Angkor Temples Small-Group Tour

Siem Reap, Cambodia

Discover the mysteries of Angkor on this full-day, small-group temples tour from Siem Reap. See the iconic Angkor Wat and the enigmatic faces of Bayon temple. Wander around Ta Prohm, where the trees are intertwined among the ruins, and enjoy a traditional lunch at Sras Srang -- the Royal Baths. This is a perfect tour for those who want to see the highlights of the Angkor temples in one day.

On this full-day tour from Siem Reap, you’ll be awestruck by the grandeur of the temples of the Angkor region. You’ll visit Angkor Wat, the masterpiece of the Khmer empire with a vast moat and reflection pools. Wander through the galleries and admire the large bas-reliefs (carvings) depicting scenes of the Hindu epic, the Ramayana.

At the Bayon, be captivated by the temple’s smiling stone faces, radiating in all directions from the towers above. Discover the ancient history of the war between the Khmer and Cham from the detailed bas-reliefs that are interspersed with everyday life scenes like cockfighting, shopping at the market and childbirth.

Travel through the South Gate of Angkor Thom, where 54 gods and demons line the road in a cosmic tug of war, then enjoy a local lunch near Sras Srang.

Finish the day with a stop at the picturesque Ta Prohm, where Apsaras peek out from doorways and tree roots are laced around the ruins, creating a magical atmosphere.

This tour was OK but not up to par with other viator tours I have experienced. I thought the tour operator was a bit disorganized. Received a message that they would be arriving at hotel before 8AM which is kind of vague. Was in the lobby at 7AM and waited. They showed up a little after 8AM and we spent well over an hour picking up other passengers. After stopping for tickets we arrived at Angkor Wat. It was very crowded. We then drove quite a distance to get lunch in the village. Obviously, someone the operator was giving the business which happens. Food was very good but it took a lot of time. Then spent the afternoon at two other Temples. Having been to the Temples before I thought they chose temples that were very similar. There is much more variety but it is a good sampling. We then returned to our hotels. This tour was a little over four hours at the Temples with a lot of unnecessary driving. Time management could have been better but it was an opportunity to see this wonderful place again. If I had it to do it over I would have hired a guide at the hotel for about the same price and with a more robust itinerary.

Great tour, covered the main temples we really wanted to see nicely, and at a good pace. With many tours, theres often the obligatory stop off at a shop/store, etc., but not here which I greatly appreciated.

Very educational. Make sure you wear shoes that are very comfortable as there is a lot of climbing and walking. Bring lots of water to stay hydrated as well.

This was a fantastic tour and so glad we opted to have a minibus to transport us across the various different sites within Angkor Wat. Our tour guide Sokhom was fantastic. Would highly recommend and worth every penny.

Our trip was wonderful! Yes it was tiring and having awful knees--it WAS challenging at times. Our ex-monk, Chansee was incredible though! He was informative, attentive and super professional. He really had a knack of letting us roam when we should and corral us when we needed to be together. We saw and experienced so much! The authentic Cambodian mral was WAY over-the-top for the amount of food we were given. Highly recommended!

Great package to cover the major temples at Angkor, including Angkor Wat, Bayon temples with giant faces on towers and Ta Prohm Tomb Raider temple. Our guide Sokhom speaks decent English, and is very helpful and knowledgeable. Our group started behind time because we had eleven people not exactly a small group, and the bus went around picking people at different hotels and some even turned up late. Nevertheless, Sokhom stuck to the itinerary and ensured that the group gets to see all the temples on itinerary in detail.

The guide, Vang Vanara Juan is the way he pronounced it , was excellent. The group was truly small, only 8 people. He stayed constantly in view of everyone so that it was impossible for anyone to get lost in the very large mass of tourists. He explained each point of view before we reached it so that you knew what to expect and then filled in all the details and answered the many questions in very good English before moving on to the next one. This temple is HUGE!!! and I highly recommend that anyone use his service for the first time that you visit Angkor Wat or you might never find the exit when you get lost in it. _br/_ He picked us up right on time and did not mind how long the tour ran over with all the questions that were posed to him.Everyone was brought back to their hotels as promised. A very professionally run tour._br/_ This was the best tour that I have ever experienced in all of my travels and would highly recommend taking it with him. I would give him a 10 star rating if I could.

Our guide was knowledgeable about the temples but also about Cambodian history and filled our day with interesting facts, funny tidbits, and personal stories. We got a fantastic lunch at a local restaurant far away from the tourist venues that was authentic and delicious. I never would have know about this place without Chansip since it was so far off the beaten path. This was absolutely the best and I would highly recommend Chansip and Viator for visiting the temples!

Excellent tour, with good english-speaking tour guide Mr. Mao. Timely pick-up at hotel and ended at about 4:30pm. Very good value considering the one-day ticket to the temple sites alone costs 37. Visited the major temples in a group of only 4. The only disappointing thing is that lunch was at a really really local restaurant with a squat toilet - if you don't mind that, would highly recommend. Otherwise, everything else met expectations.

Started in the morning, guide was more then an hour late, takes long time to get someone on the phone. Guide was very quiet when we are driving, then when we are onsite he explain all background info so we're loosing a lot of time, this can happen before, so we are always short on time and in the end he was on a hurry, before the temple close. The guide prefer also to call the day before all guest are back in the Hotels. For me the overall impression was wasting of time and money. the second day I rent a Tuk-Tuk less money more flexibility and more time for viewing, was a better choice.

This tour was the best!! Out tour guide Dee was PHENOMONAL and she did an amazing job. Hi Dee! She took us to four amazing temples, explained the history along the way, and knew all the best photo ops. Lunch was a real treat in an authentic Cambodian restaurant. Highly recommend!!

This tour was great. Our tour guide was very informative and helpful, he would even draw maps in the sand to show the overall layout of the temples. The tour was very small too which was wonderful, it was just me and one couple.

pick up was ok, almost in a reasonable time. had to then get off to buy the tickets at the entrance, would have made more sense for the ticket to have been bought and the price added to the tour._br/_ Did a couple of the usual temples- the tour guide was not informative. was ease dropping on other tours and had far better info. _br/_ not the worse tour i have been on but would go with someone else if i had the opportunity again

Great tour with our guide Sohkom to see Angkor Wat, Bayon and Ta Prohm in a day. Sohkom managed to keep us away from the larger tour groups which helped provide great photo opportunities. The lunch meal was absolutely delicious and sohkom had us eating some local delicacies. Sohkom provided great insight and knowledge of the temples and also some in depth knowledge of the history of Cambodia. Would highly recommend doing this tour.

This temple tour was a lot of fun and the tour guide, Dee was excellent! She is a local Cambodian, but her English was superb and her energy was perfect for an 8-hour tour. She taught us a lot about the Cambodian culture over lunch and I actually found that more interesting than the temples themselves. One recommendation I would have is for lunch to possibly be earlier (right after Angkor wat) or to mention on the website what time to expect lunch. I would have had a heavier breakfast or brought snacks had I known lunch wouldn't be until almost 1:30pm. Most of the people in the group were rather hungry and fatigued by the time we had lunch. Overall, great tour though and I highly recommend!!

This tour is great. Dee our guide was very knowledgable and helpful throughout the tour. She introduced us to Cambodian traditional foods over lunch. Things we would never have tried if not for her passion to take the time to give us the opportunity. Make sure you wear your comfy shoes, a lot of walking and stairs. Well worth it though. My entire family enjoyed this tour. It was long, but totally worth it. We took a cruise in Singapore, and we decided to visit Angkor Wat afterwards, and we are so glad that we did. This Viator tour was exactly what we needed to see the highlights in a very limited schedule.

Angkor Wat itself was everything I expected it to be and more. The weather was perfect that day and we were able to see the sites without and discomfort that would have been the case if it had rained which it did the day after My issue is with the Tour. The reviews were great so I paid 100 per person which is quite a lot in Cambodia expecting a quality tour that Viator has provided me in the past. The tour, Urban Tours, with guide Kim was terrible. He was nice. But that did not make him a good tour guide. His grasp of the language was very poor compare to other guides I saw and heard around us. There were no ear phones or whispers so it was hard to hear him in that huge complex. He was sporadic in his explanations and did not do justice to the history of this incredible place. He only answered questions only when we pointed and asked - for the most part if we did not keep up with him and he was a fast walker we missed whatever little he said. I would stand next to a different guide to get more information and I realized we missed out on a lot !! After going all the way to see Angkor Wat I felt cheated that I only saw this amazing structure and very little of the stories behind all those incredible monuments. Also, the van was not clean. Not worth the money I paid AT ALL. Will not recommend. Or ask for a different tour team. However, Cambodia with its warm people, amazing history and Angkor Wat, is truly worth a visit.

I have a concern with the way Viators operates. If you are booking one person on a tour, your price automatically doubles - most times._br/_ The explanation given, was that they cater for in the event that you end up being the only person for this tour, they need to cover their cost. Ok, I get that, what I do not understand however, is why after they'e charged you that supplement, and the tour is booked by many other singles and couples, my single supplement is not reduced? I paid a single supplement and it turns out that ths tour had at least about 5 of us. Rip off? Yes, indeed. _br/_ Now for the tour...this was the highlight of my stay in Siem Reap and am glad I did it. I however felt the Temples were a sad state of affair and other that the fact that they were such an ancient marvel, they completely lacked any spiritual aspect to it...it smelled dank, it was gloomy and dark almost scary...so much more can be done to lend a spiriual aspect to it, even if it is just sections of it, even if it is just an altar area to reflect the glorious days it had would have been refreshing...

we jumped our cruise ship to see Angkor temples. It was nice experience to see the people in the city. The guide was very much concern about my wife's health and did all that he could to make it an enjoyable visit. We learned a lot about the people and their lives.

This tour with Urban Adventures had been unforgettable. If possible, ask for Seavathdy! She picked me up in an air conditioned car for the day, and I was lucky to have her all to myself. We went to Angkor Wat first, which she knew all the best photo locations away from the crowd. She was knowledgeable in relevant history and had excellent story telling skills in English and Spanish. We also went to visit the Temple of Bayon as well as Ruins of Ta Prohm. We even went off-tour a bit to photograph local macaque colonies.

I really liked this tour it was a long day though. The group was only my husband, a solo traveler and myself. We got to see plenty of Angkor Wat and the temples surrounding it. The lunch was ok as well. The restaurant and bathrooms were clean-ish good enough for where we were. Driver was super great and the tour guide was nice and informative as well.

Saw Angkor Wat, the walled city of Angkor Thom, Bayon and Ta Prohm, the latter being a particular favourite. Thanks to our guide Vanny for an exemplary job of explaining everything that we saw, very knowledgeable.

Vantha was a great tour guide. He speaks proper and understandable English. The tour was worth it! He made sure that we don't miss any information about the history of the place. He also brought us to an extra temple before they dropped our group off to our hotels. Great tour guide and service. The bus had cool air conditioning.
