Folklore Show \'Feel Yourself Russian\' with Russian Buffet Dinner

Folklore Show 'Feel Yourself Russian' with Russian Buffet Dinner

St. Petersburg, Russian Federation

The evening begins in the Nikolaevsky Palace restaurant where you will discover traditional Russian dance and music during an elegant reception.

There is no doubt; without the folk show "Feel yourself Russian" your visit to Russia wouldn't be complete. This show is the unique opportunity to experience the history, spirit and traditions of Russia throughout one evening.

The show starts with the dance group "Reverance", the beautiful ladies in their crinolines and the elegant cavalier, accompanied by the "Peters Quartet", a vocal quartet performing classical folk songs, lyrical romances and Russian Orthodox hymns. It is followed by a Cossack song and dance company "Maidan", formed in 1992 by the honored artist V. Drachev. The skillful group reproduces on stage Cossack songs and dances in their original form. The dancers of "Petersburg Stars" have their own repertoire including: lyrical dances of the Russian North, dances of the Cossacks from the Don and Voronezh and dancing miniatures of the Urals and Siberia.

The show consists in two parts of 45 minutes each and lasts one and a half hours in total. In the intermission, refreshments will be served. Enjoy a buffet table of fruit, canapés with red caviar, ham, Russian-style Salami, cheeses, Russian vodka, champagne, red wine, mineral water, juice and soft drinks. During the interval, classical quartet will perform alongside with the dancers in crinolines.

I highly recommend this show. It was wonderful. My husband really loved it too and he hates shows.

Unfortunately we were the victims of jet lag and had to skip this. I suggest you don't book it on the night you arrive.

Nice performance, however the term Buffet Dinner is misleading, it was more close to a Sample Refreshment.

A great show! Maybe Russian Buffet Dinner is not correct....it is more a Cocktail, Reception with Finger Foods....There was enough to eat and drink.

The show was so so. We were given a wrong time, 30 min late. And when we get there, it took the office 20 min to figure out our order. So we missed a good part of the show.

Really good show. Just a small buffet in the interval but enjoyable. Champagne and vodka too!

I had to wait for approx 15 minutes on the stairs in front of the ticket office's closed door. When my turn eventually came, I handed my voucher to the lady there and she said my booking is not listed. Not until I insisted did she make a phone call to someone and then said nothing to me, but handed me a ticket. I asked her to which way will the performance will be held, because for me the venue seemed so grand. With an indifferent look she replied, "I don't understand." That's funny, because she had been speaking English with me. What didn't she understand?

Not to be missed. read about previous comments about the poor buffe. At least on the day we went there was enough food for everyone.

This was definitely one of the highlights of our visit. Just loved the whole experience. The dancers were just amazing and I would recommend it anytime. The buffet dinner is not really a dinner, but rather just some finger snacks, but we were there for the show, not really to eat, so did not mind at all.

The show was great and funny, however, the snack was too simple and not enough for those visitors standing around the table. We need to seek something to fill our stomach after the show.

The show was good although a bit touristy. The Russian Buffet dinner turned out to be some fruit and canapés and the price if buy it at the entrance is much much lower! (1300 rubles)

the show was quite good and performance entertaining. i would not called it "Russian Buffet Dinner" more a small selection of canapes and snacks. we had early dinner and were not expecting to eat there so no disappointment there. finding the place took a while.

We paid extra for a pick up and drop off and the driver just didn't turn up, fortunately the hotel was able to get us there on time and we were reimbursed for the pick up that didn't happen. The Folklore show was very good and well worth seeing but the dinner was hardly a dinner. Some plates of canapés that went very quickly and champagne to drink, no soft drink available. So you will definitely need a dinner afterwards!!_br/_ The pick up back to the hotel went well.

The folklore show was excellent, but we haven't seen anything of the buffet. There is not time enough to enjoy the buffet. The group is also far to big te eat in 20 minutes. Ar the start of the show there is not a program of the show handed out and you cannot hear or understand the lady who announces the show. If you want to leave the building after the show there is only 1 rotating door that is opened. There is another rotating door and a normal double door, but they were all closed. It seems to me that this is very dangerous in case of an emergency or a fire in the building. The carpets on the floors and stairways were very poor and worn out. That goes for the hall and toilets too. In total the show was excellent but the way it is organized needs a lot of improvement.

Really enjoyed this evening show!! The dancing and singing was great and it was a bit of fun at the same time. The nibbles in the interval was a nice touch also, although the bread was a wee bit stale! The only problem I would say was that we were told that the show started at 19.00 but when we arrived at 18.40, thinking that we were early, the show had already started!! So that was quite annoying as we would have come earlier to make sure we got a better seat. Otherwise a fun evening and located in a beautiful palace.

Very good show. Food provided a little disappointing

The show was entertaining...but I think Buffet Dinner is a major exaggeration. There was wine and vodka and a few appetizers. We were expecting an actual meal not just two or three crackers with salami or caviar on them. Within 5 minutes all the food was gone along with all of the non-alcoholic beverages.

The show is good and worth to go but the "buffet dinner" is only a refreshment break with snack and wines.

If you wish to be surrounded by busloads of Asian and American tourists...go for it. The show itself was great but absolutely make sure you eat before you go as the "buffet dinner" is only canapes served with champagne. Definately not what we expected and way to expensive for what you get.

We are giving this 4 Stars because of the Wonderfully Talented and Diversified Cast and the Magnificence of the Palace. The Buffet was a few very thin 1" x 1" pieces of bread with very thin ham / cheese / sausage / caviar, Hardly anything to feed the hundreds of people at the theatre. They did give you Champagne as you entered the building and again with wine , soft drink during the "Buffet Meal" Section. We didn't eat before we went after reading the "Buffet Meal" at intermission, and we each were able to get three very thin pieces that left us so very hungry. So, We say, eat before you go, and thoroughly enjoy the talented performers / costumes and have the champagne.

A very exciting performance by the dancers and musicians and an enjoyable buffet consisiting of canapes with champagne, vodka, and soft drinks. However, the grand staircase may prove difficult for some people and there was no lift available. The pre-booked private car transfers were a very good idea as there were no taxis nearby.

This show is somewhat tacky and touristy. Not a great venue you struggle to see anything, and too many tour groups and rude tourists. We did not walk away from there feeling entertained.
