Soak up the best of Washington DC on this full-day tour that combines informative narration with free time to explore popular sights. Step off your coach to visit top DC attractions including the US Capitol, White House Visitor Center, Smithsonian museums and World War II Memorial on your own. Drive by other major landmarks including the Washington Monument, Tidal Basin, National Gallery of Art and US Navy Memorial. This tour makes it easy to capture amazing photos and make the most of your time in the US capital!
Begin your daylong tour of Washington DC by boarding your comfortable, air-conditioned coach at Union Station. As you travel the city, listen to your knowledgeable driver share information and anecdotes about the US capital and its many famous sights.
Get off your coach to visit certain landmarks independently. Join a guided tour (reserved for you in advance) of the US Capitol, where the Congress meets, and make the most of your photo stop at the White House South Lawn. At the White House Visitor Center, get a sense of what the White House looks like inside and learn about US presidents. Have lunch (at your own expense) at your choice of several locations; your guide will let you know when to return to the coach.
Pay your respects to the heroes of World War II at the stately World War II Memorial with its lovely fountains. Spend time exploring the vast collections at the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum and the Smithsonian National Museum of American History.
In the course of your tour, you'll also see the Washington Monument, FBI headquarters (J Edgar Hoover Building), Federal Triangle, Ellipse, Tidal Basin, National Archives, House and Senate Office Building, US Botanical Gardens, National Gallery of Art, US Navy Memorial and Grant Memorial — so keep your camera handy!
Your 7-hour tour of Washington's best-known sights concludes at Union Station.
We went there on Sunday, so Capital building was closed. We complained and we got refund. City itself was nice and tour was good, but they could have mentioned that Capital building is closed on Sundays, some what disappointed.

Viator is a rip off! They charge $15 more for this tour than Greylines charges! The tour isn and #39;t even worth the lower $50 greylines charges. There is no tour guide. The bus driver literally drives you around with little interaction. You get off the bus and have to figure things out yourself. Skip It!

Loved this tour. A good way to see a lot of Washington if you don't have much time.

The tour didnt fulfill my expectations since there were 4 stops that were too long in which we were ledt on our own and it only cover visit by bus to the Arlington Cemetery but it didnít include stop to The Unknown Soldier Memorial.

Enjoyed the tour, bus driver gave great informations about the sights. Bus was in time. It was worth $50 per a person. I would do it again. First time in DC.

we left Williamsburg at 4:30 am but still did not make it time for tour. Disappointed for sure.

This was one of the best tours I have been on from Viator. I think it was due to the excellent narration from the bus driver, Cheryl. Due to the traffic difficulties, secondary to Rolling Thunder, she was outstanding in working around the traffic to get us to all of the monuments and historic places highlighted on the web for this tour. With her love of history, she really added a lot to our knowledge of US history.

To much walking no even ask if there were handicap person on board. i would not reconmend this trip to an elderly friend
Review by: Frank K, May 2016
I enjoyed it. However, it's not the best tour for people who cannot speak English. I don't have that issue but just making a comment

Beautifully sunny day on an open-top bus, we managed to squeeze everything into just one day which was perfect for us.

Thought the day trip was great except very disappointed that we didn't see the Smithsonian air and space museum that was on the agenda when I booked the tickets

We booked the trip for a Sunday. It was only when we arrived for the tour that we learned the Capital is closed on Sundays. The tour was good, but I booked it to see the Capital and we didn't get to.

The tour was very good except the 3 - 4 hours at one of the Smithsonians was way too long. The driver was very good.
Review by: Dana G, September 2015
Very good. The tour guide was very knowledgable which made the bus ride all the more better. The only thing I would change is to have a tour guide to walk us through the tour also.
Review by: Kathy C, September 2015
I highly recommend this tour. We got to see a lot of Washington DC in one day. It was a tiring day, but well worth the trip. Our guide was very informative.

Driver did a good job, was not aware when purchased that this also was an open top bus tho cooler below it would have been cooler yet with the back to the top not open. we chose this tour because of the heat in the area.

We enjoyed the tour very much. The only thing that would make it better is if it were to add a Smithsonian stop and maybe shorten some of the Memorial visit times. However, the bus driver did give us the option to be dropped off at the Smithsonian at the end of the tour. Then, we walked through the mall back to Union station-which was quite an adventure. So, it all worked out well for our family.

This was an awesome experience! I've done the tour before, but my mom and nephew hadn't. They both stated how much we were able to see in DC within the 8 hours. Just the right amount of tie was given at each stop to let you get the perfect amount of pictures. Also, out tour guide was awesome!

I have a heart condition and couldn't keep up in the capitol building, I got thru it all but I was on my own, I didn't have a ticket to show what firm I was with, the driver wouldn't keep the coach where we could climb in all the time, we were mostly seniors.
Review by: Robert J, April 2015
We had a great time! Definitely would recommend it to anyone. We could not have seen ALL the sites and the knowledge gained by ourselves!
Review by: Aldry M, March 2015
This tour was amazing!
Review by: Roderick M, March 2015
Alot in a short time a great value. Some stops need better timing. Don't think about the Smithsonain and there is not enough time to see both the MLK and FDR memorials at the same stop. But again great value other than lunch at the expensive museum cafeterias.
Review by: Paul M, February 2015
I organised my visit around this tour. When I arrived I wastold that even though I had paid the tour would not take place as a minimum of 10 people were required. There was nothing about this requirement when you sold me the ticket. I was told I would get a credit but nothing has eventuated to date. I consider this a complete breach of good faith on Viators part. I will have no further dealings with you!

Very dissapointing. No tour guide accompanied this tour just driver who drops you off and points you to where you need to go. You might as well do these sites on your own as you do not get any guided tours of the sites.
Review by: Peter W, December 2014
We were disapointed to find that there was no tour guide getting off at each stop only the driver Bob ( who did a good job in giving a running commentary)._br/_
It would have been just as good and cheaper to get the hop on hop off bus.

It was a great day to see Washington DC in a day. It could not have been any better. Our driver DC was super. He was very knowledgable and entertaining as well. The cost was very reasonable for the experience. _br/_
We will definitely be looking for other similar tour upon our return to DC in the near future. Thanks!
