Singapore Round-Island Tour with Changi Prison, Kranji War Memorial and Bright Hill Temple

Singapore, Singapore

Retrace Singapore's WWII history with this round-island tour that will take you to Changi Chapel and Museum and Kranji War Memorial. Explore both sites with your guide to discover the small details of the lives of POWs that were imprisoned in Changi and the countless men and women who bravely defended Singapore against the Japanese invasion. Admire the intricate architecture of the structures of Bright Hill Temple. Your tour includes hotel pickup and drop-off and lunch at a local restaurant.

Start with a leisurely morning stroll along Singapore’s highest pedestrian bridge, Henderson Waves, and take in the lush greenery of Mount Faber and Telok Blangah Hill.

Continue west to Haw Par Villa, embark on an unforgettable journey into Chinese folklore and mythology at this park. Journey north to the Kranji War Memorial to pay respects to the countless World War II heroes. Unveiled in 1957, the memorial commemorates over 20,000 men and women who gave their lives for freedom in World War II.

Lunch at a local restaurant before proceeding Singapore's Bright Hill Temple, famous for its Chinese crematorium and well-stocked turtle pond. Follow your guide on an exploration of the grounds and marvel at the intricate architectural details of the structures and the beautifully landscaped gardens.

Cross from the North-Central to Eastern Singapore to make our last stop at Changi Chapel and Museum to gain an insight into the memories and lives of both POWs and civilian internees who survived the Japanese Occupation. The Changi Chapel is a symbolic replica of the original chapel found in the Changi Prison.

At the end of your tour, be dropped off back at your hotel.

The tour was amazing. It included so much more than the places outlined in the itinerary. Our guide, Foo, was wonderful. He was so full of knowledge about the places we visited, and about Singapore as a whole. He really made the whole day enjoyable. Lunch was included and it was up there with being one of the best meals I had in Singapore!!

A lot of history and somber moments as you reflect on the history of Singapore - especially during the second world war. Trip was well worth its cost and day went by very quickly.

good day 1 tour to introduce you to the city. The tour guide was knowledgeable and explained a lot about the history and culture. We did it on our last day, so I did get to see a lot of areas I hadn't gotten to. Not a lot of time at each site. Recommend for folks who just want to see the city

Wonderful tour although we would have preferred more information and sights that referred to the Changi prisoners.

A first rate tour, very informative, was unaware how much more there was to see outside the central district. The war memorial site was very moving and the lunch was very good. So pleased we did this tour and would strongly recommend it

This tour was excellent, the Kranji War Memorial was really special to see, with all the graves of past soldiers. The Changi War Museum was rather special as well with all stories of locals and servcice men, very well done. It was good to see places away from the city and all the suburbs!!!! and different parts of the island.

I enjoyed the trip and the commentary was really good. My only disappointment was the fact the Bright hill temple was actually quite new. I would have preferred to see something older.

We enjoyed this tour, especially the Kranji War Memorial and Changi Museum. Could have left out the concrete Chinese park as a bit gross and tacky. Lunch very nice in lovely setting. Recommend this tour if you're interested in the 2nd World War impact on Singapore.

This trip got us out of the city area and out to other parts of the island we would not otherwise have seen. The Haw Par Villa gave an amazing insight into Chinese spiritual beliefs and the Changi Prison and Kranji War Memorials were quite moving. Our knowledgeable guide provided interesting commentary as we made our way around the island. A trip worth doing and great value.

This was a very well paced day and included a great mix of things to see. Starting with a trip up to Mt Faber to view the Wave bridge, we then went to Haw Par Tiger Balm gardens. Lunch at Sebawang Park was quite good and then it was on to Kanji War Memorial. Bright Hill buddhist temple was next amazing! and then lastly, Changi Memorial Chapel/Museum. Our guide was very knowledgable about life in Sungapore during WWII.

Thoroughly enjoyed this tour. Our tour guide Joseph was very knowledgeable as we kicked off through the streets of Singapore heading to the Henderson Wave Bridge. Great view. Then to the Haw Par Villa where the colour and sculptures in the Tiger Balm gardens blew us away. From here the Kranji War Graves and on to a very nice lunch. Then it was off to Bright Hill Temple which has the largest Buddha I have ever seen. So much gold. Final stop was the Changi Chapel and Museum which really showed that war is so sad._br/_ In all, a most interesting and well conducted tour and one I would recommend to any visitor to Singapore.

Our tour guide Joseph did not start the day well with the group, as he was very rude and abusive, he made us feel like naughty children no one was game to take a step out of place all day. However in saying this Joseph was very informative and filled us with so much history on Singapore, he knew his stuff. The information was greatly appreciated by the group. Lunch was also very nice. The places in which we visited were also very good.

Do not do if you have mobility issues of any kind!!_br/_ This is an excellent tour for the physically fit as there is a LOT of walking which was not advertised. It is NOT any good for the mobility impaired even it you have a wheel chair. There is a lot of getting on and off the bus walking up very steep inclines and over a bridge. _br/_ The destinations on this tour were great Lunch was wonderful and the guide was great. Thanks Maggie!

Title should be changed to Replica of Changi Prison chapel and museum it is deceiving, Bright hill temple was substituted for another. Old Tiger balm gardens re-named to Haw Par Villa still old and shabby and waste of time, Henderson bridge ok but you can not really see much seen better our tour giude was very good and friendly.

The name of this tour is slightly misleading. We expected to see a prison cell at Changi prison similar to other prison tours I and #39;ve taken in other countries, however, we only saw the museum and chapel which are small and outside the prison grounds.

We were collected from our hotel in small mini bus to the staging area, all went smoothly to get on large bus. Tour leader very knowledgable and quite funny, very open about Singaporean customs etc. He was definitely a highlight_br/_ Tour itself was OK, however more time at Changi church would have been better. The Chinese lunch provided was quite good with second plates of additional food coming out, no one complained._br/_ They provided water bottles at low 1 cost which was smart as well.

The ride across the city of Singapore was really great. One gets to see a different side of Singapore and cross model townships and apartmments which could be a challenge doing it alone or in a taxi.A bit of history was great.I would definitely recommend this tour. The stop over for lunch is in an unique place overlooking Malaysia Islands just beside the bay.

A thoroughly good day out with an excellent guide who had so much knowledge at his fingertips. The only criticism would be that we didn't have enough time at some of the stops - everything felt a little rushed but there was a lot to cover in the day and approximately 130kms to drive in the coach. A very good overview of life in Singapore and is especially recommended for those who have very little time in this small island.

There was a lot of hanging about before we got started but it was an excellent tour and the guide told us a lot about daily life in Singapore as well as the war time history. Visiting Kranji and Changi not enough time there couldn't fail to be a moving experience for anyone aware of the wartime events. _br/_ The lunch at a historic restaurant was also good.

We thoroughly enjoyed our tour on Round- Island Tour with Changi Prison, Kranji War Memorial and Bright Hill Temple. Our guide was excellent, giving us interesting information on each stop as well as WWII events in Singapore. We also had an enjoyable lunch at a lovely restaurant, saw the causeway to Malaysia and a stop to enjoy the views of Singapore. The Changi Prison was very moving with stories from prisoners and made us realise how hard their conditions were. The Kranji War Memorial was a fitting memorial to all those who lost their lives in Singapore. Well worth visiting these sites with such an informative guide.

This is a great tour, excellent value and well organised. The only problem we had was the tour guide appeared to be very knowledgeable but we had difficulty understanding what he was saying. Would still recommend the tour.

Excellent tour The tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and assisted a member of my group to find the details of a family member lost in WW2, at Kranji War Memorial. We had hoped to find reference to this but with his help had located the relative within minutes, a very emotional experience. The tour also visited Sambawang to take lunch which was a wonderful surprise for me as I was able to see places where my family lived and told stories of but I had no recollection of, due to my very young age. My family group believe this to be a highly recommended tour and we have some wonderful memories which link us to our past.
