Blue Mountains Deluxe Small Group Eco Tour from Sydney

Sydney, Australia

Head for the hills and experience the natural beauty of the Blue Mountains on this small group day trip from Sydney. Travel on a complete loop of the World Heritage listed Blue Mountains and see many hidden locations away from all other tourists. This unique small group tour offers the most amazing experience to the Blue Mountains National Park. You'll also come face to face with native Australian animals, such as kangaroos, Tasmanian devils, wombats and as well as a massive variety of birds and reptiles. Choose to upgrade your experience at Featherdale Wildlife Park and enjoy a continental breakfast with the koalas.

The first stop on your Blue Mountains Eco tour is Featherdale Wildlife Park. You'll arrive at the park before any other tourists and have the opportunity to get up close to the animals, stroke a koala and hand feed kangaroos, wallabies and emus. If you have chosen to upgrade to the breakfast with koalas you'll enjoy a continental breakfast as the animal handler allows you to get up close and personal with a Koala and other animals.

Departing from Featherdale, we commence our drive to the Blue Mountains via the highway. You will visit one of a range of stunning outlooks over the Jamison Valley to take in the spectacular views. Where possible this will be away from the crowds of tours that visit the mountains each day, thus guests will enjoy a stress free experience taking in the views and information imparted by your guide.

Next, arrive at Eaglehawk Lookout, a remote lookout point away from the crowds for views of the famous 3 Sisters. The character of the Three Sisters changes throughout the day and throughout the seasons as the sunlight brings out the magnificent colors. Here your guide will discuss the legends behind this famous rock formation and time available for you to take some great photo’s.

After Eaglehawk Lookout, travel around the mountain to the village of Blackheath and our lunch venue the Hydro Majestic located in Blackheath. Here enjoy a 2 course lunch food only. All diets are catered for. Beverages can be purchased at your own expense from the Bar.

This afternoon is spent visiting a selection of lookouts. Once you clap your eyes on the view from Govetts Leap you’ll know why it’s one of the most famous lookouts in Australia. The magnificent waterfall drops a whopping 180m to the base of the cliff.

The last stop is at the delightful Mt Tomah Botanic Gardens where we stop to enjoy the sweeping views across to Sydney before travelling down the Bells Line of Road to arrive back at your hotel approximately 4.30 - 5.00pm.

The weather was the a washout with the mountains being essentially shrouded in clouds but our guide, Clint, with his insightful commentary, saved the ride and the other sites were thoroughly enjoyable. Loved the Featherdale Wildlife especially and the lunch which was quite good.

Our trip to the Blue mountains started off with the morning being very foggy. Our first stop was at Featherdale Wildlife Park. We were to have breakfast with the koalas, but that had been canceled. In place of that they gave us a 25 photo opportunity with a koala, which I would rather of had. The park was great. Then we headed into the mountains but was so foggy we couldn't see anything. Our guide Lindsey was great. He took us to great place for lunch, the sun had come out and the views were spectacular. After lunch he took us on the other side of mountains where we had some champagne and some more beautiful views. Was a good day. I would definitely recommend this trip

Guide was very good, and shared lots of interesting information - although we later learned of factual errors in some of what he said. But a small quibble... Trip was beautiful, and we really enjoyed the Featherdale Wildlife Park. We arrived right at opening, which made for a great experience. A lot fitted into the day, which was great. If possible, however, we really recommend spending a night in the mountains. One couple in our group took the day trip up one day and another day trip back the second day. They raved about what they'd seen, and we wished we'd been able to do this. But for a compact look at the area, we HIGHLY recommend.

Our guide was terrific and the trip was even better than we had hoped. Amazing scenery. Great information. Comfortable van. All in all, a 5 out of 5.

Great tour! We had the breakfast option at Featherdale Wildlife Park and it was completely enchanting to spend time with Archer the koala bear in a private setting. It was the highlight of our entire Sydney trip! Just wish we had even more time to tour all of this wonderful park! The Blue Mountains were lovely. We had a very nice lunch at the Hydro Majestic but wished we had a little more time to tour this historic hotel. Loved the botanical park and the tour guide took us in the country to see local wildlife where we spotted kangaroos! It was a great all day tour and everything was so wonderful to see, we only wish we had more time at each place, but then we would have been gone until midnight!

For me the highlight of this tour was a visit to Featherdale Wildlife Park. Feed wallabys, enjoyed the Kangaroos and other animals native to Australia. The view from Eaglehawk of the 3 Sisters is awe inspiring. Drove around other scenic lookouts in the Blue Mountains and had a very pleasant day.

Fabulous day, hit Featherdale Wildlife Park before the crowds. Excellent guide who shared his knowledge and insights. Small group made it easier to explore.

Certainly not a delux tour. The lunch was adequate but the time for the botanical gardens was too short and the attempt to serve a sparkling wine at the end of the afternoon was at the wrong time and was not enjoyed by the group. The guide was good and attempted to make the most of a bad format.

The trip was one of the many highlights of our holiday in Australia. Our guide was excellent! He pitched it just right for our two adult children and us - he gave us plenty of information about the Blue Mountains as well as a bit of an insight into living in Australia.

Despite off the weather i had a great day. Peter knows a lot about the area and is proud of his heritage . Learned a lot of new things about Australia because he teold it in a good way. Food was excellent and the company was mixed and kind. Will be back someday when it is bright and sunny.

Paul, our guide and van driver, was prompt in picking us up, friendly and knowledgeable. We choose this tour for its small size. It turned out that there were only six of us. Paul gave us a little extra time at Featherdale Wildflife Park which is a wonderful place. Fortunately, the weather was beautiful and we were able to see and experience all the sights. Lunch was good. We really enjoyed visiting the Blue Mountains Botanic Garden but wish there had been more time. A visit to Scenic World might be worthwhile but then there might be less time at Featherdale or a visit to the botanic garden.

Our driver/guide had a good sense of humor and was conscientious regarding the welfare of the group and kept us on time without our feeling rushed. Beautiful scenery and the sancutary visit afforded the opportunity to get some good animal photos. Highly recommended.

This was a very enjoyable tour, and i would highly recommend it to all with a day to spare and who would like to get out of Sydney for a day. We had a very friendly and informative guide who passed on some very interesting history and information that you wouldn't really see or understand if you were to just stay in Sydney. With the early start we were first in to Featherdale wildlife Park, which allowed us time to investigate the park fully and leave before the crowds arrived. The views on the drive up and through the blue mountains were fantastic and the views from the lookouts were spectacular and well chosen.

Picked up on time in a van that held 10 people. Scott was great. Very knowledgeable. Arrived and entered Featherdale Wildlife Park before doors were open. Highly recommend visiting there. Wish we could have spent more then 1 hour there. Scott drove us to so many overlooks and views with potential for views, but weather was very cloudy and then the rain came. Visted Botanical Gardens, but rain stopped me from exploring. The itinerary was excellent. Lunch was great. Wish the weather would have cooperated more.

Overall a great tour. Our guide Lyndsey was organized and very informative. The sites were spectacular. My only recommendation was that there was too much scheduled. It would have been nice to spend more time at the animal park and the Blue Mountains. I would have eliminated the end of day visit to the Botanical Gardens and added more time to the earlier activities. Definitely would recommend this tour.

The Blue mountains are definitely worth the trip to see, and I would recommend two days if possible to really see everything. The guide, Johnny was very informative not only about the area, but also the history and culture of Sidney and the Blue Mountains. The tour takes you beyond just the normal tour sites and really lets you gain a true understanding of the vast area called the blue mountains. I highly recommend Johnny and the small group eco tour.

Scenic rides were the main reason I took this tour. But our guide decided that it was too crowded so he skipped scenic world. That is really unacceptable...

Nice scenic drive and stop for apple pie. Blue mountains are nice. I'm afraid of heights but the gondola ride and the rail up the mountain were tolerable. Getting into Featherdale park before the general public was great. Got to be up close and personnel with the animals before everyone else got there. I didn't choose the optional lunch, but what they didn't tell you is if you don't purchase the lunch there is not a stop where you can get something to eat. A couple joined our tour in the morning and the driver charged them $169 a piece that included lunch. I ended up paying the extra $30 for lunch, then plus the $214 for the basic tour I paid $244 and the other paid $169. I don't understand the discrepancy. This tour is worth it for $169 but not for $244.

We had a special all terrain kind of bus, didn't need it what so ever. Stayed on nice paved roads all the time. The Blue mountains were great, too bad we didn't see enough of them. Definitely did not have enough time at the 3 Sisters. We could of spent three hours there, but had less then an hour. Skip the demostration by aboriginals and go straight to the 3 Sisters and marvel in the beauty of nature. Would of given 5 stars if we had gone straight to 3 sisters and had a longer time to stay on location.

The scenery in the Blue Mountains was amazing. Feeding kangaroos was great. The lunch provided was of a good standard. Unfortunately this tour seemed to be more about shopping opportunities than exploring the natural wonders if the area. Not what we expected from an 'Eco tour'. We were disappointed.

Everything went as advertised, had a great tour leader in Larry. Was hurried at each stop, but that was necessary given the aggressive agenda for the day. Would have enjoyed more time at the animal park for sure.

I'm sure much of our enjoyment was due to our driver, Paul. He is a local and had lots of interesting information he shared with us. The early arrival to Featherdale was great. The animals were ready for guests and it was not crowded. I also like that the tour allowed us to take the three types of transportation available at the Blue Mountains. That was fun. I do wish the lunch had been a bit more creative. The food was somewhat bland, particularly for the price.

A good day out but rather a lot of travel between points of interest - a little more time at Featherdale and Katoomba would have made the day better instead of some pointless stops - overall a good day out!

I was somewhat disappointed by this excursion. At the outset it was not explained that the Blue Mountains World Heritage Area comprises several national parks adjacent to development corridors and private sector facilities. Scenic World was in fact on private property and not national park land. _br/_ The guide, was prone to dreadful exaggerations such as "this is the only intact ecosystem on the planet" and slightly dismissive. I asked about scenic world and was told it was private land but it was managed as a park and that it was too complicated to explain. As a consequence I found it difficult to find him credible._br/_ I thought the meals were poor and at the very least lunch should have included one beverage other than water. _br/_ At best it was a pleasant scenic drive, at worst an overrated excursion from which I learned almost nothing.

I have been on 3 Blue Mountain tours in the past, but I have to say this one was the best. small groups, super tour guide and the chance to visit Featherdale Wildlife in the early morning before other tours arrived. I was the first to feed the wallabies and actually see a koala wide awake having had a tasty breakfast of eucalyptus leaves!

Well organized and we liked the small intimate group setting. The guide/driver Johnny was EXCELLENT host and guide. Only problem was it was winter and the Sun Downer (champagne) that we had was a little too early. Well, Sun does go down early in Winder.. so.. but overall was a great experience. We would have liked a short guided hike added to the tour.

Brilliant day in the Blue Mountains with our very knowledgeable and friendly guide Don. Were in a small group, just 4 of us plus Don, and had a great time, very nice lunch and nice finish to the day with a glass of bubbly in very nice surroundings. Probably one of the highlights of our time in Sydney. Would definitely recommend this trip.

Featherdale Wildlife Park is very interesting. Not enough time there to appreciate. Lunch at Golf Club good by should include a dessert and coffee. Gondola and train ride not included. These options are a must when you're there but way too expensive. Not so spectacular.

The guide/driver was outstanding. I really enjoyed all of the dialogue and the attention to detail regarding timeliness. Also an excellent driver. The tour route was also really nice. Great to see more than one site in the area. What was a highlight for the trip was the visit to the animal center at breakfast. What a great little zoo! Nice to be there before the crowds, and only wish there was more time. One disadvantage for me was the lack of excercise/walking. It would be good to make more explicit the choices at the three sisters regarding doing all of the tourist rides and actually hiking for 45'. I didn't think the gondola/train were worth the time, and would have much preferred a walk around the rim. Nice touch at the end to have champagne or juice to celebrate the day. Also really nice to have the option to get dropped off at the Olympic Park to take a ferry back to Sydney Harbor. All in all I would definitely recommend this trip and am glad to have done it.
