What a nice way to spend our morning in this beautiful city. We met our guide at the top of the mountain after taking the funicular own expense. She was very nice and relaxed and asked what level of hike we would like to do. All of us friends seven adults, average age 40 years old were the only ones on the tour so we were able to select what we wanted. After choosing to do an intermediate hike, our guide led the way. We had perfect weather and during the entire time, our guide made sure we were ok, and even had water and a snack for us when we reached a point where we rested and took amazing pictures. She was knowledgeable of the area, fun and very relaxed. Our tour ended at a lake where we were able to go canoeing at no extra cost. From there we decided to walk down to the bottom rather than taking the funicular back. It was definitely intermediate level all around just because of the length and some of the terrain and you should definitely be prepared for whatever weather you are expecting. We had unusual sunny skies and dry weather, but apparently that is out of the norm for Bergen. Regardless, this is well worth it and if you are not in shape, ask for a beginner hike! Enjoy!

We arrived for our hike up Mount Floyen and found that our family and the guide would be the entire group. That ended up being perfect. We were able to talk instead of get talked to. Our guide was very friendly and knew a lot of Bergen's history and of the culture of Norway. She even brought Norwegian chocolate bars and water so we could have a snack on the top. We hated to see our hike end. This is a great way to see nature up close and to see great views of Bergen!

You can do this on your own, but for the price, I enjoyed the companionship of our excellent guide. He showed us around the park and took some great pictures for us.
