Discovering Gozo Full Day Excursion including Train Ride to Cittadella

On this full-day tour, you'll be picked up from your hotel and after a 20-minute ferry crossing arrive on the island of Gozo. While both Malta and Gozo are similar in history and development, Gozo has a character entirely of its own. Gozo, which has three hills, is greener and more picturesque than Malta. You will visit the National Shrine of the Blessed Virgin of Ta' Pinu, Dwejra Bay, a souvenir shop, Victoria and the Cittadella.

During this tour you will visit The National Shrine of the Blessed Virgin of Ta' Pinu, a Roman Catholic basilica and national shrine located just outside village of Gharb. The basilica is located in the edge of a cliff in open countryside which allows visitors to enjoy beautiful views of the area. You will then visit the Inland Sea and Dwejra Bay. A visit to the Crafts Center is a must. There you will see stone works, marble, traditional food, local lace and many other items. This is the perfect place where you can buy a souvenir which will remind you of Gozo.

Then visit Victoria, the capital of Gozo. The name given in honor of Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee, Victoria is more commonly referred to as Rabat by locals. A historic fortified city, you'll find a citadel at it's center, an old prison, and the Courts of Justice. After this visit, stop for lunch in a restaurant in Rabat.

Finally, drive to Mgarr Port via Qala Belvedere to see some breathtaking scenery. Then make a short ferry crossing back to Malta and be dropped-off at your hotel.

The content of the trip is okay but the organisation left a bit to be desired. It didn't help that a number of people were constantly late getting back to the coach when moving on to the next destination. We were originally picked up at 8am but the tour did not start until nearly 10.30am. The time in between was spent picking people up from various hotels, changing coaches, etc. The actual ferry crossing was less than half an hour.

Caves were really good. Meal was mediocre. Craft place was disappointing as just a local shop. Citadel and Victoria lovely but only had 55 mins there so not enough free time to enjoy it. Vincent our tour guide was very good. Just wish it hadn't felt so rushed. Bus was late in the morning.

Well, an 8-hour tour turned into an 11-hour test of patience so there is that! Picked up about 45 minutes late, followed by waiting in the ferry line about 45 minutes where nobody explained the situation or made sure our unmarked group was in the correct place. Ferry ride was fine and we found our bus easily. Ironically, we THEN received stickers to wear to identify out group.

I think my whole day was coloured by the fact that it said in the description up to 14 people and it was actually a coach of about 45. Therefore no personal touch and I felt cheated. It was in two languages so wasting time - often short stops. Our guide shouted into the mic. Island is amazing.

If you and #39;re starting in Valletta be aware you have to pick up at almost every city in Malta before getting to the harbour. It was about 1.5 hour driving or just pure pick ups for us. Tour needs to consolidate its pick up points_br/_ Otherwise a definite must do! Plenty of free time and good lunch

The tour of Gozo was both beautiful and informative. Our guide was very knowledgeable and clear in his talk, and the scenery is breathtaking. This is worth the money for the trip and more. It is an essential part of the trip to Malta, especially the boat ride in the Blue Grotto.

I did not know what to expect, however, what an absolutely wonderful day it was, seeing so much, soaking up the culture, which is so different to Malta, learning it's settlement history. I would definitely recommend this trip to anyone visiting Malta.

This was a terrific trip and our tour guide Anna was so helpful, knowledgable and accommodating to everyone. She spoke several languages and tried to give great information and clear instructions on when and where to meet always. We saw a lot of things and lunch was a very nice buffet. Super excursion!

Our tour guide, Mark, was wonderful in navigating our group through the multiple sites in Gozo. We were pleasantly surprised at the end of the day when he took us to see the Maltese archipelago! We recommend a full day on Gozo to see this charming island.

Great tour. Saw and learned a lot about Gozo. The guide was very young and very much into himself. He did a good job but needs to evolve a little and understand that the excursion is about the customers and the places they should see. He needs to tone done how he addresses tourists.

Did enjoy the majority of the trip but the time spent outside at the temples was too long as didn't get a chance to do the reading inside as you entered. Plus standing out in the sun was too long for elderly clients.

A really brilliant day - our tour guide Mario was simply fantastic! He clearly loves his job and it shows. He interacted with us all throughout and kept us very well informed on everything we saw. Bravo for Mario. The trip itself is very well organised and we moved from one site to another seamlessly. The meal was probably the best I have had on a tour. The whole experience was very enjoyable and memorable. I would thoroughly recommend.
