Raffles Hotel Singapore Half-Day Tour

Singapore, Singapore

Retrace the colonial history of Singapore on a jam-packed half-day tour. Highlighting the influence of Sir Stamford Raffles, the 4.5-hour afternoon tour takes in Singapore's elegant Raffles Hotel and Raffles Landing Site. You'll indulge in an afternoon tea buffet at the Raffles Hotel's renowned Tiffin Room or enjoy afternoon tea of tea and cake at a traditional Chinese bakery. You'll then take a cruise along the Singapore River to Clarke Quay.

Sir Stamford Raffles played an enormous role in Singapore's history, founding a British colony here in 1819. His vision for Singapore's future came true, and Singapore became a vital international port and trading center for the Far East. You'll retrace the course of Sir Stamford Raffles' dream on your Raffles Hotel Singapore tour, visiting the site where Raffles first set foot in 1819. The highlight, of course, is visiting the center of high-society colonial Singapore, the stylish Raffles Hotel.

The river cruise by bumboat, the traditional vessels that ferried cargo up and down the river in times gone by, is another highlight of your Raffles Hotel Singapore tour. Today your bumboat will steer you along the historic Singapore River, past colonial buildings, Chinese shop houses and the modern skyscrapers of Singapore's business district. The cruise ends at Clarke Quay, a riverside festival village.

Raffles was definitely on our to do list being of such historic relevance in Singapore. Even the Singapore Sling lived up to the hype. The buffet afternoon High Tea was definitely a highlight and worth the spend. Plenty to eat and there is no rush to leave. Wonderful.

We arrived in Singapore at 10.00 am and were picked up by coach to a central area at 13.30. The guide directed us to the coach which would be taking us to Raffles. Great guide pointing out and informing us along the way. We then went on a Bumboat and the landmarks where shown from a different angle, great experience. Onto Raffles where we had afternoon tea in the Tiffany room, presentation was as you would expect, with additional heated food available from the buffet, together with 3 types of scones and as much jam and cream you required. Tea and Coffee was plentiful. Additional cold teas were also available. The only additional cost was the Singapore Sling which was a must, was it great, but of course, drinking a cocktail where it had been invented, the atmosphere, soak it up and go and explore. Raffles Hotel will be celebrating 130 years opened in l887 it certainly well worth a visit together with the afternoon tea and the Singapore Sling

Great afternoon trip with a great mixture. The boat cruise was very interesting and a pleasant way to see the many sights on the shores of Singapore. Raffles Hotel High Tea was the best I have ever been too. You don't want to miss it...

Very good trip and well organised although slightly rushed in parts _br/_ Shame that the Raffles had long bar closed for refurb, the afternoon tea was very good.

Lovely afternoon tea although waiting staff not very attentive. Weather spoilt the boat trip as we had thunderstorms so had to dash from one place to the other. The Long Bar was closed for redecoration so only opportunity was to have the Singapore sling with afternoon tea

Make sure men in your party wear long pants. It doesn't seem to matter if they are jeans or suit pants and partnered with a t-shirt or sneakers, as long as they are long. The tour left from Chinatown and started with a bum boat ride from Clarke Quay with the guide Siva pointing out historic buildings and telling a colourful story of old Singapore. After a short walk around some of the older buildings, we arrived by bus at Raffles Hotel, which, despite its three-storey height, is very imposing. As we were part of a tour group we sat with other people from our tour which was nice to meet new people. The food at the high tea was plentiful and service was prompt. Champagne and Singapore Slings are extra about S26 a glass. The gift shop is very nice as well but there are a lot of people about. We left the tour after high tea and walked to the Singapore FLyer, about 10 minutes away.

Excellent tour. Our guide was very informative and changed the order of the tour so that we got the best out of it because of the weather. Afternoon tea in Raffles was everything you'd imagine it to be. I can certainly recommend the Singapore Sling in the Bar with the crushed peanut shells on the floor. Would definitely recommend and use again.

We had the loveliest time with this tour. Our tour guide Linda Chan was excellent. We had lost faith in interesting tour guides until Linda amused us with her funny quips and amusing stories. Our pick up was on time and we met in China Town before starting our tour. There was a short tour of some areas on Singapore before heading to Raffles where we had a fabulous High Tea and a chance to look around and explore the Hotel. We loved our trip and High Tea experience - made even better by Linda as our Tour Guide.

Good tour, went for cake at Raffles rather than afternoon tea as we had a tour with lunch and were going on the night safari with dinner later. With hindsight should have gone for the tea but we still had a full tour including the long bar although as a non drinker the Singapore sling at 22 was not considered a worth while investment.

Picked up at hotel by small minibus taken to central point where we had to join a larger group on a big bus ,not what we expected my wife picked up from hotel in minibus taken to central point where we had to join a big bus my wife had sandals on which showed her feet told to go to nearby shop and buy some different shoes, not very fashionable but she borrowed my socks ,no problem now, another lady bought new shoes and became crippled and had to change back soon as we had been to raffles, high tea very nice but like being on conveyer belt everybody queuing to go in when we came out more queues to replace us but l suppose that's how it is ,had to have a Singapore sling in the long bar ok ,continued on to river trip in bumboat this was very good and informative .Big bus took us back to our hotel

Booked this tour prior to leaving the UK, downloaded the voucher and hoped all would go to plan. We were picked up from the hotel lobby as arranged albeit it a few minutes latter than arranged due to traffic in the city. We were taken to the meeting point and the joined our assigned tour. We were taken to Clarkes Quay for the bumboat tour first. Whilst on the boat we were shown a video giving details of how Singapore has developed over the years. After the river tour we rejoined our coach and were taken to the Raffles Hotel to enjoy afternoon tea in the Tiffin Room.

A good tour - enjoyed the boat trip and the chance to walk around some of the older buildings and be given the history of the area. It was nice to have high tea at Raffles but we felt the whole experience at the hotel was very touristy and the service in the Tiffin Room was not as wonderful as we expected although the food was good. It was also disappointing not to be able to go in the Long Room as it was closed. Lots of renovations are going on in the hotel to update it. Overall an enjoyable half day.

The tour and boat cruise were very enjoyable, and the high tea at Raffles was delicious. A buffet was also included, so there was plenty of food. Table service was excellent. Singapore Slings were very expensive, but all part of the experience. Unfortunately the Long Bar was closed for renovations, so we didn't see it.

Wonderful tour, highly recommend, very good value for money. Tour guide excellent, 'bum boat' ride was great showing off the Marina Bay Sands and Merlion. Raffles, just beautiful. We all loved the experience.

This was most enjoyable, due to weather conditions our guide changed the itinerary by giving us the boat ride first, This was a good move since once we got to Raffles there was no rush!! After getting off the boat we walked across a bridge and saw the statue of Raffles and then by bus to Raffles Hotel. Since we got there a little after 3 there was no queue which was another plus. I was seated with another 2 singles and we had a wonderful experience. Champagne or Singapore Sling was offered for an extra cost. I opted for champagne. We spent over 2 hours sitting and enjoying our tea while a lady was playing the harp. Dress well as this is Raffles after all!!

This tour was definitely well worth doing. We loved being spoiled at Raffles with the divine high tea. We also added a Singapore Sling to our experience. The boat trip around the Bay was wonderful - just the right length of time. I would highly recommend this tour.

Tour guide was not the best, difficult to hear. Afternoon tea was lovely however a bit rushed and no one explained there was a hot buffet available! Toilets at Raffles were a bit smelly and plenty of ants around. If going on the boat cruise up the river sit on the left hand side as you board its a much better view.

We had an amazing guide for the day. She was very knowledgeable about the areas and buildings we were travelling through and past as well as The Raffles. She made sure that we had plenty of photos and spoiled me for my birthday by arranging a card signed by some of the other people on our tour as well as my family and some of the staff from The Raffles. She also sang happy birthday tome in both Chinese and English. Was a wonderful tour.

Excellent tour, trip along the Singapore river to see some of the sights followed by high tea at Raffles. High tea in the Tiffin room, great selection of sandwiches cakes to eat at your table and then choose from the buffet selection as well.

I love high tea and Raffles knows how it's done! The weather was very warm while there, and tea offering was both hot and iced. Typical British scones, finger sandwiches and tea cakes were served. And to my surprise, there was also an Asian food table with excellent dim sum selections. This 'Singapore tea was an unexpected delight.

Such a great way to see the special moments of Raffles . . . the bum boat ride was good but the high tea at Raffles was beyond superb. The food, tea, location and the extra glasses of champagne we bought made it such a treat. The guide was great as she rearranged the tour to suit the weather and was full of such interesting information. Highly recommend

I enjoyed the tour very much. It was very interesting learning about Stamford Raffles and his contribution to Singapore. High tea at Raffles Hotel was wonderful. The Tiffin Room is beautiful and the service was excellent. The food was really good and we had plenty of time to enjoy all of it. The boat trip was a great way to finish the tour. Highly recommended.

This tour met all expectations providing a good overview of Singapore's Raffles history and retracing Raffles' footsteps at the Raffles Landing Site. The hotel is just fabulous, abounding with the opulence from a bygone colonial era. We had sufficient time to enjoy a Singapore Sling at the famous Long Bar before enjoying an amazing afternoon tea at the Raffles Hotel's famous Tiffin Room. The bumboat cruise along the river was both enjoyable and informative. This tour is recommended.

We enjoy the food was perfectly presented and it tasted nice the only problem we expect more different a types of food. we expect have some history about the hotel. The guide was quite rude because we were just two minutes late at the restaurant. If he had been showing us around we wouldn and #39;t got lost

Lovely tour guide, High tea, not the best high tea I have ever had, but being in the atmosphere of Raffles made it all worth while, it was still delicious, just not the best I have ever had. The experience was marred somewhat by being moved from a table with some new friends, to a table of total strangers, to even up numbers. The joys of travelling solo !! The river cruise was pleasant and informative. A lovely afternoon !!
