Cleland Wildlife Park Tour from Adelaide Including Mount Lofty Summit
Adelaide, Australia
Take a walk on the wild side and engage with some of Australia’s much-loved wildlife on a tour to Cleland Wildlife Park, just 30 minutes from Adelaide. You'll discover more than 130 species of native animals while becoming immersed in the wonders of this natural bush environment. The tour includes a koala encounter and the chance to feed kangaroos under staff supervision.
Your tour begins as you depart Adelaide for your first stop at Mount Lofty, where you can admire the panoramic view over Adelaide from the summit. At approximately 2,330 feet high (710 meters), the summit is the highest point in the Adelaide Hills and boasts uninterrupted views toward the Gulf St. Vincent.
Then continue your tour to Cleland Wildlife Park, an 86-acre (35-hectare) natural bush setting that provides an open-space environment with very few enclosures. Home to more than 130 species of Australian animals, the park is known for its management and care in the health and well being of the animals. Your entry to Cleland includes the ‘close-up’ koala experience where you can touch and photograph one the park’s koalas while under the supervision of the keepers who maintain the highest standards for their care.
As you explore the park and follow the self-discovery trails, walk among the free-roaming animals in their natural environment. See kangaroos, emus, dingoes, wallabies, Tasmanian devils and many more, and check out the wetlands where pelicans, cormorants and other water birds live. Engage with the animals as you hand-feed kangaroos, wallabies and potoroos with provided animal food, and don’t miss one of the interactive keeper talks, a great way to learn about and see the animals in action. The Ocean to Outback interpretive centre provides an opportunity to learn about South Australia’s diverse ecosystems while viewing nocturnal animals, small mammals and reptiles.
You'll arrive at Cleland Wildlife Park just before 11am and leave the park around 3pm, which gives you plenty of time to discover and walk around the park.
Enjoyed the day with an excellent guide, looked after us superbly. The park was spread out a little too much with out animals in some areas. Didnt have much time at Mount lofty, just time for aquick photo. It was rather chilly and breezy.

Sehr lohnend. Wir hatten viel Zeit mit Kängurus und Koalas. So naher Kontakt zu den Tieren ist selten und nur schwer zu finden._br/_ Die professionelle Reiseleitung bescherte uns einen einmaligen, unvergesslichen Tag.

Wonderful park. you get to see the exotic animals of Australia. Most importantly, the animals look healthy and happy. Many are not in cages. I realized my dream of holding a koala bear and fed kangaroos. I absolutely loved this trip. The tour company agreed to pick us up even though we did not stay in a hotel listed as a pick up point.

Great day out and thoroughly enjoyed being able to get so close to the animals and feed them. Unfortunately we were unable to hold the koalas as the weather had been so hot.

This is a very relaxing tour. We travelled with young children and had quality family time together. Children enjoyed feeding Kangaroos, Wallabies and other little animals very much. The driver Mike is nice and helpful.

Mike took me in spite of the fact that I was the only passenger registered and gave me the usual 5 stars VIP treatment._br/_ He also saved me lots of money.... A two ways taxi, and entrance would cost me 125 and with Mike I got a VIP pickup, basic explanations , a bottle of water and food for the animals..._br/_ More than recommended.

It was an amazing experience to interact so closely with the native animals of Australia while they roamed freely on the beautiful parkland. And our guide Marie is a very friendly person who shared with us a lot of interesting information about Adelaide, Cleland and Australia. Highly recommended! _br/_ P.S. Pack a picnic for lunch in the beautiful park

Cleland allows you to walk among some of the animals in the park and has an excellent cafe to relax in before viewing the next part of the park
