Go from the sea to the sky with this fantastic gondola ride in Squamish, 40 miles (65 km) from Vancouver. Opened in May 2014, the Sea to Sky Gondola is an incredible attraction, sure to amaze even the most hardened traveler. And it’s in Squamish, which CNNMoney.com has called the top mountain town to visit in North America. Get lifted to the top of the mountain for soaring views of the coniferous-forest-clad mountains.
Start your Squamish sea-to-sky journey at the gondola’s Basecamp, where there’s a café, a children’s play area and a shop. Step into the Sea to Sky Gondola and prepare to be wowed by the views. Soar 2,900 feet (880 m) above sea level to the top of the mountain and have your camera ready for the views.
See the magnificent Howe Sound fjord, Shannon Falls and the huge Squamish Chief Mountain on the way up, and gawk at the coniferous forest covering the mountains in the the surrounding area. Once at the top, take your time strolling across the Sky Pilot suspension bridge, a 330-foot (100-m) span offering 360-degree views of the mountains and fjord below.
Can’t get enough of the views? Linger on the 5,000-square-foot (465-square-meter) viewing platform for even better views. And if all that sightseeing builds up an appetite, stop at the Summit Lodge Restaurant or the Summit Tea House for a snack (own expense) before making the descent in the gondola.
This tour was SO much fun. We took our 4 and 1/2 year old with us, and since we left all he has done is ask when can we go again? The directions and location were very easy to follow and find, it was super easy to show your voucher and just hop on board. The views were spectacular, the staff friendly and informative, and the bridge, lookout, and trails at the top were so worth it. We would absolutely do this again in a heartbeat the next time we are in the area! I highly recommend it!

The trip was very nice. Thanks to Viator for providing different packages. Based on the volume of business, they could provide better pricing to the out of town/country travelers.

A great day and great experience. All aspects of this experience were outstanding. I would recommend the complimentary tour to begin your experience as the tour guide had a wealth of knowledge. I wish I had more time to explore!!

Trip up was fantastic. It would have been nice to know that the attraction had a 5 rate for someone in a wheelchair me instead of the 39 that Tripadvisor sold me.

Stunning views and fast ascent. Lovely trails at the top and a suspension bridge too! If possible I would highly recommend going during the week as they have high visitor numbers during the weekends. Highly recommend.

Loved this! We were amazed at how high the gondola went and went and went. Great view from the top. There was also a great suspension bridge which was free and a restaurant. It was great. We would definitely do this again!

My visiting Sister and I so enjoyed this. We went early to avoid the crowds and spent hours at the top exploring the trails. Afterwards we had lunch in Squamish. What a great day!

We visited during the month of September, the gondola ride was good but it was really windy and cold and we were not able to hike. I would recommend going peak summer because if you can hike and enjoy the views then the gondola ride is worth it.

We thoroughly enjoyed this tour! Had unexpected snowfall once we reached the summit! It was raining at the base where we boarded the tram, but snowing a lot at the top! Just beautiful. Tram was a smooth ride and quick. Facilities were so welcoming at the summit with snack bars, gift shop, displays on the building of the facility. We didn't walk the suspension bridge due to the snow on it and we couldn't see the lake below, but the snow coming down was amazing.

Beautiful! The Sea to Sky Gondola is such a wonderful ride! Then the fun begins, many hiking trails, most very easy for all visitors. The suspended bridge also exciting and a beautiful view if the peaks.

The trip on the gondola was absolutely brilliant with breath taking views to greet you at the top of the mountain.

The four of us really enjoyed this trip! Truly amazing! The only negative aspect was that when we returned to the bottom of the mountain, an attendant asked to see our tickets...one of our group had problems finding her ticket and was told that if she did not find it, she would have to go back inside and buy another ticket for the ride down...there was nothing said to us when we purchased the tickets on line nor when we picked up the tickets to take the trip about the need to keep our ticket handy and that we would need to show it again to get back to the home base.....

Great view and experience. We enjoyed the gondola ride, suspension bridge, hiking and bird-eye view of surrounding area.

Never buy the ticket here. It is not the lowest cost. It is 2 canadian dollors cheapter on the web page. Plus, if you buy there, the expiration date is a lot longer, which here is only for a day, but the web page one is for a season. so I asked for a refund but they declined. So displeased.

Very scenic ride and a nice restaurant at the top. Also a suspension bridge to even more scenic views. Well worth the money.

Despite early morning low clouds, by the time we arrived at the base of the gondola, the sun was shining and showing off this feature's glory. A magnificent view from bottom to top, capped by a beautiful lodge and well groomed and marked trails made this a spectacular day for our French visitors. We used the excuse of visitors to show off this part of the world, and will certainly be back for more, guests or no guests!
