Vancouver Trolley Hop-on Hop-off Tour

Vancouver, Canada

Vancouver’s top sights are all mapped out for you to explore at your own pace with this hop-on hop-off trolley tour. Hop aboard a San Francisco-style trolley and listen to live commentary as you pass 34 sites, including Stanley Park, Granville Island and Gastown. Your ticket can be used over two consecutive days. Take the entire tour in 2.5 hours or hop off the trolley to sightsee, shop or dine out. For stunning city panoramas, upgrade and add entry to Vancouver Lookout at Harbour Centre.

Board a classic turn-of-the-century trolley at any of the 34 stops and enjoy live commentary as you see Vancouver’s most noteworthy attractions. You can hop on and off as many times as you like for a 1-day or consecutive 2-day period. Buses run from morning till the early evening, giving you flexibility to discover the city at a pace that suits your schedule. In the summer, the route covers two loops, Green and Red, which are combined into one super loop during the winter. (See below for a full list of stops.)

Both routes begin at Canada Place, a convention center built for Expo ’86. The Green Route then travels through West End before winding through Stanley Park, 1,000 acres (400 hectares) of natural oasis. Inside the park, hop out at Brockton Point, fine examples of First Nation art, or at Prospect Point, the park’s highest vantage point for views of the Cascade Mountains and the green-tinged Lions Gate Bridge. After the park, the Green Route trolley swings by the English Bay and False Creek Ferries.

Prefer museums and city scenes? Then plan your day around the Red Loop. See the 19th-century buildings of Gastown, Vancouver’s historic cobblestoned district, and check out the vibrant district of Chinatown. Take a shopping break or grab a bite in the stylish district of Yaletown, full of boutiques and local eateries.

Or spend your lunch hour at Granville Island’s Public Market, where you’ll discover colorful stalls of baked goods, seafood, art and music. A walking tour of the island is included with your trolley ticket.

Optional Entry to Vancouver Lookout:

Upgrade your introduction to the city with a glass-elevator ride at Vancouver Lookout. Ascend 554 feet (169 meters) in 40 seconds and walk around the observation deck overlooking Vancouver, the ocean, the North Shore Mountains and Olympic Peninsula. Your ticket is valid for a full day so you can return in the evening to see the city illuminated at night.

Great way to get around the beautiful city ! The Trolley drivers were also very knowledgable and friendly. We bought the two day hop on/hop off tour plus admission to the Vancouver lookout and sat through the entire loop which took around 2 hours before hopping off at the reccommended stops.

The trolleys were 40-50 minutes apart. And they were usually full. So you end up taking a taxi in the stops you chose to explore. Not cool especially with the rain pounding on. The local provider needs to add more trolleys or sell less tickets.

Even though it rained all afternoon, we stayed on for the entire loop. Our tour host was excellent, yikes, forgot his name _br/_ shared a lot of knowledge and gave us a great overview of the city, history, major events, and sites. Highly recommend for first time visitors to the city to get an overview. We did the city sightseeing tour the next day which provided scheduled shops for pictures and lunch and found the information complimentary to the hop on-hop off.

Great way to see Vancouver. They can run late due to traffic so some patience will be required if waiting at a stop with young children.

The best way to see all there is. Some points we had to wait longer for a bus as most of the buses were full.

Excellent way to see the sites. Easy way to get around without paying for a lot of taxi's. Very informative too.

Avoid this tour. The trolley never shows up on time and when it does eventually come it is so packed with people no one else can board. Instead of bringing another trolley online to enable all paying passengers to board, the driver just says you should buy a ticket in the summer when more trolleys run and they stop more frequently. Well then a little advice - do NOT run your one trolley in the winter time!! I chose to walk the second day of my ticket because I could not waste valuable time waiting on an incompetent trolley service.

I bought a ticket for Christmas day and they were closed. I understand that they close on Christmas, but why did Viator sell me a ticket for that day when the business was closed. I wasted my money. I don't think even this company got paid. Viator likely just took the free money.

It was raining on the first day and the Bus got a bit steamed up, so it was a bit difficult to see out. The bus also had a problem with the doors so another bus was sent but meant the Bus was running late. Nonetheless the staff were apologetic and kept us smiling and happy.. The second day we hopped on and off as we wanted and enjoyed the two days. The guides were knowledgeable and entertaining and gave a good account of the city past and present. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

Its worth getting the two day pass as there is lots to see. It can be a bit hit and miss with the drivers. Some were very friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable. Others less so.

There are 2 trolley tours in downtown. This tour was not that great since the frequency between buses were often more than 30-40 minutes or more. While waiting for this trolley, we could easily fine 2-3 trolleys for the other tour come by. If I had known I would have taken the other trolley tour.

Fantastic way to get around Vancouver. Every trolley we took was different and loved the atmosphere of it. Would suggest padded seat covers on bench style seating._br/_ Very informative and entertaining drivers.

We booked the 2 day ticket with free entry to the Vancouver lookout. Exceptional value and we were able to see all that Vancouver had to offer. The drivers were knowledgeable and entertaining.

Very nice trip. Too many hop on off operators made it a little confusing.

The hop on hop off trolley was average --- we spend alot of time waiting around for a trolley. When one came by, the would often be full. The trolley also has a rough ride and I found myself getting sick to my stomach. On a good note, the drivers were very informative. We were there on a busy weekend and traffic very busy so alot of sitting around as well. Would I do it again, probably not.

The trolley tour was such a disappointment! Worse hop on hop off tour we've ever experienced and we've done a lot of them around the world. The trolley was extremely uncomfortable...sometimes painful...as every bump and pothole the vehicle hit sent riders airborne out of their seats the trolley clearly needed shocks. To make matters worse, the two drivers/guides we had were hard to understand very thick accents and provided very little information and color about the city as they drove around. I typically like to find value in everything I experience while traveling, but outside of enjoying two very nice couples we met while on this tour, I wish I had back the almost three hours we wasted on this tour to have enjoyed Vancouver another way.

The 1st bus arrived my hotel on time. However, when I hopped off at Dr. Sun's garden and tried to catch the 2nd bus back, it was 16 minutes late. Because I came back the bus stop at least 5 minutes earlier than the scheduled time which I think everyone would do the same, I ended up waiting more than 20 minutes in a cold rainy weather. Although I understand that the rain might be the reason, the company can do better by schedule a different stop time if the bus would not be on time in the winter months, when it rains all the time. Visitors should be aware of this and should not leave the bus stop before it comes.

Excellent value for money, included free ferry trip to Granville Island. We did the full loop of both tours on the first day and used it as a hop on - hop off service to go where we wanted on day two. There was a stop right outside our hotel on Robson Street which is great for shopping. We stopped off in Stanley Park, Gastown, Granville Island and Chinatown which all lived up to our expectations in terms of sghtseeing things to do, bars and restaurants. Vancouver is a truly fabulous City and the Trolley Tour is a great way to see it.

It was on 0ctober 10th, and the bus simply did not show up at Stanley Park , aquarium and Totem Pole stops, for 3 consecutive scheduled appearences, so we gave up and went by bus to others points of interest. It was a shame, we lost the money, we lost half a day in Vancouver! Only recorded messages at the office. Outrageous.

I chose this excursion for our first day in Vancouver on a 3-day trip. It was a great opportunity to get an overview of the city. We hopped off at a few places and we never waited very long when we were ready to get back on the trolley. There is another hop on hop off tour available, but really think this one the trolley has better routing with it's red and green lines. You are able to see so much more!

It was nice to have live commentary and a guide you could converse with, as opposed to the earphone type commentary. Very informative and timely schedule.

We purchased a two day pass. The first driver was very informative and clearly enjoyed what he was doing however, he was difficult to understand his Asian accent. The next driver was ill prepared for his tour. I had to ask him if he had a microphone to use. Very disappointing trip, and I usually love these trolleys.

Excellent way to get an overview of the town, we rode the trolley the first day for the full circuit, and then the 2nd day jumped on and off 5 different times.

While the routes they covered were good, the trolleys were small and were often late. On the Stanley Park loop, we were passing people by because we were full. The driver said the waiting passengers wouldn't have to wait long for the next trolley because she was really late from her earlier run. The next day, we noticed that that the second Stanley Park loop, scheduled to arrive at 9:20, had not arrived by the time our City loop trolley came by at 9:30. The drivers didn't seem terribly interested in providing commentary. There was an Oh, yeah, there's such and such on our left kind of delivery. Two of our drivers had very strong accents and were difficult to understand. On our first run, we accidentally hopped on the competitor's bus. While their commentary was canned pre-recorded, it was clear, easy to hear, and informative.

Hop On Hop Offs are always a great way to see a city and the Vancouver Trolley was no exception. There are two routes - a Park Route and a City Route and they were both good. The Park route includes Stanley Park and Granville Island while the City route is a great way to get your bearings in the city._br/_ Would definitely recommend this tour.

We had 3 great tour guides. We took the park tour and then the city tour. It was a nice way to see Vancouver. It was also a nice way to get to Granville Island and go to the market. After getting off at the market, we finished the city tour. It was well worth the time and money!

Great way to see Vancouver if visiting with limited time! One day ticket was good for 24 hours from initial use which ended up giving us two separate days to use it. This was very helpful, since the final pickup from some locations was at 4:45 in the afternoon. Overall, great deal

Our favorite activity when visiting a new city is seek out a HOHO. It is the best way to see the best of the city in the least amount of time. Then we have the opportunity to jump off and explore some sections more deeply if desired. _br/_ Vancouver's HOHO covered a lot of territory - it allowed us the time desired to explore Stanley Park, Granville Island, and the Gastown. We just ran out of time to explore other areas of the city,

The hop on hop off doesn't come every 20 minutes as claimed. We waited 40 minutes or more in Vancouver Chinatown.

Incredible value and a way to get to know the city layout quickly. Plus the narrative gives great background for every sight, location. Can't say enough about the great orientation these hop on off tours provide. The driver went above and beyond to assist in any request.
