Tallinn 3-Hour Estonian Food Tour
Tallinn, Estonia
Enjoy this food tour and discover what is the Estonian cuisine - Nordic with a twist, or a touch of Russia and a bit of German? You’ll enjoy 6-7 food and drink stops combined with strolls around the old town. Enjoy the venues like: medieval thematic tavern, street sales, eco-food-store, deli-shop, typical Estonian-cuisine restaurant, or a secret wine terrace in the old town. You will also enjoy some culture at the Hellemann Tower and L&M Estonian Drinking Culture Museum. Please note that the menu and drinks of individual stops might vary.
Once you meet your guide at a meeting point, you can get ready for a food tour, experienced through 7 food stops. At first you will try a serving of a pumpkin and parsnip soup along with a shot of pepper and honey Schnapps. Further you’ll stop at local eco-food store, there are several tasting stations where you’ll have a chance to taste either local smoked elk or/and wild boar meat, local jams, mustard, cheese, bread, some liqueur (if wished so). The next stop will introduce you to the Estonian black bread in modern form, served along with local pesto sauces, accompanied by a tasting of local home-made beer or kvass (production of micro-brewery). Further you will visit the defensive tower, where along with views to the red rooftops of Tallinn Old Town you will be served a shot of special Estonian berry schnapps. Entrance included. Further you’ll stop at the oldest continuously working pharmacy in Europe and will have a chance to taste some sweets prepared following a recipe dating back to 15th century. You will have a chance to taste traditional Estonian spicy sprat sandwiches, served along with national drink called Kama. The tour will conclude with a visit and light wine-tasting at the hidden pearl of Tallinn Old Town - a century-old wine factory with stunning views from its private viewing platform. You will also receive a thematic gift.
We believe you learn a country's culture by the food. And this is a good tour. Our guide was very noce and took us to a fee places to try local food (tapas style) and some drinks (schnapps and wine). Not a full meal but will recomend it completely. make sure you visit your favorite place prior.

This was a great tour in spite of the rainy weather._br/_ Raiko Rohtla was a superb guide and took us to some really interesting locations. We had been to Tallin before and walked the town on our own but we learnt so much more this time._br/_ Great food and drink and lots of information about Estonia and its culture and history. _br/_ Robin and Denise

Maria was fantastic!. We had seen some of the sights she was going to show us that day and she adapted and showed us sights we hadn't seen. She was very knowledgeable and friendly. I would recommend this tour

The guide was very knowledgable about Tallinn and I would recommend her for a tour guide but I definitely would not call it a food tour. There was very little to eat and we were hungry when we finished.
