Stonehenge, Windsor Castle, Bath, Including Pub Lunch in Medieval Village of Lacock

Stonehenge, Windsor Castle, Bath, Including Pub Lunch in Medieval Village of Lacock

London, United Kingdom

Explore the beautiful scenery of the English countryside on this full-day tour of Windsor Castle, Stonehenge, Lacock and Bath. Head to Windsor Castle, home of the British Royal Family, and explore St George's Chapel and the State Apartments. Continue onward to the 5,000-year-old prehistoric site of Stonehenge with a guide, and ponder over its use in centuries past. Visit the charming English village of Lacock for a traditional pub lunch, and finally, enjoy a coach tour of Georgian city of Bath as well as a short walking tour.

Start with a pickup in central London, and travel out of the city to visit majestic Windsor Castle. Be one of the first visitors of the day, and beat the crowds as you explore the elegant State Apartments and St George’s Chapel with your guide. The castle is one of the Queen’s weekend retreats, and is the perfect place to experience some 900 years of pageantry at your own pace.

Continue onward to the UNESCO World Heritage site of Stonehenge, one of the most famous prehistoric monuments in the world. Stonehenge is thought to date back nearly 5,000 years, and very little is known of its origins. Was it a place of pagan sun worship? Could it have been an ancient burial ground? Decide for yourself as you explore the site.

Your next stop is the pretty village of Lacock, one of the most picturesque settings in the country. Lacock dates back to Saxon times, and has been used more recently as the setting for movies and television dramas such as Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone and the adaptation of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice. Take the weight off your feet and sit down for lunch at the George, a traditional English pub built in the 14th century. On rare occasions, when the George is closed, a carefully selected alternative pub may be visited for lunch instead.

Continue to your final stop in the charming Georgian city of Bath, once home to the famous British author Jane Austen. Start the visit with a coach tour of the city, and see top Bath attractions such as Pulteney Bridge and the Royal Crescent as well as the honey-colored Georgian architecture for which the city is famed. After getting your bearings, set off on a short stroll with your guide and scout out the Roman Baths and beautiful Bath Abbey. Walk around the city’s cobbled streets, shop for souvenirs and take time to pose for photos in front of the beautiful buildings.

Please note: on busy days, this tour may operate in reverse order and visit Bath first.

We had a great time on our tour. Our guide and driver were very knowledgeable and helpful. It was our first day in England, so we were a bit lost. The pub lunch was delicious. It was a very hot and the bus was very cold, so bring a sweater. My only problem came when having to wait nearly an hour to get in to Windsor Castle. Once we got in it was great!

If you have a limited amount of time and want to see some important major attractions, this is perfect!_br/_ Especially, with the right guide. Ours had a wealth of knowledge-!invaluable. You will have a limited time at each site, so prioritize and dont dally.

If you’ve limited time in the UK this is a great way to see a lot. If you have more time split it up. Very rushed. Guide and driver were excellent and the pub lunch was worth it. It should be noted that you need to look at your ticket closely as Viator is a vendor, not the operator which caused stress at the very busy bus terminal at the outset.

Being able to see these places was great. But the time given is too short. Visiting Windsor Castle was a treat, but by the time we finally got through the line and in we had very limited time. it would be fine if there wasn't two of the most important sights to see. I could have skipped Bath completely just to see more of Windsor. Lunch in Lacock was good and seeing some of the

We were looking forward to seeing the sights. I called ahead of time to ensure we would have time to see everything. The first sign that things weren’t going to go well was when we arrived at the meeting place. The guide told us there was no bathroom on this was a twelve hour tour. The bathrooms at the station required correct change which we had to rush around to obtain. Then we approached our first stop at Windsor. The guide announced we would not have time to see the castle and the cathedral. We would have to choose. Oha nad we had to find the bathrooms because. It was two hours to the next stop. I specifically asked this question before signing up for the tour. When we approached our second stop at the city of Bath, the guide informed us if we chose to tour the Roman baths, we would not be able to see anything else. This was yet another disappointment and was not the response I received when I called before signing up for the tour. We did have plenty of time at stone henge. I think it was too many stops to really fully enjoy your visit.

We had a wonderful adventure with an absolutely fantastic guide in Julie. First stop was Windsor Castle and knowing how crowded it gets Julie made sure we arrived early so we were at the front of the line to enter. While you could spend hours here, we had about 90 minutes, which is plenty to provide a good overview--and the added bonus was watching the parade leading to the changing of the guard. Next stop was Stonehenge, which is well worth it. Plenty of time to marvel at this wonderous world heritage site. The medieval town of Bath followed and we had free time to explore this beautiful city. We then had an early dinner in the town of Lacock--at a 14th century pub. The experience was delightful, the food just average. We arrived back in London around 9pm--overall a fantastic day that my daughter and I highly recommend--and ask for Julie!

The trip was great. Our tour guide, Leon, was terrific! He was highly knowledgeable and made the entire trip very interesting. We also had a great bus driver, Andreas. I highly recommend Viator Tours.

Overall, I enjoyed the tour, but we were on a very tight timeframe. I recognize that we're trying to do 3 things in one, but there all major sites. Perhaps only group them by 2's (Windsor and Stonehenge or Stonehenge and Bath or Windsor and Bath) to allow people more time at each stop?

Was a great day out seeing the London country side. Our driver and guide Abdul and Leon were incredible. I was entertained all day even if it was a long day out. Would gladly do it again!

The tour, guide and the sight seeing were good, but here is the kicker... Please know this before booking!!! The total tour is 12 hours in duration and the distance between the destination are far apart and will spend close to 8 hours on the coach bus napping, which I found was a waste of time. And when we got to the destination, it was rushed to the point we were running everywhere.

Tour was great. On,y disappointment was that it seems too much is crammed into one day. Not enough time to really enjoy Windsor and Bath. Would recommend!

At Stonehenge we didn't have much time to visit. We weren't able to go to Windsor but the tour guide took us elsewhere in lieu of it. Bath was a quaint town as well as Lacock where we had a decent meal at the pub. Lacock is very small but so trusting of even tourists that two people had either lavendar sachets or delicious sweets for sale right outside their homes no one was monitoring if money was left, but there was also money paid and untouched! I love the honesty policy and it works there!

The sites were great, but the tour felt very rushed, particularly as the day went on. No where near enough time in Bath, and lunch was extremely late in the day around 3pm. Be prepared with snacks, or buy some in Windsor before you leave.

Comfortable bus tour taking us out into the countryside. Windsor visit was exactly what we hoped it would be. Quick tour of the castle and the chapel. Stonehenge is a great experience. Bath was the surprise as that was not on my original list of places to see in England but it turned out to be one of my family's favorite spots. The Lacock meal was average but it did provide a stop in a picturesque medieval village.

My wife and I took the tour on 22/5/2018.It was our first tour with Viator. Our tour guide Steve M was great and full of information. The couch driver was very friendly and helpful too. The only complaints we had were that the lunch could have been arranged much earlier at Lacook instead of touring at Bath first before heading for Lacook. The lunch at Lacook was around 3.00pm and by then everyone was very hungry. The air-conditioning at upper deck of Premier Couch was poorly ventilated and that made the ride uncomfortable._br/_ Other than the above complaints, the your was great and memorable. _br/_ BS Chua

Completed this tour on April 28th and it exceeded every possible expectation! The guide and bus drive were amazing in keeping us informed and on schedule. We visited Windsor Castle, Bath, Lunch and Stonehenge in that order. It was an action packed day that helped us to see as much as we could. While enjoying every moment of the trip, I wish we could have had more time at Windsor Castle, but plan on visiting again and doing that as an individual tour. I highly recommend not only this tour, but anything Viator has to offer. An exceptionally well done tour.

This was a long day. We took our 21 and 19 year old daughters. We have been to Stonehenge and wanted them to see this. As always great experience. Windsor Castle first time, will go back again, didn't know about the changing of the guards and was a treat as it wasn't nearly as crowded as it is in London city. The lunch in Lacock....wow what a treasure of a village..and didn't know about the Harry Potter connection so our 21 year old is such a fan and this was a surprise. BATH - could have done without...Suzanne our tour guard...the greatest, the driver the best...this is the tour that had the event of 1 passenger not being on time to catch the bus in Bath to head home. Suzanne made it clear that we needed to be on time back at the bus or we find a way home...everyone adhered to this and went smoothly, but at the end of the day we were ready to head home as it was over a 12 hour day out and about. We had to go back to get her as she lost track of time...something that needs to be addressed for future tours. With no bathroom on the bus and wondering what we were going to do to stop, the driver had to be off the road by 10pm...a little annoying. BUT Suzanne made it work, we hit the rest stop, drivers were switched at 10 pm in London and we all did well. OVERALL, this trip was worth every penny and would do it again, minus BATH.

We thoroughly enjoyed the tour. Our guide was very informative and helpful and had a great sense of humor. We arrived at Windsor Castle before many of the other tour groups and were able to enjoy the castle grounds before it became too congested. We had sufficient time to stroll Bath and enjoyed a delicious pub lunch in Lacock. Stonehenge was most impressive. We never felt rushed at any of the venues. Would certainly recommend this tour.

Absolutely amazing trip. It was really cold when we toured but it was just such a magical day, that didn't deter us. Our tour guide was so knowledgeable about all eras of England's history that I could have listened to him talk for days. This is a must-do trip, well worth every penny, and very well organized. I can't say enough good things about it!

This was a whirlwind of an adventure. Such a wonderful and knowledgeable tour guide and great overview visits at each site. Surprisingly it did not feel rushed at all, and was really enjoyable. As a traveler who thrives in finding my own adventures, I am not normally a tour bus type, but I highly recommend this! Especially if you are short on time. Fantastic job all the way around!

Before booking this trip I read several reviews. Knowing how much they helped me, well, here is mine. This was a great tour. I suggest you take the tour that stops for lunch. Otherwise you will have to grab somethjng between sites. I have nothing but praise for our tour guide and driver. This tour is packed with several sites and varying distances between sites. Our tour guide was very informative and driver fearless on these very narrow roads. Of couse spending more time at the sites would have been nice but really impossible with the amount of ground we had to cover. My only issue was the seats in the coach so very uncomfortable. Maybe it was because of my height but it made the drive back to London pretty long. Viator will get my business wherever, whenever I might look for a tour!

A group of us booked this trip for November. We were a little worried about the fact that it was a 12 hour day but we all did well and enjoyed ourselves very much. The bus was a double decker which was fun, its amazing to me how these buses can run on the streets of London. There was about a 2 hour drive in between each stop which gave you a chance to relax. The only problem was that you did not have much time at each location. For someone who really wants to take in everything at a place, this isnt the tour for you. We however wanted to cram in as much as we possible could so this was perfect for us. Do keep this in mind as you wont have much time to stroll and enjoy everything at length. There were several non-english speaking people who were late coming back to the bus at each stop, it became quiet frustrating but there isnt much you can do about it. Before we booked this trip I did see that someone had been left at Stonehenge so I told our group this so they knew to keep to the time limits and be mindful of when you needed to be back on the bus. It was a long day but it was well worth it, we all really felt like we got to see a lot and it was worth the price as well. Derrick was a great guide, very knowledgeable and super nice.

The trip was beautiful, but 2 things happened that complicated us: the first is that the real time to visit Winsor and Bath was very little about 1 hour. The second and most serious, is that the guide abandoned a couple of the tour in Lacock, because they were confused with the time back to the bus. This stresses us a lot, since we do not speak English very well like other people on the tour. The guide did not worry about guiding us back to the bus, especially in Bath, considering that we did not know the town, all the streets are very similar, it was night and the exit was through a different place than the entrance.

Overall it was an average tour. It was not helped by a group of people who insisted on being late at every opportunity. At the end of the day we were unable to visit the bathsat Bath due to late arrival - very disappointing. On return to London we were dropped in the middle of nowhere at night to find our way home. And the lunch - late and of poor quality. Great pub but poor food.

Wish we had had only signed up for a tour of Windsor Castle because we could not stay very long because we still had Stonehenge and Bath. It was a very long day and by the time we arrived in Bath everyone was tired and we did not really see much. Windsor Castle was beautiful and wish we could have spent more time there. We liked the Medieval Village. Tour guide was very good.

This is a fantastic tour and boy, the guide David, was the best!! I would highly recommend this trip to anyone who wants to spend a day learning more about the rich English heritage._br/_ My only caveat is, a lot has been crammed into one day. The Windsor Castle tour in itself needs a few hours, there is just so much to absorb at that one location. The same for the town of Bath. Regardless, this was a great introduction to these amazing sights.
