We flew to St. Petersburg for a day during a week-long trip to Moscow for the World Cup. Our tour guide, Dasha, was very competent and knew her history. She also spoke perfect English, which was very helpful. We did the all day tour which included Church of the Savior on Spilled Blood, lunch and ended at the Hermitage Museum. There was a lot of walking, but we were driven to each location by minivan. The Hermitage Museum is huge, like the Louvre, so there is a lot to see in just a few hours. My only complaint was that we did not get dropped off at our pick up location (across from the airport), but instead had to take a taxi back to the airport. With the World Cup traffic (there was a game in St. Petersburg that day) and a sudden downpour, we barely made it back to the airport in time for our return flight to Moscow. Other than that small inconvenience, the tour was very informative and covered all the sites one would want to see while visiting St. Petersburg.

We booked this amazing excursion on Viator in Saint Petersburg on the 26th of December 2017. It was absolutely fantastic! Our guide Julia picked us up at our hotel in a comfortable minivan on time. She made it possible for us to see almost all the main attractions in St Petersburg in the short time available to us. We had lunch at the most charming little restaurant with lovely food typical of the region. Julia was a fountain of knowledge and enjoyed the day immensely. She spoke English perfect. I would 100 recommend this trip.

If you are short on time in St Petersburg and are after a comprehensive tour of this stunning city, we can't recommend this tour enough. _br/_ Our guide Lida was incredibly informative and provided excellent commentary throughout all of the places we visited. Lida even took us on a little detour to visit the Church of St Nicholas Naval Cathedral which had its daily service on when we visited we were silent! and we were blown away by the beauty of the cathedral as well as the choir that sang during service. Possibly one of the better tours we have ever attended.

So this one day tour suited the needs of our small group of six and it made sure we understood some of the highlights of this wonderful city. Our guide was Lyda from Maria tours and she was absolutely first class and so knowledgable and very patient in imparting that explanation. The first part of the tour is via minibus with stops on the way. The latter part of the tour is conducting on foot but its not arduous. The lunch stop is in a very nice restaurant with a very enjoyable 3 course format. All of the entry fees are included in the rice and the guide facilitates these on the parties entry.

My guide Julia was sweet but she thought my tour was of St Issacs only. I informed her otherwise so after a 1/2 hour tour we drove quickly from here there and lots of sites were pointed out. She was knowledgeable but I assumed we'd see a few sites in detail. So this was 120 for 21/2 hours. The day before I had an excellent tour of the Hermitage which was thoroughly enjoyable and informative, 3 hours and cost 60 . Thought I was short changed a bit in The Grand Tour

We got the whole day and all inclusive option. Our guide spoke multiple languages as well as us, so we communicated very good. The guide was young, a student, spoke soft and at time hard to hear. The tour is a perfect way to get an idea of the main attractions and then come back to the ones that interest most. It is a quick moving tour, be ready to walk fast to make the most. The last part, the Hermitage. The fact not having to stand in the line, it pays the tour alone. The Hermitage visit is the last of the tour so we were able to stay in for more time.

We had a good experience in St. Petersburg. We chose the complete day tour, with lunch included. The guide picked us up at the Peter Hotel, which is centrally located. She was a little late, so we got anxious. Tried to call the office, nobody picked up. She arrived after a few minutes, and we started the tour in a minivan. St. Petersburg is a beautiful city, with stunning churches and palaces. We specially loved the Church of the Savior on Spilled Blood and St. Isaac's Cathedral. Seeing the tombs of the tsars at the Peter and Paul Cathedral was also very interesting. We ate lunch , which was simple but good. Soup. salad, chicken and rice, ice cream for dessert. Very nicely decorated little restaurant. After that there was no more transportation. If you have problems walking it wasn't a problem for us, it's not ideal, as we had to walk quite a bit and fast to the Hermitage Museum. The Hermitage Museum, former palace of the tsars, is a beautiful building. There are important works of art there, such as 2 Leonardo da Vinci's madonnas, paintings by Raphael, Canaletto and many more. We had to cut the tour a little short to leave for a ballet presentation at the Mariinsky Theater. The guide ordered an official taxi for us and waited until we caught it. Lydia, our guide, was professional, knowlegeable and funny. There was nobody else with our family group of 4, so it worked as a private tour.

This was a great way to see the main sites of St. Petersburg. Elena, our tour guide, met me at the front door of my hotel around 10 minutes prior to the scheduled pickup, and a comfortable van then took us to meet the other 4 people in our group, staying a few blocks away. We drove first to the Fortress of St. Peter and Paul, and then on to tour several of the main cathedrals and other sites. Elena also guided us to a shop with very high quality jewelry and marushka dolls - a bit pricey but much better than the stuff found in the shops along Nevsky Forum. After lunch we had a guided tour of the Hermitage. Elena provided extensive knowledge of the history and life in current day St. Petersburg. We even had an insightful discussion of Russian vs. Western attitudes towards autistic children. I greatly appreciated this inside view of the city in a small group where we could ask all sorts of questions. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone wanting an introduction to the city.

Don't bother to book. Too short. Only one admission included to Peter and Paul Fortress. Better use metro/tube for transportation. All good sites are near the stations. Metro is extremely cheap.

I booked a private full day tour of St Petersburg. My guide Ekatarine was very knowledgeable and provided plenty of information about the history of this city and threw in interesting anecdotes and jokes here and there. We were driven in a comfortable car between each landmark which was very convenient. The sites included the St Peter and Paul fortress, stunning Church on the Spilled Blood and St Isaac's Cathedral and ridiculously opulent Hermitage. It was all very well oranised with plenty of time to take pictures and have a short rest. This tour also involved delicious Russian style lunch. Highly recommended to individuals who prefer sightseeing in unrushed and luxurious manner.

Elena was a great tour guide however when I booked I had requested a car for 2 people which I thought mean't we would be the only people on the tour. Elena said that 2 additional people booked after us. However they were picked up first and so got the forward facing seats in the van so we didn't get to look at the buildings etc. from the car as couldn't see out the window properly. We also didn't go to the waxworks as mentioned on our tour description.
