While in Tallinn, take some time to explore the dynamic, vibrant city of Helsinki on this day trip! Famous for its modern architecture, Helsinki boasts interesting attractions like magnificent pipe-constructed Sibelius Monument and Temppeliaukio Church, built on a rock with a copper-covered. In addition to your narrated coach tour, you’ll have plenty of time to explore independently.
After pickup from your Tallinn hotel, hop on the morning ferry for a 2.5- hour ride to Helsinki. When you arrive, you’ll take a 1.5-hour narrated coach tour and learn fascinating facts and the city’s colorful history.
See top Helsinki attractions like Senate Square, featuring traditional Finnish architecture, and the city’s most famous landmark, Helsinki Cathedral. Pass the Presidential Palace, built in 1820, and learn how it’s been visited by several important figures such as President George W Bush. Then, see Finlandia Hall, a concert hall used for congress events.
Stop at Sibelius Monument, an artistic piece made of 600 steel pipes created in 1967 for famous Finnish composer Jean Sibelius. You'll also stop at Temppeliaukio Church, which was built into a rock in 1969 and whose modern design features a roof covered in copper.
After your coach tour, you’ll have free time to explore the city independently. You’ll find that this compact city is easy to navigate. Visit more top attractions and landmarks, grab a bite to eat at a local restaurant, and head to the ferry port in central Helsinki to sit, relax and watch ferries come and go.
At the end of the day, you’ll board the ferry to return to Tallinn.
I was picked up at allotted time and brought to the ferry terminal on time.My problems only arised at the Helsinki side when I went to look for tour bus, nobody knew anything. So I had to make my own way to the city and amuse myself,.Very disappointed again With Viator and the lack of information.nobody told me where to get bus and when I asked drivers outside terminal they knew nothing To be honest it would be cheaper to book the ferry yourself and do your own thing. After this second disaster tour in Estonia, that is my last time ever using Viator.Angry, disappointed Brian from Ireland

A convenient way to see both countries at the same time if you are staying for a short time.

Even though I love Helsinki, I did not recommend this tour, as I think you can arrange this on your own. The tour company only picked me up, dropped me off at the habour and I was very much on my own. Not to mention I missed the tour bus - the direction was so ambiguous...

Nobody to meet us or signs to direct us to the tour bus_br/_
We looked around and eventually took a tram into the city, booked with Hop on, Hop off_br/_
I would not recommend this to anyone

In general, I am a person that takes as many day trips as possible because it is a good way to get to know a different country/city in a very short time. Of course, this was not the exception. in theory, the trip is good, but is very self-done, so there is really no guide or you feel pretty much on your own. The company picks you and drops you in the harbor to do the check-in at the ferry counter. That is Ok, but when we got to Helsinki, it was raining and we waited for the supposed bus that never arrived. We went to the touristic office and they told us that the map was tricky and that is why we missed where the tour bus had stopped. Because it was Saturday and in May, there was another bus at 1pm and the people there were kind enough to change our tickets. Additionally we had 8 hours of free time, which would be fine in any other circumstance, but it was raining a lot so really there was not much we could do but wait in restaurants for time to go by. we returned to Tallin at 11.55pm and there was nobody waiting for us to take us to the Hotel... that was something that at that moment after being so tired would have been a plus. Net, if I had booked the ferry and a hop on-hop off on my own, it would have been less expensive and I would have been aware that I would have to do everything myself, but in the end, I think it is worth visiting Helsinki, even on your own!

Good trip. Not much time to get from the ferry to the bus, and nowhere to buy a tram ticket. But apart from that it was a good day and a great place to visit.

Prior to taking this trip I read several reviews noting that people weren't able to contact the tour provider in advance and/or didn't get an information packet with the trip details at their hotel. I can report that I was able to contact the tour provider at the phone number provided by Viator in advance of my tour, and was able to get the trip details from them over the phone. Then as promised, when I arrived at my hotel, there was an info packet at the front desk from the tour provider containing the vouchers for the ferry and the bus tour as well as hand-annotated maps. And, the car to take me to the ferry terminal was waiting for me right outside my hotel at 0645 as scheduled. So, I can report I had absolutely no issues with the tour provider at all and that the tour was in fact quite well organized. Note, it is a bit of a hustle to get from the ferry terminal (arriving at about 1040) to the tour bus for the 1100 tour departure. So, walk fast or take a taxi. Helsinki is quite a bit more expensive than Tallinn so don't plan to do much shopping there, but DO try local delicacies like reindeer with lingonberries and mashed potatoes!!!!

This tour was one of the best highlights of our holiday in Tallinn. We found the package with all the details as promised at our hotel's desk a day before. The driver was exactly on time to take us to the harbour and the trip to Helsinki on the Viking was excellent, however the ship arrived a few minutes late (10 minutes) which meant that we had to rush and take a taxi to be on time for the city tour. The tour around Helsinki was very informative and comprehensive. I would recommend this tour to anybody who is interested to visit another capital city when in Tallinn.

Really disappointed with the service offered. Got picked up from the hotel and literally dumped at the ferry terminal with no info as to how to proceed with no representatives from the tour company present. One of the Viking Line clerks helped set me on my way and I made it over to Helsinki. Again no information at the other end and no info of where to go for the guided tour. Complete waste of time - might as well have travelled under my own steam at a much lower cost._br/_
The next morning the desk clerk at the hotel handed me the information pack from the tour operator. I'm prepared to accept that this may have been the hotel's mistake, but that said I don't see why they driver didn't hand the documents to me personally? Really the tour operator should have made more of an effort to make sure that the documents reached me and that I was at least safely on my way.

Excellent trip. Was a bit disconcerting that we couldn't contact the local agent although ringing for two days several times. The travel documents were delivered on the day before we were due to travel as promised. On the appointed day we were instructed to be outside our hotel at 6.10. We were outside at 5.55 just in case the driver was early. He arrived at exactly 6.10. We were delivered to the ferry in good time for a coffee and a visit to the rest rooms. The ferry trip was uneventful and delivered us on time to Helsinki. We walked to the appointed place and met the tour coach. This took about twenty five minutes because we weren't sure where we were going. The tour guide informed us that we could have caught a bus right outside of the ferry terminal! Be warned Helsinki is a lot more expensive than Tallin. In Tallin all around the main square if you want a drink, just sit out side of any of the restaurants and you order a beer.price about four euros, in Helsinki if you sit in a restaurant and don't wish to eat,the staff aren't very helpful or welcoming, price seven euro fifty. The tour was very interesting and plenty of photo opportunities. Downside was seven hours to kill before ferry back to Tallin.Got back to hotel at midnight, tired but extremely pleased to have had a very well organised well run trip. Will be looking for a Viator excursion next time that we travel.

Admittedly a really long day, but worth it! The map that was provided to enable us to get from the ferry port to the bus tour was excellent and the tour itself was very informative and enjoyable. I would recommend!

We had a very bad experience for the Helsinki day trip from Tallinn. We contacted the local agent since we arrived Tallinn, and we were informed that a driver will pick up us from our hotel at 6:45am of next morning. The driver arrived the hotel on time and dropped us at the Tallinn ferry terminal without any explanation as the driver doesn't understand English. We then phoned the local agent but nobody answered the phone. We then showed the Viator booking voucher to a ticket officer, the ticket officer issued us two return ferry tickets without any further information regarding the tour. We arrived Helsinki ferry terminal around 10:30am and didn't find anyone to meet us. We then phoned the local agent, the lady told us that she left a document with itinerary in the front desk of our hotel, but we didn't get this document. Soon after she messaged us a brief itinerary which allowed us to find the bus tour in Helsinki. In summary, we believe that Viator and the local agent had poor communication with customers. Why can't Viator provide a detailed itinerary for us at first? Why can't the driver deliver the document with itinerary to me by himself?

Loved the tour. Our hostess was really helpful and a lot of fun. We enjoyed hearing about the city and after investigating for ourselves. Highly recommend a tour of the harbor also.

Superbly organised tour from start to finish._br/_
Would reccomend it to anyone thinking of visiting Helsinki._br/_
Just one suggestion - The Audio Tour, some of the headsets were faulty and could only pick up a limited number of languages._br/_
Otherwise perfect!
