Dublin Traditional Irish Music Pub Crawl

Dublin, Ireland

Discover Dublin's traditional pubs and wonderful Irish music on this 2.5-hour pub crawl through historic Temple Bar. Led by two talented professional musicians, you'll visit famous pubs and bars, and hear the story of Irish music and its influences on contemporary world music. Irish pubs and traditional Irish music - it's the perfect match!

The Irish pub remains the social focus of Irish culture and is one of Ireland's most popular attractions. While most cities around the world boast of at least one offspring of Celtic drinking culture, the original Irish pub remains a rare commodity. On this entertaining musical pub crawl you'll visit authentic establishments in the heart of Dublin.

Temple Bar is a hive of activity where artists, designers and young entrepreneurs have set up small art galleries, cafes, theaters and colorful shops. The pedestrianized streets allow you to walk freely through the narrow cobbled alleys running close to the banks of the River Liffey.

Dublin Traditional Irish Music Pub Crawl includes at least 2 of the following famous Irish bars:

  • Oliver St. John Gogarty's
  • The Ha'penny Bridge Inn
  • Isoldes Tower
  • The Chancery
  • The Legal Eagle
  • The Palace Bar
All pubs are located in close proximity to each other. It is recommended to wear comfortable walking shoes. All pubs in Ireland are non-smoking.

On my very first night in Dublin, I did this tour. There was over 60 of us in total walking from bar to bar. The musicians were excellent and great story tellers ...they had us all laughing all night....Met people from all over the world...what a better environment to do this than in a bar in Dublin with the locals singing and chanting... It was also great that we had our own private space in every bar..as most bars in Temple Bar were all packed...Highly recommend this tour

Highly recommend this! One of the highlights we experienced in Dublin. Two great, funny and musically talented guys had us singing along. We visited 3 great pubs and my husband even made his Irish debut by playing and singing a song! Marilyn and John Lawrie, South Africa

This tour was enjoyable in a low key way. We were expecting a bit more lively music and mixing with locals but the group was segregated away from the crowds. While that was nice to have an area to ourselves, it was very low key. The musicians were enjoyable but very low key folk music. I would do it again though.

The musical pub crawl was a unique experience where not only did we get to visit three different bars, but we also got a window into Irish culture. We learned about the history of sessions and how Irish musicians come up with their lyrics. Our musicians were fun, witty, and knowledgeable. Also, Andy looks exactly like Colin Farrell so be sure to take a picture! This is a must-see experience and I would recommend this to anyone visiting Dublin who wants to hear great music and learn about Irish culture.

Fun time in private rooms listening to Irish music. It was 2 guys playing traditional instruments and singing, not full bands. Fun!!

I don't remember our guide's names unfortunately, but they were superb. they were funny, entertaining and excellent musicians. They allowed my 18 yo daughter, who is a champion Irish dancer, to get up and dance a slip jig and a treble reel. They helped make her dreams come true to dance to traditional music in an Irish pub. The pubs were excellent too. keep in mind if you book this tour, that there is a lengthy walk to the north side of Dublin so wear comfortable shoes and pack for rain.

Holy cow this was awesome! Brenda and Steve walked us us to a local pub with a separate room upstairs with a bar for a private class/concert/sing along and we had a blast. Our tour included a dinner so we went to the dinner show were they played again and brought in an Irish dancer who was fabulous. Food was excellent, atmosphere was great and we would do this again.

This tour was the best thing we did in Dublin! We had two musicians as our guides, a guitar and a fiddle player. They were absolutely amazing! So talented. We learned so much about Irish music and instruments. We will definitely do this tour again if we return to Dublin.

Was a great experience. We sat in 3 different pubs with the musicians accompanying us to each of the pubs. There was time for ordering, drinking and sitting at each pub. It was great for those who want to see different pubs and hear great Irish music.

The Irish Music Pub Tour was great! The two entertainers were fun, lively and talented. It would have been nicer to be able to purchase the dinner version of the tour, or at least be better able to order some pub food easily during the performance, otherwise 5-star!

This was a great tour and a lot of fun. We did two pubs, so there wasnt much crawling, but the music was outstanding. The stories about the songs were great and the two musicians were both super talented and very fun.

This tour was exactly what we booked! Bypassed the touristy places. Learned about local history as well as Irish music. Tried and got hooked on Guinness! Great guides and great musicians!

Finding the meeting point required the kindness of several strangers. I would perhaps suggest a better place to meet. Our musicians were very nice, engaging and we heard some nice authentic Irish music. Unfortunately we had spent the earlier part of the day at Jameson Distellery and Guinness Storehouse. We were tired and our livers were worn out by the time the pub crawl started at 7:30 pm. There were 2 pubs planned and when we finished at the first one at around 9 pm, we opted out of the 2nd pub. All in all, we did like the tour.

The information about the Irish music and instruments was interesting, but the musicians and music were lackluster and not highly professional...they didn't seem connected at all. It was as if this was the first time they had performed together!_br/_ Our disinterest resulted in our group of 8, leaving after the first performance. We were also disappointed in the fact that the first bar was just one to gather in...not for entertainment.

It was a joyous evening with proper Irish music. We gained more knowledge of the people and customs of Ireland through the music than any other venue. We listened to fascinating stories, laughed at jokes and sang along. The beer was terrific but the music was outstanding and the dinner was so good! An Irish dancer joined the musicians in the restaurant and what a treat that was. One can't get any closer to the local customs than this. It was more about the traditional music than it was the drinking but being acquainted with some of the local pubs was great because we went back for lunch and beer.

Fan de musique traditionnelle un must... Les musiciens explique les paroles et pendant l'écoute vous dégustez une pinte de bière irlandaise.

A fun night out! Listening to the artists in private rooms was really special. The guides were funny, typical Irish wit. I would generally recommend the tour for all ages, but during the open mic portion one guest sang a risqué song that I would not recommend for kids. Other than that, the night was great fun! We had a mixed group of international tourists. There is some walking involved so I would not recommend heels.

This was the perfect way to start my Dublin trip. I arrived at my Airbnb at 5:30pm and had enough time to drop off my luggage, grab dinner, and walk to the starting location. I was traveling alone so this was such an easy way to get into the groove of the city without having to get my bearings or plan an evening of fun quickly. The tour guides were extremely knowledgeable and funny and I felt like I had an in in rooms of pubs I wouldn't have entered otherwise. The music was fantastic and a friend of the guides who does Irish dancing even popped in briefly to give us a demonstration. Plus towards the end the guides told us about several other pubs were we could find live music and sessions every night of the week, which is what I happily ended up doing every other evening. You feel like you're part of something special when you sit with a pint and listen to a session, even if everyone knows you're a tourist.

LOVED every minute of this very personal and intimate Pub Crawl!! They play in a very quiet acoustic setting and teach you a lot of Irish music, heritage and culture. Plus there's a ton of audience participation. If you're not looking for the obnoxious pub crawls with a bunch of drunks but instead looking for something that is calm, educational, fun and simply beautiful music, this is the pub crawl for you! Highly, highly recommend it!

Tremendous evening. So much fun, entertaining, and informative. The 2 musicians explained, demonstrated, and entertained so well throughout the evening involving 2 pubs. We know have a much better understanding of Irish session music.

There's only one way to spend your first night in Dublin: a Pub Crawl! After traveling all night and getting little rest, the first day of arrival in Dublin is a loooong day. However, I always love to spend the first day acclimating myself to the city and its sights - and then spend an evening of fun, drink, and song! The Pub Crawl, which starts out in the Temple Bar district, is a very touristy thing to do - but, hey, we're tourists. There's usually a collection of visitors from everywhere gathered together by a couple of musicians who tell great Irish stories, play music, explain customs - while visiting a couple local pubs. Slainte! A perfect begining to touring Ireland - and a guarantee for a great first night's sleep!
