nice day in Rio.

This tour was great. Everything was timely as expected. First we visited the Sugar Loaf Mountain. The views were amazing! We experience a minor delay as one in the group was left behind on our way back. We were able to try some Caipirina but it was very expensive there compared to other places were my husband had some. From here we were off to a buffet lunch and after lunch it was off to the Christ Redeemer. The morning weather was great but by the time we arrived to the top of the mountain, it was very cloudy and the views were not as great. The train ride up the mountain was kind of interesting. This tour is definitely a must while in Rio. I liked the coordination and the fact that everything was taken care of.

This a pretty intense all-day tour. You'll be on a couple of different buses, the cable cars on Sugarloaf and tram up to Corcovado. The super crowded lunch buffet was a bit frustrating but the selection of food comprehensive. There is a lot going on at all times so pay attention to your guide who may disappear from time to time, also to fellow tour people who may be paying better attention. Remember your bus as there will be many other similar ones. Communication from the guides was lax and they were out of sight due to the huge crowds. I THINK THEY SHOULD CARRY DISTINCT FLAGS TO HELP PEOPLE KEEP TRACK OF THEM. All in all a FANTASTIC tour bundle!!!

This is might be a good way two see these two beautiful attractions in one long day and without waiting in line too long to go on the lifts and train. _br/_ We were also driven through parts of the old town, stopped at the main cathedral 20 minutes and brief stops at the Sambadrome and the Macarana stadium for pictures._br/_ This tour includes lunch. We were taken to Norte Grill the Centro location. It was almost chaotic in there-at least 3 additional tour buses were there plus the local patrons. This is buffet style. We stood in long lines to select the food which was OK but nothing outstanding. The various types of meat, except for the sausages, were tough and not the best quality. We were not told that the desserts weren't included. We knew about the drinks being extra and they were promptly delivered to our table which was one long row accommodating a least 30 people per row and very little space between seats. This restaurant was not a good experience and not appropriate for the cost of this tour. We stayed there over two hours. People were impatience and were told that we were making time and waiting because our appointment at Christ the Redeemer was a 4pm. This company needs to consider using another restaurant and making this tour shorter. Everything that we did could have been done in less than 10 hours. Their tour guides were fine and helpful.

Although we did enjoy this tour and our morning tour guide Yedi we did feel that it could be done much better. To start it isn't really a ten hour tour...over 90 minutes was spent picking up guests from their various hotel locations where we would often sit for 5 to 10 minutes waiting for the guests. Perhaps a central location that the guests would all make their way to would be more efficient. At the end of the day dropping guests to their hotels is not as time consuming as there would be no waiting.

My hotel was offering the same trip for 60 dollars cheaper. I must have spent 2 hours waiting on the bus for hotel pick-ups and drop-offs.-not a very efficient way to spend time. The tour guide to corcovada hardly gave us any information at all._br/_ I thought booking through tripadvisor would mean value-not so.

I was disappointed in the tour. In the end, I felt I would have been better off just taking a taxing on my own to Sugar Loaf Mountain and Christ the Redeemer rather than taking this tour. I don't think the tour guides added much and the other stops / audio guide did not justify taking this tour recognizing the challenges of constantly having to wait for others who trailed behind the group and did not meet up at the agreed assigned times as well as the additional time spent going to numerous hotels to pick-up/drop-off individuals.

We had a wonderful day seeing all the 'must see' sites. We really enjoyed our two different guides, Maria Fatima in the morning and Yeda in the afternoon. We had a variety of people of different languages and had a commentary with a headpiece. The guides were very good English speakers when we had questions and I loved asking questions!!!_br/_ Our lunch was at a steakhouse that was fabulous. The salads were wonderful and I could fill up on them and then came the meats! So many meats to choose from. So delicious!! I believe it was called Carretao Classic Grill! Food you will recognize! _br/_ My only grips are not with Viator. The number of people they put on the cable cars up to Sugar Loaf Mountain are ridiculous. No pictures going up, not so bad going down. _br/_ This is not a good tour if you're looking for a way to see the city. It does drive through but the only way to see the city is walking but I need some direction! _br/_ So, Viator, get a city tour for the little gems that shouldn't be missed!!!

1. poor experience. no explanation on tour. guide was of limited help. referred me to the audio tour provided. _br/_ 2. lunch/ food was great. _br/_ 3. cursory visit/ explanation at Cathedral and arts district. _br/_ 4. pick up and drop off points were not convenient. bus did not drop me off at same pickup point. I had to take a taxi for upto 1 hr and 40 mins back to hotel. _br/_ way overpriced. disappointed in tour. expected better from a viator tour.
