Acapulco Shore Excursion: All-Inclusive City Sightseeing Tour and Baby Turtle Release

Acapulco, Mexico

The tour starts at your cruise ship terminal half an hour after your cruise has docked. Participate in a Baby Turtle Release ceremony with no shopping stops pushed in this excursion. See the Chapel of Peace, the high cliff divers of La Quebrada, the working class housing sectors, the rich residential area, the middle class neighborhoods, three different stops for pictures, the market, the mural of Diego Rivera and more. On this tour you will get acquainted with the best attractions Acapulco has to offer. You can select from a shared or private tour.
Free High Speed Internet at the Restaurant.

It is advised to start the tour at 8:30am. We go directly to do a Baby Turtle Release ceremony and then also visit the Mercado central and dive into the Mexican Culture. We will drive through the municipal market or you can make a stop and walk (recommended) the most important sections of it. Inside the market you will see fruits and vegetables stands, the witchcraft market part, the flower sector and the typical restaurant area.

You can then drive through the middle class neighborhoods and the main avenue, then you will take the steep streets, towards the higher part of town to see a magnificent view from the northern part of the city to learn and see the way of living and lifestyle of the working class. A guide will always be with the group explaining everything about the specific locations as well as about the Mexican lifestyle, food, religion, politics, taxes, and most of all, how to make your visit fun and memorable. You will also make a stop for pictures in magnificent place where you can enjoy a beautiful and complete view of the bay

Then you can head to the famous Chapel of Peace and the Trouyet cross perched atop the East Mountains of the bay in the heart of the exclusive and very pricey Las Brisas residential area. Once at the Chapel you will enjoy a 30 minutes guided visit by this iconic place at the highest part of observation to the bay. We recommend then head back to the Costera, to see the many famous landmarks along Acapulco bay and, if you wish, shopping for such things as silver, gold, handcrafts or whatever is your interest.

If you come to Acapulco and you don´t see the diver you have not been to Acapulco. You will then head West to see the Diving Exhibition at 1pm. The admission fee is included in your tour and so is one drink and a table from the "La Perla" Restaurant & Bar with the best possible view to the show.

After you have seen the show we will take you to see "Casa de los Vientos" once owned by Diego Rivera (most important plastic artist of Mexico and Dolores Olmedo, the famous art collector and Rivera´s muse. After being explain in full about this, one of the four last works of the "Divine" Diego Rivera, we will head west of Acapulco and to see the traditional "Viejo Acapulco", You will also stop west of the city for another great picture stop at the Del Monte Hotel

Then, you can make a stop for lunch, (not included) this will have a cost of in between $10.00 and $15.00 USD. After lunch you will head back to the cruise ship where the tour started.

Tour operator and guide was very focused on the current political situation in Mexico and spent at least 25 of the tour's narrative sharing his opinions on Mexico's political parties. Very disappointing! While the divers were fun to watch, they were more interested in selling their wares that making connections with tour participants. The best part of the tour by far was the turtle release! Participating in this simple yet significant event was worth it. However, this could have been done without all the time driving through back streets of Acapulco.

Amazing tour! Like the tour guide promised, we really saw a lot of Acapulco, the beaches, the resorts, the local markets and the cliff divers! The highlight had to be the baby turtle release! We went to the beach and they gave us two baby turtles to name and to help release into the ocean and increased their chances of survival. So special!! The owner even took video of our whole trip and posted on youtube which we could share with family and friends.

ACAPULCO 6 HOUR TOUR. This Tour was great, Jose and Beto our guides were awesome and made the experience very informative and lots of fun! My favorite part of the tour was the baby turtle release and the walking tour to the market, it was Astonishing, to say the least, particularly the witch Doctor visit. Loved the divers and the history, we never felt rush so we could experience more. Beto and Jose were very patient with all our photo taking and brought us to an amazing restaurant for lunch. I highly recommend taking any of his tours, they are great guides and will make your visit that much better which I didn't think was possible, it is amazing here. _br/_ Thank you Jose and Beto !!

It was an excellent tour. We were able to see all of the main attractions including the diving. What I liked is taking the tour in a smaller van rather than a bus. This gave Rudy the ability to show us not only the expensive homes and hotels but all aspects of Acapulco living including the huge outdoor market for fruits, vegetables, flowers, meats and fish. We did not stop, but the streets are so narrow a large bus would not be able to go through.

We learned everything there is to know about the wonderful city of Acapulco in the full day tour. It just so happens we lucked out and basically got a private tour due to a mix up with the system, but honestly it would've been just as enjoyable with others as well. Our guide was the nicest and really knew his stuff, had no problem with doing the tour in English, and really was committed to giving us the best possible experience. Would definitely recommend this tour to anyone wanting to see all the sights and sounds of this town.

We were among the first off of our cruise ship the Norwegian Pearl. Met by our driver Roman and were taken through the congested downtown area by some expert driving to our first destination to release baby turtles. We hit a manhole cover that wasn't fully in place and it hit the underside or our car. No harm done, but noticed on the way back that it was about 10 yards or so away from the exposed hole. Quite a safety hazard to say the least. The turtle release was great and we each had two sea turtles make it to the water safely. Donated a couple dollars to the charity organization running the release program, great cause. The Chapel of Peace was our next destination. We had to climb a little bit to get to the chapel and enjoyed the tremendous view of Acapulco Bay. Standing next to the cross and the two hands sculpture we heard the story how the chapel came to be. It was dedicated to the two sons of the family that owns the land, that perished in an airplane crash. The chapel is non-denominational, and welcoming to all faiths. Our next visit was to a local market that extended for a few blocks in each direction. A Diego Rivera mural was our next stop. Enjoyed his tremendous work. Took a quick visit to a condominium complex known for its great views, and took some pictures of the bay looking south. Watched the divers at La Quebrada from a restaurant/bar perch and marveled at their bravery and skill. They prayed at a chapel erected at the top prior to diving into 11 feet of water. Each diver made it and waved to let us know they were ok after coming to the surface. Our last stop was for lunch at a beachside restaurant. Very good food ordered by all. Busy place on a Sunday, but heh we are on vacation. Took us to our ship in plenty of time and picked up some local souvenirs. Highly recommend taking this tour to get a first impression of Acapulco that you won't forget and inspire you to go back for another look in the future.

Our tour was excellent. Pepe our driver and guide spoke perfect English, was very friendly, and was an excellent driver. You need a driver who is used to the traffic patterns or lack of. He stayed with us the entire time, even when walking through market areas. The itinerary was perfect. We saw many things and were able to see all walks of life in Acapulco. There were several photo opportunities. We did run out of time and were not able to visit Casa de los Vientos or the Del Monte Hotel. We prefer these small tour groups. They are more flexible.

We highly recommend the City tour with Rudy! He was very knowledgeable about Acapulco and his English was outstanding! We enjoyed seeing the marketplace, Chapel of Peace and understanding the layout of Acapulco. Rudy showed us some of the different neighborhoods and provided insights to help us compare/contrast Acapulco to the city we live in. Rudy took us to several different locations to get fabulous views of the bay and suggested a lunch restaurant on Caleta Beach that was very good.

We thoroughly enjoyed this tour. Pick up from the cruise port was seamless and there were only 6 of us in an air conditioned van. We were able to wind our way through the narrow streets and see much more of this lovely city than those in much larger vehicles. A beer while watching the cliff divers was welcome as was the opportunity to have lunch at a beach front restaurant optional. Arturo, our guide, was excellent and took pride in showing us his town. Certainly recommended.
