Still raving about it 2.5 years later. Would do it again but next time I'll make sure we book lunch in the restaurant if possible and go out on the river.

The driver was very knowledgeable and narrated almost the entire time of the bus ride. The tour included a lot on Alexandria VA, that I had not expected. The driver gave us good advice upon arrival at Mt. Vernon and cautioned us to do the mansion tour first because of the long lines.

The tour itinerary apparently changed the day exact day of our tour. Mount Vernon was not included as previously advertised. However, even without visiting Mount Vernon, the tour was very good and filled a seven hour day. The driver was very knowledgeable and helpful.

If you are pressed for time, this is a great tour of two one of a kind sites. Bus driver was friendly and helpful. We had a great time with our grandkids who were 16 and 14.

Missed breakfast at our hotel to make it to the tour on time...7:45 arrival for 8:00 tour..only to be told they no longer do the Arlington National Cemetery portion and to come back at 11:30 for the Mt Vernon tour. Very frustrated. When I called Viator regarding the issue I was shuffled automatically to Greyline Tours. Very disappointed in Viator's service with this issue. I would have expected more from a company I have used several times in the past. No help at all. had issues with Washington 1/2 day too...they didn't stop at all the places listed

The amount of time allowed for eating lunch and visiting Mount Vernon was a little short. Would have like the ability to take a little slower pace and really visit all of the various parts of the estate.

The tour was ok, be careful because at Mount Vernon they would not honor our lunch voucher that were paid for and part of the tour. They were in the amount of 14.00 and they wouldn't accept them, we end having to pay again for whatever we chose to eat after supposedly included in the tour.

If you are not renting a car while visiting Washington DC, traveling on the comfortable, roomy, and warm coach was very enjoyable. We were disappointed with the amount of time allocated in the total tour to the time spent at Arlington. It was much too short. We missed the Changing of the Guard by five minutes. We could not wait for the next changing in 25 minutes because we had to make sure we were on the next tram. We only had a few minutes to view JFK's grave. Again, we had to catch the tram. We spent most of our time at Arlington waiting in line for the tram. We could not take the time to walk up to the Lee house for the incredible view. Again, we had to stay on the tram to get back for our bus departure to Mount Vernon. Once on the bus, we felt very disappointed that we did not experience Arlington with the calm, quiet, serenity, and respect we should have felt. The time at Mount Vernon could easily be an hour shorter. We still could have had lunch, viewed the Mansion, walked the grounds, viewed the grave site, and been to the bus on time. Our driver was very knowledgeable and fun throughout the entire trip. Driving through Old Town Alexandria was very picturesque.

Stopped by two other sites, along with Arlington National Cemetery and Mount Vernon. Went to Arlington National Cemetery in the morning, Mount Vernon for lunch and the afternoon. Bob the tour guide was excellent. Comments in other reviews are accurate in stating that the tour guide does steer with one hand and hold the microphone in the other and doesn't accompany the group at any of the stops. Tram service provided at Arlington National Cemetery is helpful. Ticket to Mount Vernon includes tour of mansion, but not the premium tour. Very glad to have taken this tour.

Tour Guide and Bus Driver Bob was so informative and seemed to truly love sharing the rich history of Arlington, Alexandria, and Mount Vernon. My friend and I enjoyed a delicious lunch at the restaurant at Mount Vernon, where the hostess shared recipes for some of the dishes. The grounds of Mt. Vernon are vast and the views from the property along the Potomac were gorgeous. So many trees were in bloom while we were there. Loved touring through Old Town Alexandria and visiting George Washington's church. And Arlington National Cemetery was a very moving experience. A very full and enjoyable day - so glad we booked this tour!

I will have to split the review between the Mount Vernon half of the trip and the Arlington Cemetery tour. Mount Vernon half? Fantastic, except it wasn't enough time. Would have really enjoyed a non-combo tour. The Cemetery tour portion was marred by being left by the bus driver, requiring a taxi ride to Mt Vernon to catch up. We were told when we arrived at Arlington that we should meet the bus @ 11:30, and departure at 11:40. Okay, fine. Set an alarm on the smartphone, and started the tour. Was advised by the driver that the changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unknown, was on-the-hour, and that he would not make it for the 9:00AM change, but we would have PLENTY of time to make the 10 AM. Fine. Set an alarm and proceeded on the tour. Rode the tram to JFK grave site, hopped off, photo, photo, and then caught the next tram to the tomb of the unknown. We got ourselves a prime seat at the front chain at 9:30. Right before 10:00AM the guards changed the positions of the chains to create an aisle for the folks who would lay the wreath. That put us right at the intersection of the aisle and the front chain, with the crowd building behind us. What we were not told was how long the ceremony lasted. The ceremony began with us pinned at the front. It is a most moving ceremony, but they laid two wreaths that day. My alarm went off right in the middle of the ceremony, making me THAT idiot. We were unable to move from our location until the ceremony concluded without disrupting this very solemn moment further by trying to push ourselves through the crowd. When it concluded we began our dash to the tram stop. Being a senior, I don't really jog or move that quickly, so as we approached the tram stop my granddaughter and I watched as the tram pulled away. We had to wait for the next one. Of course a group of high-school kids were being herded by their chaperone who just wouldn't accept that their entire group couldn't be shoe-horned onto this single tram, meant that when we finally made the parking lot we had been abandoned. We called the local office to ask them what to do, and were rewarded with a recording saying that they were unavailable, and to please leave a phone number the same phone number we supplied when we signed up. It was evidently lunchtime, so we just kept trying. We did finally receive a return call 30 minutes, we told them we were stranded at the cemetery. She said she knew, because the driver called her and said that we missed the bus. Would have been nice if they had called us then. When asked what to do next, we were told to take a taxi to Mt Vernon. Where could we do that, we queried? No idea was the reply. We finally found the taxi stand out on the road, and after a 45 taxi ride we made it to Mt Vernon. To the companies credit, the company refunded us the price of the taxi, but we lost a great deal of time at the site that we really were interested in. Not to mention the stress. So be aware. Since we were told we had plenty of time to make it to the ceremony, it would have been great to have been told how long it could take. Be sure you can bail out without disturbing the ceremony.

Very good tour. I like that there is a restroom on board the Bus. Driver/Tour guide excellent. Driver did accommodate those who wanted to get off before the final stop at union station.

Would rather make sense for the tour company to assign a tour guide to accompany the group and not rely on the driver to be the on the bus tour guide for a large bus group. Also, rather unsafe to drive with one hand and hold the microphone with other hand to his mouth. _br/_ Arlington tour by Arlington staff is excellent, especially the changing of the guards.Mount Vernon grounds are beautiful with a lot of history - tour is on your own of the grounds.

For the price I thought this was going to be a small group/small bus tour, but instead it was a big bus. There was just the driver as the guide who took us around town and pretty much just dropped us off everywhere while giving some tidbits of info that we've already heard on other DC tours. Once you do enough tours, you start to hear all the same information. We were supposed to go to Arlington first, but for some reason the guide switched it up and took us to Mount Vernon first, when all the school groups were there at the same time. The tour through the house was expedited to get all the kids through quickly, so the rest of us non-school group people were shuffled through without being able to look around much or ask questions of the docents staffing the rooms. I asked a worker if the kids were mostly there in the morning, and she said yes, that it dies down after lunch so I wonder again, WHY we had to switch the tour schedule?. I realize that going to DC in the springtime would have a lot of school groups, but when you pay 105 per person for a tour, you expect a more exclusive experience. We had lunch at the Mount Vernon restaurant which was ok, but the bus driver said we needed to make a reservation on Open Table I tried and there was no availability. Because the tour was all day, I didn't want to miss an opportunity for a sit down lunch, so we waited at the front door of the restaurant early to get a walk-in seating which we got, but at the expense of being able to walk around the Mount Vernon grounds. I would have love to have spent a little more time at Mount Vernon and when it was more green/blooming, so maybe next time. Arlington was really great, we took the tram all around and got to see the main sites. The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier was especially moving and the changing of the guard. Overall, the tour met its objective, but after having done some other amazing DC tours, this was kind of a disappointment I just thought we would have a more hands-on tour guide/expert rather than just dropping us off and leaving us.

The trip itself was great, the company that operates this specific tour is awful. First off, we show up for our bus tour on time and the women informed me that our bus tour would be cancelled since there were not enough people signed up. Apparently, they need a minimum of 10 people signed up which is not stated anywhere and this was also during the off season, so they should be prepared for smaller turn outs. They did not give call or email us as to the chance of this change. So they moved our tour to the next day which we rearranged all of our plans to do so and were able to get out on the tour. However, we were not able to participate in the National Cemetery Tour because it happened to be the laying of the wreaths day. There were no tours being conducted on the tour. This day is a nationally marked day that happens every year and the company who rescheduled us had no idea. We basically paid 50 for the bus to leave us at the site. I disappointed with the organization and the knowledge of the operating staff for this company. The bus tour driver was phenomenal. I would call the tour company to find out all the details for you specific dates so that these miscommunications do not happen to your trip.

We thoroughly enjoyed this tour! We went to Mount Vernon and stopped in Alexandria at Christ Church where George Washington worshiped. We had plenty of time in Mount Vernon and enjoyed a great lunch at Mount Vernon Inn. Then the tour at Arlington National Cemetery was excellent. This is a good value. It was nice to see so much and travel in such a comfortable coach.
