Great day kayaking. There was a bit of instruction to start with. We had never worn spray skirts while kayaking before. Had hoped for single person kayaks, but we accepted the tandem ones and enjoyed the day. Finally saw some Hector dolphins toward the end of the day. Got lucky with the weather and had very little wind. Tour guide Graviel sp? was very knowledgeable.

10 minute walk thru the charming town from where our tender from the cruise ship dropped us. It was a perfect day after 4 days of wind, rain and cold on the journey from Australia and the southern part of the South Island. Were greeted by Ali and Greville, filled out forms , got some instruction and were on our way. Everything was done very professionally with excellent equipment. This wonderful husband and wife team were quite knowledgable about the geology the harbor is a water filled crater of the area and wildlife and answered all our questions. The trip was very relaxed - we were with about 4 other couples all in double kayaks and made for the most pleasant time. As an aside, we went to the Trading Rooms for a seafood lunch and we highly recommend.
