Vancouver North Shore Day Trip with Capilano Suspension Bridge and Grouse Mountain

Experience Vancouver's beautiful surroundings on this 5- or 6-hour guided North Shore tour. After crossing Vancouver Harbor via the landmark Lions Gate Bridge, you'll cross the Capilano Suspension Bridge and take a ride on the Grouse Mountain Skyride. You'll also get up-close views of grizzly bears at the Refuge for Endangered Wildlife!

Your Vancouver North Shore day trip starts with pickup from Vancouver (select hotels only) and a drive over the Lions Gate Bridge, a 5,890-foot (1,823-meter) suspension bridge that offers unparalleled views of Vancouver Harbor, English Bay and beyond.

Once you get across the North Shore, continue on a short drive up the mountain to the Capilano Fish Hatchery (11am departure only). Learn about the life cycle of salmon from your guide and, depending on the season (July - August), watch as they leap their way upriver.

Next, head to the Capilano Suspension Bridge, where you'll meander along the surrounding temperate rainforest and learn the traditions of the indigenous First Nations’ people. Then, walk across the 446-foot (136-meter) bridge to the other side of the river, where you can climb to the canopy and walk through the Treetops Adventure walkway high above the canyon and river below.

For those seeking a more thrilling experience, try the Cliffwalk, the newest attraction at the bridge. This adrenaline-pumping journey will take you through the rainforest on a series of suspended walkways jutting out from the granite cliff face to unexplored territories of the park.

At the Grouse Mountain Skyride, hop on the tram and travel to a 3,937-foot (1,200-meter) viewpoint above the city and enjoy nature’s spectacular view. In the summertime, you can see Mt Baker and Vancouver Island off British Columbia’s coast. You can also get up-close views of grizzly bears at the Refuge for Endangered Wildlife.

After your North Shore experience, relax on the drive back to Vancouver.

This was more of a shuttle bus than a tour.... Our guide gave us no facts about the city on the way, and basically dropped us off at both locations with a time to meet back at the bus. When reading the discription of this tour it sounded like an all around tour with a guide, but it is honestly just a shuttle bus to both locations.

The day was planned to maximize our time and we're so glad we went! We had ample time to enjoy the sights. We even rode the ski lift to the top and enjoyed a visit in 'The Eye of the Wind'. We had time to hike around to see the bears and even Gregory the grouse! The Suspension Bridges were fun but crowded but things did move along. If we hadn't done the famous suspension bridges we always would have felt like we missed out. We highly recommend this tour for those who aren't afraid of heights!

Loved the tour, but I just wished we had more time at the suspension bridge. They can skip the salmon farm visit altogether not very interesting and take more time at the bridge. Our guide was quite a character!

One of the best days on our holidays! Amazing tour from start to finish. Very well organised. Bus driver a little over the top but had a fantastic day overall. A must see and do tour. The Capilano Bridge area is so delightful, scenic and a little exhausting. Grouse Mountain is also scenic and breathtaking.

We really enjoyed this tour. The driver was friendly and well organised. We had enough time to cross the bridge and cliff walk which was amazing. At the mountain, we were lucky that we saw the bears and lumberjack show was entertaining.

This was a fantastic day out and our guide Mikey was very informative, friendly and amusing. You could really tell he loved this part of the world. He gave us a running commentary all the way which made the tour really interesting. We were picked up from our hotel on time and dropped off outside. I couldn't ask for a better day out.

This whole tour was amazing! My husband who is afraid of heights agreed to cross the suspension bridge and was so happy he did....the views were exceptional ! Grouse Mountain at the time had much snow in May. We thought this tour was Excellent!

This was a great tour that took us to see what North Vancouver had to offer! Definitely one for the active traveler who do not mind the walk and fresh air. I have a fear of heights and I had no problems crossing the suspension bridge. However the cliff walkway was pretty scary for me haha. Maybe everyone is different...

Prompt pickup and return from my hotel in Richmond - and tour guide Sarah was really friendly and informative. Was a really good way to head north and see Grouse mountain cable car is awesome! - and you get a few hours to explore at the top, including the bear enclosure, birds of prey show, and a hike to the very top optional!. The salmon hatchery follows next, with capilano suspension bridge at the end you get about 90 minutes here - easily enough time to do all the walks included in the park.

The bridge was a little slippery with the rain, so we needed to be careful and not walk as gingerly as usual. The rain on the mountain was heavy, and it was very cloudy so we missed the view of the city. We have no control over the weather, but the staff was pleasant and knowledgeable.

Jason was a fantastic guide to an amazing tour. pick ups were exently coordinated. he extended visit so we could see the whole lumber jack show and was willing to drop us off at places of our choice. we were so tired we skipped his recomendation for chinese food. found excellant one under the hyatt/ hilton where were picked up. food was great and reasonable.

Great tour with time built in to enjoy. We boarded the bus close to the first but luck of the draw. Within an hour we were covering Vancouver City and then out to The Bridge. Nice and early so fewer of the pushier tourists : _br/_ Amazing complex with not just the bridge but the sky walk and the cliff walk._br/_ Then on to Grouse Mountain. Nice bears, good bird show. Not their fault but disappointing after 2 weeks travel and this was the best._br/_ Good value if the rest of the wildlife doesn't show _br/_ Not their fault and Ken the Tour guide was great :

I enjoyed the tour but it seemed we didn't have quite enough time at Grouse mountain. The lumberjack show was a bit lame and could Have been a LOT shorter! Was hoping to see them do a real carving but wasn't even close! Great for families but not so much for couples.

A really worthwhile trip, covering a lot in the five hours. I would recommend the 9am start, as this ensures that the Capilano site is much less busy and therefore more enjoyable. The cliff walk at Capilano was superb. Grouse Mountain provided great views over Vancouver and a chance to see two orphaned grizzly bears and birds of prey, both with informative talks by park rangers.

Since both Capilano and Grouse mountain can be accessed via the dree shuttle service or Translink, this tour is very expensive -- more than twice the cost of the entrance fees alone. Not worth the extra cost to use the coach service.

We had a very nice day on Grouse Mountain and at the Capilano Suspension Bridge. The Birds of Prey show, the Lumberjack show, and the Grizzly Bear display on Grouse Mountain were all good. The Capilano Bridge is much more than just a bridge, as it includes walkways through a rain forest, and a cliff walk. I was in awe at how these were all built. I would definitely recommend this excursion if you have a day to spend in Vancouver.

great way see both attractions. Pete was very nice. Didnt know about free bus to Capilano from Canada Place which would have been fine as you are on our own when you get there anyway.
