Sign up for a 17-foot boat rental and make your way to the boat rental floating office on Granville Island in downtown Vancouver to pick up your boat. After arrival, you will receive a boat operation overview and safety briefing (15 minutes). A map and suggestions for your trip will also be provided.
The friendly and patient staff will ensure you are completely comfortable at the helm before leaving the dock - no matter your experience level. All of the rental boats are of rugged construction and include life jackets for each passenger (life jackets for all ages are available).
After the boat operation overview, you are ready to start exploring Vancouver's majestic coastline in your very own private speed boat! You are free to explore more then 250 square kilometers of waters around downtown Vancouver, Bowen Island or Indian Arm where you can catch glimpses of seals, bald eagles and explore the waterfalls.
Want to see seals? Make your way to Palm Rocks in Howe Sound where you will find a large colony of harbor seals playing and lounging on the rocks.
Want to stop for a picturesque picnic? Dock your boat in the public marina at Snug Cove on Bowen Island and explore the nature trails or sprawl out at the coast with a picnic.
Want to explore some waterfalls? Motor your way under the iconic Lions Gate bridge, past the stunning downtown Vancouver skyline and up the mountain fjords of Indian Arm to the Granite Waterfalls, where you can park up and explore the falls.
Finish up your adventure with a well deserved ice cream from the many picturesque marinas on your way back to Granville Island.
The boat rental excursion was really cool. We had an amazing day on the water. The boats were well maintained and the staff were very helpful in explaining everything thing needed to make the 3 hour round trip to seal island. I would definitely do it again when in Vancouver.

I had never driven a boat before and really wanted to give it a try. I was a little nervous to start but after some helpful instructions from Emma and a few minutes on the water, I got the hang of it and really enjoyed it.
