Totally awesome experience! First time in a helicopter. The pilot was great! Sean described all the various scenery well. He was very polite. i loved the seeing the flowing lava and the waterfalls were beautiful.

Amazing flight. We had the doors off and while there was no big eruptions during our time, you could certainly feel the heat of the volcano below. We flew really close to the crater and you could see the hot lava bubbling. Our pilot flew over the old lava flows going down the mountain into the ocean. All the activity that has happened in the past was amazing to see it all first hand and from above was awesome. We flew over the waterfalls on our way back to the helipad. Fantastic experience that we would not get to have in New Zealand. Recommend to all. Great 45 minutes of our holiday. Doors off a must, well worth it.

The ride was nice, but it's hit or miss with lava flowing. Don't expect to see lava bubbling out of the ground. The pilot was knowledgeable and gave us plenty of photo opps. The waterfall portion was not that impressive because you are high above the waterfalls so you can't experience their real beauty.

Great trip, but unfortunately volcanic activity differs from the spectacular photos of red hot bubbling out of craters that you see on documentaries etc., but definitely the best way to see the volcanoes of the Big Island. Great company, good trip...

Wow! would strongly recommend doing this. The trip was very well organised and our pilot was very knowledgeable and clearly loves his job. Fantastic view of the lava in the crater and we were lucky enough to see lava on the surface and going into the ocean. The waterfalls was an added bonus.

We took a four passenger helicopter tour and flew over coffee farms, waterfalls, active volcano craters, and saw the lava flow into the ocean. Our pilot pointed out everything and really took us low. The cascading waterfalls from the air was really awesome.

Great trip loved flying over the volcano the best way to see it, the pilot was very good with commentary and circled several times so we all got a great views of the crater and the lava flowing into the sea, the views of the water falls was OK but not spectacular

Unfortunately our time slot was given to a group from the cruise ship as they have priority for those time slots I guess since they have a limited time in port. I had booked several months in advance. The folks who had our time slot got their tour. Ours was called off due to weather.

I liked the smaller helicopters because one can zoom around like a sports car. Also, each side can have doors off, so opportunity for great pictures and actually feel the heat from the volcanos. We went to several Viatar excursions this trip and the helicopter ride was definitely the best.

This was an amazing trip! The pilot flew us over Kīlauea and to areas of active lava flow, which made for great pictures! He also took us down to where the lava met the ocean. He told us about the volcano and the many eruptions that have occurred. He was very knowledgeable. Next, he took us to fly over the Rainbow Falls, which was really pretty. In all locations, the pilot made sure that both sides of the helicopter got to see the sites. The only caution I would give is, if you get air sick, make sure you let the pilot know. The corkscrew turns to get pictures of the sites can make you pretty sick. But I wouldn't let that stop you from taking the trip!
