Enjoy a day trip from Adelaide city visiting Mount Lofty Summit, Bridgewater Mill, Beerenberg Farm Shop and Murray Bridge Wharf. Sit back and relax as you indulge in a delicious 3-hour lunch aboard a paddle wheeler down the Murray River. Visit the Historic Hahndorf with an optional ChocoVino Experience at Hahndorf Hill Winery followed by a scenic drive through the Adelaide Hills, maybe spot a koala in wild.
Depart Adelaide’s suburbs traveling through the picturesque Adelaide Hills en route to Australia’s biggest river – The Mighty Murray.
Take a scenic drive through the Adelaide Hills, maybe spotting a koala along the way. Arrive at Wharf Road, Murray Bridge at 10:45 am for 11:00 am departure on Captain Proud for a 3 hour cruise with two course lunch. On arrival to the river township of Murray Bridge board the Paddle Wheeler ‘Captain Proud’ and depart for your 3-hour cruise, relaxing as your Captain provides an interesting commentary on the river system including Aboriginal folklore.
While you journey on the river, relax and enjoy the beauty and tranquility of the surroundings as you indulge in your 2-course lunch taking in the peaceful tranquility of the river red gums while spotting galahs, cockatoos, pelicans and kangaroos.
Return to the Wharf after the cruise at approximately 2pm and head towards the historic town of Hahndorf for a city tour.
Our day was wonderful and interesting. Our tour guide Greg and his partner were fabulous!! We enjoyed our visit to Mt. Lofty where we had a beautiful view of the area before our relaxing lunch cruise on a paddle boat on the River Murray. The chicken schnitzel was not only plentiful but delicious also!! After lunch we toured the area and stopped at many other stops along the way, including Hahndorf a beautiful German town and a stop for some delicious jams at Beerenberg. Greg was very informative and knowledgeable about the area and its history. A delightful and fun day that we highly recommend for anyone that wants to see a lot and enjoy the area.

Simply boring after one hour cruising and food...equally boring. _br/_ Didnt given enough time to spend at Handrof city which is_br/_ Such a beautiful place to spend at least one hour. _br/_ Tour guide was interested in taking us to strawberry farm, chocolate factory and_br/_ Cheese factory and we all decided not to go to cheese factory as wanted to spend more time in Handrof city. _br/_ Then rush was for chocolate factory which wasnt working and ended up just buying some chocolates.

Rudi was a super guide. Turned out to be only ones on the tour, we visited mount lofty en route to the Murray river. The paddle boat was not quite what we expected but we were pleasantly surprised by the whole trip. All followed by an hour in Hahndorf. Thanks

Excellent value. Small group of six. Tour group leader, Jessica, was professional, calm and made us feel welcome. Prompt collection from our hotel. We could not have covered so much on our own in temperatures of 100 degrees. Freshly cooked lunch on on Captain Proud highly appreciated...... as was the chilled water provided throughout the day.

Our driver Rudi was excellent: friendly, informative and flexible. Since the tour turned out to be private besides my wife and myself there were no other guests we had full flexibility to modify the standard itinerary. I would highly recommend spending more time in Adelaide itself visiting wonderful residential suburbs, driving by historic buildings and museums. Do your research before and tell the driver what to include and what to skip. The Murray River cruise itself is a little monotonous and meanders for three hours through relatively bland South Australia farmland. However we did meet a friendly local family on board and enjoyed a tasty lunch. On the way back one of the stops is a German village of Hahndorf - a touristy lineup of souvenir shops selling German soccer jerseys, lederhosen, ice cream and fudge. If the timing is right for a meal you may enjoy a typical German dinner at one of several restaurants.

Great trip! Small group, picked up from and delivered to our hotel, and tour was customised to the interests of the group and the weather! to and from the Murray River. Enjoyed the cruise, and the lunch was great especially the apple crumble!!. Would recommend trip and Roger who is a local to anyone who has not seen this area of SA. _br/_ Would recommend that Viator include mobile numbers in their bookings so drivers can contact customers.

What a great day we had. Once again we had a great driver and commentary on the history of Adelaide while we drove through the beautiful towns full of sandstone cottages and enjoying the changing hues of the autumn leaves. We met Captain Proud for our highly relaxing 3 hour lunch cruise. The boat is licensed and it was relaxing to have a drink while we learnt a bit about the beautiful Murray River and envied those lucky enough to live along it's banks. We enjoyed an amazing roast beef for lunch, or you could have had fish. Special dietary needs are catered for, as is dessert with a beautiful apple crumble or fresh fruit salad. The highlight for me was pottering around the historic charming village of Hahndorf. Can't recommend this tour highly enough.
