4-Day Deep Creek Conservation Park Walking Tour from Adelaide

Explore the beautiful and incomparable wildlife of Fleurieu Peninsula on this 4-day expedition. Walk through the natural wildlife with your guide, possibly seeing western grey kangaroos, echidnas, or some of the 100 bird species in Deep Creek Conservation Park. Your tour will include guided walks through nature, meals made from local products, wine and gin tastings, and premium accommodations.

Day 1: Adelaide to Fleurieu Coast (L, D)

Your guide will meet you and pickup you up at your centrally-located Adelaide hotel. Then, travel by bus to your first stop, McLaren Vale, a world renowned winegrowing area. Stop at a local winery, where you will be treated to a wine tasting followed by a lunch of local produce.

After lunch, travel through rich farmland and rolling hills all the way to the coast on the southern Fleurieu Peninsula. Your accommodations will be in the historic town of either Goolwa, Middleton, or Port Elliot. Once there, you will have free time to relax, stroll to the beach, or explore the area further before dinner.

Day 2: Deep Creek Conservation Park – 9km walk, grade moderate (B, L, D)

After your breakfast, your guide will pick you up by bus for the trip to Deep Creek Conservation Park for a 9-kilometer walk along the Heysen Trail that will last roughly 3 hours. During your walk, you will have time to enjoy amazing views and morning tea. This section of the trail passes through a valley of huge gum trees and native bush. Continue up to a ridge for spectacular vistas of the ocean.

Your lunch will be a picnic on the trail. Afterwards, stop by a farm-based gin distillery, where you can sample fine spirits and local produce. You will be back at your accommodations in time to rest before dinner.

Day 3: Deep Creek Conservation Park – 9km walk, grade moderate (B, L, D)

After breakfast, your guide will pick you up again for another walk through Deep Creek Conservation Park, this time for 3.5 hours. You will be walking through areas of native bush as well as the occasional, cleared pastures. Pass by the Deep Creek Waterfall, where there will be a break for morning tea. Along your walk, you will have amazing views out over the Southern Ocean to Kangaroo Island.

Lunch will be at a local restaurant, where you can indulge in locally sourced produce. You will be back at your accommodations in time to unwind before dinner.

Day 4: Fleurieu Coast to Adelaide (B)

After breakfast, you will be returned to Adelaide, where you will arrive by midday.
