I give 1 star for the travel and 3 for the actual tour part. The air conditioning wasn't working well in the van and my husband and I were crammed in the last row of seats. Very hot and uncomfortable. Could not here the guide most of the time. The shopping was ok, the food ok but was hoping for more history of the city and less touristy stuff.

We really enjoyed our half day trip to Tijuana. _br/_ We had already visited several Mexican ports on a cruise, so we wanted to visit Tijuana to compare the city to the coastal areas we had visited. It was very, very different! There is nothing picturesque about Tijuana - it is an urban sprawl, and it is a stark contrast to the beautiful San Diego which is just over the border, a mere 20 km away. _br/_ Our driver was very good, and he offered some commentary, and answered questions during the trip. The bus was very modern and comfortable with ample space for the five passengers on board._br/_ We enjoyed a light meal in a Mexican restaurant in Tijuana and our driver then took us to a leathergoods shop the prices were great and a liquor store where we were able to taste and purchase various Tequilas. We were then free to wander the street and shop on our own for a couple of hours. We found the prices of handicrafts and clothing etc to be on par with the other places we had already visited in Mexico._br/_ The border crossing was quick and easy on the way over but a bit longer on the way back. It was very interesting for us though, as we had never experienced a border crossing before._br/_ Overall, I would recommend this trip to anyone who has never experienced Mexico. It's a fun afternoon and an easy trip from San Diego.

We had such a wonderful time. Juan, our guide was amazing. He took terrific care of us and was funny and helpful whenever needed. I would recommend highly, especially if you have Juan as your guide. Would do again in a heartbeat.

It was a interesting trip! We had a true experience with our guide, the locals, buying tequila, eating lunch in a nice authentic Mexican and listening to Mariachis!!! I though we just expend to much time in the Tequila store waiting for everyone to finish shopping.

The original driver was replaced with a substitute who arrived late 30 minutes. Skipped a lot of things because of lack of time. Just eating tacos and spending 45 minutes in the middle of town was no fun at all. She our driver cum guide was extremely nice and helpful overall, however! As whole Viator ripped us all off with this over promised tour!

We were greeted nicely at the station to guide us where we need to start. We were skeptical to go in Tijuana on our own, so we choose to take this trip so we will feel at ease. The tour guides are very knowledgeable on their own hometown, they pretty much speaks English and Spanish. Our guides gave us good tips and reminders all the time. If you would like to go to Tijuana for a short time, they have good eateries and places to shop. I would recommend this trip to anyone but make sure to be very careful around the area and keep your eyes on your valuables.

The tour guide was knowledgeable. The shopping portion was guided and most time was spent in a leather shop. I would have preferred an area on one street that had a assortment of local craftspeople such as those we rushed through on the way to historic spots. As it was none of the stores we were directed to held any interest for me. This tour was the low spot on my trip to San Diego.

This trip is waist of your 65 dollars, I think the only thing that was positive about the trip is the decreased time it took to get over the boarder. Our tour guide and van driver were very pleasant. The guide did not tell us a lot about the history he took us to get tequila shots and to a resturant for free taco's which was the worse thing I have ever tasted. He showed us were we could shop for about 1 1/2 hours than back on the bus and home. Tijuana is nice in the area he took us to an I felt very safe, I was by myself on this trip but if I had my husband with me I would not have paid the money. It can be done with your own car, the only deterrent will be the time you spend at the boarder.

We travel 20.07.2017_br/_ Pick up was late, they send UBER driver to pick up us from Hotel, after few calls._br/_ Departure was also delayed.Visit , shopping catastrophy._br/_ We visited Tequila shop , and eated two cheap tacos._br/_ In stead of 5 hours visit it was three hours running in city. from 15hrs to 18 hrs_br/_ Crossing border on way back takes 1 hour._br/_ Arrival from Mexico on bus station no any service from agency, no drop off!_br/_ Driver speaking Spanglish is difficult to communicate._br/_ We have been oblige to organize way back /taxi to hotel on our expenses._br/_ It seems that they organizing pick on and f......k off in stead of pick on and drop off._br/_ Be carefull , this guys sale nice trip on papers but reality is night mare!_br/_ No wrothy time and money._br/_ Mary, Sandra and Fabjanko

The driver knows his way around the town and knows which lane to drive in to get there faster. But my friend and I were expecting more when we were at Tijuana. It was just the stretch of the street we can explore and there wasn't much time to explore. It got dark quickly and if you happen to go make sure you know where he wants you to meet back. Although the street is one street pretty much you are exploring, all the stores sell the same stuff. Everything looks similar the store front, the items and if you are there the first time you might be confused trying to get back. One of the people from the group didn't get back on time. The good thing was he got his cell phone turn on so the driver was able to call him. He was lost and didn't know where to get back to meet with the group back. I am not sure what the drive would have done if the person phone wasn't on and we couldn't find him. Overall, the driver was nice and friendly.

Juan is an amazing tour guide! We took relatives who live in San Diego with us and they could not believe how much they learned from Juan. Juan will take you to the safe and secure areas of Tijuana to the best deals in the city for things such as leather goods, liquor, restaurants, t-shirt shops etc. Juan will stay with your group and walk your from store to store or let you move on your own with his expert guidance of where to go and where not to go. Juan will also surprise you with his musical talents! Five Star tours provided excellent service, clean vehicles and prompt service, right on time! This tour is fun, a great value and if your lucky enough to get Juan, its a guranteed great time!
