Great day trip, top sites - would have loved more time in Valaparaiso to explore, however were wheeled into a pre-determined, over priced lunch.

Disappointing tour. We had only one shot to see Valparaiso due to our tight schedule so we booked the tour to ensure we were able to see everything we wanted to see. We booked through Viator but our hotel wasn't one of the hotels on the drop down. We manually put the hotel in but never received confirmation that we would be picked up from the hotel. The night before our tour we had to ask our hotel to call the tour's emergency number to confirm that we were actually going to be picked up.

Our tour guide did an excellent job showing us around Valparaiso and Vina Del Mar. He provided a lot of interesting history and background on the tour as well.

Unfortunately, I cannot recommended this trip, it is not worth the cost of the ticket. The guide was not particularly knowledgable, easy to understand or engaging, it was basically an overpriced car service.

We had a private tour, as there weren't any other guests signed up, and although that can be awkward all around in having to keep up conversation, guide Claudio and driver Angelica were friendly and patient and interested. 1st stop out of Santiago was Verramonte winery, which was a nice break on the drive before heading to Valparaiso. You get a good sense of Valparaiso, famous for street art and hills before Vina del Mar. I'd prefer to spend more time in Vina, but not sure how to cut it logistically. Lunch stop is at a good quality sit-down with a view of the sea.

Tour was very insteresting. Our guide did a really great job guiding us in the history of Vaparaíso with a very nice walk tour in the historical center. Though it was not a tour for any person elderly and kids would have difficulty me and my mom managed to complete it and it was worth. What we missed was a stop for a lunch. Could be a quick stop in a buffet, for only 30 minurtes to seat in a restaurant, drink, eat and breath. We managed to eat an empada in the historical center which was very nice too, but would have been good to have had lunch.

We had a great day trip with our guide Claudio. We learned a lot and got to see a lot for the short amount of time spent in Valparaiso and Vina Del Mar. Claudio was very knowledgeable of the area and kept giving us bits of history which I enjoyed as I love history. I was happy we were able to visit Pablo Neruda's house in Valparaiso, we got there just before the crowd starting coming. We also had a chance to ride a finicular which is definitely a must. The weather was gloomy so we did not enjoy much time on the beach of Vina del Mar but the lunch recommendation there was great. We loved our lunch at Chez Gerald. If you are pressed for time, I'd recommend this tour to get to know Valparaiso and Vina Del Mar. Another perk is the stop at a vineyard on the ride from Santiago to Valaparaiso. Wine was good and our guide took great pictures.
