San Francisco, United States of America

Skip the line as you visit the California Academy of Sciences - the only place on the planet with an aquarium, a planetarium, a natural history museum and a 4-story rainforest all under one roof! As this is your pre-paid ticket, you will skip all the massive ticket buying lines. And to make it as easy as possible, this ticket includes instant access, meaning you don't have to go to a separate kiosk to redeem your voucher — just present it right at the California Academy of Science's entrance and be on your way.

Filled with hundreds of exhibits and thousands of animals, the California Academy of Sciences has something for everyone to enjoy. Ideal for a family day out, prepare to be amazed and taught about the planet's diversity and biology.

Start your journey with a lift off from planet Earth and take a jaw-dropping ride to the far reaches of the universe at the Morrison Planetarium, the largest all-digital planetarium in the world. Then explore the colorful world of the ocean at the Steinhart Aquarium, home to 38,000 live animals from around the world. A diver will descend into the tank and introduce you to the world's deepest living coral reef exhibit, featuring more than 900 separate species!

Don't forget to stop by and greet Pierre, Howard, Ocio and the rest of the African Penguin colony. Marine biologists will answer your questions while feeding and caring for them. After meeting the albino alligator and his swamp companions, you may find yourself fascinated with the swamp world. Join in on the Swamp Talk and you'll learn about what it takes to care for these amazing creatures, natives to swamps in the southeastern United States.

Enter the 4-story living rainforest contained within a spectacular 90-foot diameter glass dome. It's the largest spherical rainforest exhibit in the world and is home to 1,600 live animals, including free-flying birds and butterflies, exotic reptiles and bats. Don't leave without a visit to the Kimball Natural History Museum that focuses on the evolution and maintenance of life on Earth, drawing on the Academy's 150 years of research!

A wonderful museum full of interesting exhibits. We spent several hours there and were never bored. We particularly liked the eco dome and the planetarium show and the earthquake experience.

We went early in the morning on a quiet day, no real queues and plenty of space to look and enjoy the wide variety of exhibitions. Favourites included Claude the albino alligator, the aquarium and the shake house in the Earthquake exhibition. I'm giving it four stars though because as it reached midday, it did get much busier and it became a bit trickier to enjoy time when everyone around wanted to see same thing. The restaurant was confusing with multiple queues for different food counters, drinks kept in a different place and another queue for cashiers, some of whom didn't take cash payments. I mention this just for advice on planning when to go and best to bring a packed lunch to enjoy in garden.

Review by:   Alex S,    June 2017 Review: 2 star rating: It was OK, but could have been better
In general it was ok, but... statement skip the line is NOT true. First when we came we stood in line to get in, but they said they cannot let me in because I need print out of tickets. So we had to wait in another line, wait for tickets to be printed and then go again in other line to show those tickets to eventually get in. So i really didn't see any advantage using Viator. And the worse of all employees of academy of sciensces were saying to viator not to tell skip the line but they still do, so it looks like they lie to people just to get more customers

Review by:   Maureen,    June 2017 Review: 1 star rating: I do not recommend this
The Academy itself was amazing, so worthwhile and no problems there. It was the Skip the Line component. There was no Skip the Line, I couldn't get my ticket to scan and the entry staff said they hadn't heard of this offer. Had to queue at ticket box same as everyone else. Don't offer what can't be delivered.

There was no such thing as skip the line. I still had to get in line and obtain a ticket after presenting my Viator printout. Viator should advise that they are not anything to do with California Academy of Science that Viator is simply a third party. My experience with Viator was horrible. I should have purchased admission for myself and my 4 year old grandson directly from California Academy of Sciences. The exhibits were fantastic and Eduardo from California Academy of Science was wonderful, sympathetic and very helpful considering the mess Viator caused me. I was on the phone with Viator for 40 minutes, on hold listening to violin music then I heard a couple of clicks and someone from California Academy of Sciences had me re-explain what had taken place. I am thankful Eduardo got involved since no one from Viator even tried to call me back after they dropped me from hold. A total nightmare just trying to buy two admissions via the internet with the hope of skipping the lines for a one day admission.

The California Academy of Science was enjoyable. We seen them feeding the Penguin which they talked about what they feed them and other interesting things. The rain forest was need they had butterflies flying all around. There was other interesting things to see there also. _br/_ The only complaint is that skip the line, we still had to get in the ticket line because they would not accept the voucher we had.

This is a great way to skip the line for tickets, though when we went there wasn't a line, and you still have to wait in a shorter line to exchange the voucher at member services.

Review by:   Richard C,    May 2017 Review: 1 star rating: I do not recommend this
It was a horrible experience! first they won't allow you to skip the line, then they will let you queue to a long line to confirm your tickets, next they don't recognize the vouchers by viator so they will ask you to send them the email confirmation of viator so they could print the tickets... it would have been much easier to go there and purchase the ticket at site as the price is just the same...

Review by:   Claire P,    May 2017 Review: 2 star rating: It was OK, but could have been better
It was ok but not as good as we expected. The aquarium was not as good as led to believe and we had such a short time in SF and I would have preferred to use this day in a different way._br/_ The ticket is also misleading as I bought it as a 'skip the line' ticket and still had to stand in the line to get a ticket from the gate before we could get in the doors.

Review by:   Lori B,    April 2017 Review: 1 star rating: I do not recommend this
I would not choose this tour again. We did the skip the line so we wouldn't have to wait in the line. When we arrived, we went straight to the door and waited in that line which was much shorter. As we were waiting, a busload of people came and got in the regular line. When we got to the front of the line at the door, they refused our entry and made us go and get into the regular line. So then we waited in THAT line. After we got to the front they reissued our tickets and so we went and got into the door line again. We were not impressed at all. My recomendation is to skip the Skip the Line tickets and just go get in line.

Skip the Line: California Academy of Sciences General Admission Ticket--This is misleading. You do not skip the line. You will NOT be admitted with this voucher. Please proceed to the ticket counter and they will issue you a ticket and then you may proceed to the entrance where a nice lady will scan your ticket. I didn't check what the prices were at the counter so can't comment on the prices. The activity itself was great. We spent about 5 hours there, but only because we were waiting for the penguin feeding. Parking is very expensive in the paid parking lot but worth it if you have little children and can't spend half the day looking for curbside parking and then lugging your family up a hill to the Academy of Sciences.

Really amazing -- so many different things to see and do. The shake shack as my daughter calls it was the best because it gave you a real feel for the earthquake pun intended. My husband's favorite was the biosphere and mine was the planetarium!!

Lots and lots to see here. Better than most similar museums/aquariums because of the wide variety of exhibits to see and how things are displayed. For example, you can see a 20 foot aquarium from the usual underwater level as well as from above water. Cafe was reasonably priced and surprisingly efficient. It wasn't super busy when we went mid-week during summer and there wasn't much line to buy tickets or get in, so the skip the line wasn't critical. E-ticket worked without a hitch.

Not efficient in getting to see exhibits through all the people. Planetarium unusual at having most of the dome in front of you instead of around you--I fell asleep during the presentation. The entire building was overly warm. There was very little guidance into and about the exhibits. There was over simplification of exhibits and very few of them. Gift shop was very crowded with very small aisles and very many people and the star of the shop the albino snake was not present.

Well worth it to get the skip in line pass. We walked right in,while the other lines to get tix were extremely long. Aquarium level is great, my daughter enjoyed this one better than Peir 39 aquarium. It's a good museum, but trying to find a spot to sit for lunch is as bad as Ghiradelli.

This was my first visit to the Academy of Science despite being a Bay Area native for 25 years. The reason I bought the ticket was because of the T-Rex just inside the lobby and I had realized that I've never seen a dinosaur fossil in person before. I was also very interested in visiting the rainforest exhibit and didn't look too much into it beyond that. My fiance and I were treated to a wonderfully warm experience with dozens of birds and butterflies and all manner of non-native plant life. On top of that, we were treated to an Aquarium that was so much better than Pier 39s. I didn't even know it was there until we took the elevator down! The species in this place are MASSIVE. Your jaw will drop with awe when you see these sea creature who must be hundreds and hundreds of years old. It is almost as if you are taking a step back in time. And the interactive panels for all of the displays was a very nice touch.

The Ca Academy of Sciences is amazing. There is so much to see and do. We spent hours there and still didn't even come close to seeing everything. My only complaint about buying my ticket through this site is that you cannot skip the line. You still have to go to customer service or the ticket booth and get tickets. The staff member told us they have told Viator that many times and they still haven't changed it on the website.

The Academy of Sciences was wonderful and will worth seeing everything. I would highly recommend it to anyone of any age. However, I had called to add our granddaughter to our reservations and had payed for her ticket adult price when we got there our tickets were fine but they wouldn't honor our granddaughters ticket so I had to pay for her again 29

This was a great way to spend a half day with my 13-year-old son. The aquarium is pretty cool. I like how they have isolated exhibits of individual fish and other creatures. Don't miss the planetarium and the new movie. The dome screen is awesome --makes you feel like you're flying!

This museum is great for kids of all ages. One mess up is you do have to exchange your voucher for tickets even though it says you don't. Also we didn't really skip the line since there was a line of people with tickets.
