You will have a brief kayaking and paddling demonstration before heading into the water, so don’t worry if you are a beginner – you will still have a fantastic time.

Experience the exhilaration of steering yourself as you plunge down the light rapids of the Layou River – Dominica’s longest – in your two-person, sit-on, state-of-the-art kayak.

Your well-trained guides will be available the whole time to lead you through this adventure. Stop at various times to enjoy the natural scenery while paddling down the river. You’ll have a few minutes to paddle around on your own before your entrance to the fishing village of Layou and the warm, calm water of the Caribbean Sea. Layou is picturesque – fishing boats back from early-morning expeditions line the shore. You’ll have a chance to cool off on a swim where the river meets the sea.

A short paddle back up will take you to your exit point, where a deserved and complimentary local rum punch and fresh fruit will be served. Then sample local food prepared for you by the community.
