The hike up the volcano felt a little bit rushed, and I didn't realize I would need cash for the hot springs--the lockers were not included, which I thought they were. The hot springs themselves were ok, but overall the location and staff made it feel a bit too much of a tourist trap to be enjoyable or relaxing.

The Arenal volcano part of the guided tour was superb. Very informative guide and an interesting hike up to the viewpoint._br/_ We did the Tabacon hot springs as they were highly recommended based on reviews on Viator and Trip Advisor. That part of the tour felt rushed. Although the hot springs were wonderful at night, we felt that there wasn't enough time to enjoy the springs, change and do the buffet dinner before the driver came to pick us up. The buffet dinner was average at best._br/_ So all in all this tour was pretty good, but maybe not the best value for money.

The volcano hike was nice and scenic, even though it rained the whole time, but the hot springs gets kind of boring after two hours. Also, bring cash to the hot springs--everything is not pre-paid.

I gave this 3 stars because the hike was great and very educational! The hot springs was actually in my opinion overrated. Most of the money go towards your ticket to the hot springs. We went to Baldi Hot Springs and it was big and fancy and had a lot of different thermal pools but it was too crowded for me. Everything there was also very over priced, drinks, gifts etc and did not match in value for what you were getting. So in conclusion, please do the hike and get that amazing experience with wonderful picture opportunities but skip the hot springs, or do one of the free hot springs if you want to experience it.

This tour was awesome!! Though we couldn't hike to the top based on government regulations, it was awesome. The hike was moderate and started off very flat. Our tour guide Roy would stop several times on the path to show us different plants/trees and also to show us the new vegetation that grew after the volcano erupted. He was great! Highly recommend him for more tours and hope to see him again soon. :)
