One of the best wine tours I've been on. Our guide was friendly, well versed in the local area and the different wines made, and had great relationships with the vineyards. The lunch was delicious, the train trip was incredibly scenic, and the bus comfortable. Would highly recommend this tour!

Excellent tour - very well organised. We visited four very good vineyards, tasting 5 quality wines in each one, with highly informative commentary by the local winemakers or their staff. The tour guide was first rate - very friendly and knowledgeable about the region, its history and the vineyards we visited. The tour was topped off with a lovely afternoon tea consisting of platter of local cheeses and a generous glass of a quality local wine. All in all a wonderful day.

I would have never guessed NZ has a wine country, but wow! Took an amazing train ride from Wellington to Martinborough. Naomi our tour guide met the group and off we go to learn and drink. We lunched in Martinborough. “We have a vegan onboard!” Inside joke. Naomi, you are amazing. Loved your tour.

We enjoyed the trip however wish the transportation could have been provided from Wellington especially since on the weekends they are working on the train tracks and you have to take a bus then a train to get to Martinborough to begin the tour. We were not given specific instructions from Viator and given incorrect instructions at the train station and almost missed our tour. The tour itself was very nice and the food was excellent.

This trip was so great. It was a great experience to see both ends of the spectrum of New Zealand wine making, since we visited a good mix of small wineries, and a larger commercial production houses. The wines were very good, and we brought some back with us to remember the excellent Pinot Noir, Sav Blanc, and Rose that were tasted. Our day had a bit of trouble because of a delay in the New Zealand train system, and half our group did not arrive on time. However, they were able to catch up to us over lunch in Martinborough. Heather was our tour guide and she was a hoot. She did a great job to heard cats and keeping the group together, even after we had all had a few samples and were feeling like talking and staying too long at each spot. I recommend this trip to anyone that wants to see the New Zealand wine country around Martinsborough, and wants to avoid having to drive or bike themselves to/from the wineries. Very reasonable, very informative, and super fun!!!

This was a lovely day and introduction to NZ wine, Our guide Naomi was just charming and well informed about the area. She made everyone comfortable and saw to our every need. The four wineries we visited were just the right number to enjoy in a single day, and I had some favorites that I will now seek out. The pace and timing of the day was just right The train ride to and from was uneventful but the scenery was beautiful. I would definitely recommend this trip for a nice day of tasting.

Great day trip ides from Wellington CBD. We've visit 4 wineries and beautiful lunch in between. After wineries visit we're back in town for look around town ship. Very flat place easy to walk around for any age.

Other reviewers mentioned how good Naomi was - and we can agree - she was fantastic. We did other win tours on this trip but this was the best. A minor hiccup is that the voucher says to present the voucher at the Wellington train station and they will give you tickets for the train - but the train station ticket office knew nothing about this. However, in true relaxed NZ style, the train conductors were totally fine about it.

Tour was fine but this isn't a very well known area when you think of New Zealand wines.. after a while, all of the wines tasted the same. Not a lot of body and not memorable. We did a wine tour in Hawks Bay, which was superb. If you really want to taste good New Zealand wines, go to Hawks Bay in the north island or Marlborough in the South Island.

A very well organised tour. Naomi, our driver/guide, was very knowledgeable and made sure we got to the vineyards etc on time without the feeling of being rushed. _br/_ The vineyards we visited were diverse and gave a very good idea of the types of grape/wine produced in the area. _br/_ The reason I picked this tour over any other was this one included everything so no need to worry about spending anything else, unless you really want another glass of wine with your lunch or wish to buy bottles from the vineyards._br/_ A totally enjoyable day out the weather was also on our side. I would recommend this to everyone.

Nice intimate group 4 in total, headed up by Jackie who was laid back, yet organized and helpful without being a control freak. Great day and no pressure to buy a good thing if you are from over the ditch and can only bring 2 bottles back in case. All wineries had top quality wine, and I've now developed a love for martinborough Riesling .
