An experience not to be missed! My partner and I booked this trip through Viator- using Viator was recommended by a friend and I will definitely use it again. I had been looking on Pinterest for ideas of things to do in the Algarve and a blog I came across highly recommended kayaking along the coast and in the caves - so to Viator I went. Our morning started at 9:30am in the Albufeira marina where we checked in and chose whether to go in a double or two single kayaks - we chose singles. Our boat departed at approximately 10am and after waiting on some fog to clear we were on our way. Everyone wore life jackets and our bags and clothes were left on the boat. Once we were all in our kayaks we set off. The tour guide was in a small boat that went on ahead of us and we followed at our own pace taking time to look at the beautiful coastline as we went. After approximately 4km we stopped on a small beach for some water and a dip in the sea. Our guide took us up some cliffs to have a look at the view around us which was spectacular! (This walk was done in bare feet which was a little uncomfortable at times but it was worth it for the view). After going back to the beach we got back into our kayaks and set off to see some caves. The whole experience was amazing and extremely good values for money. The guides were also lovely. _br/_ Tips for doing this trip: _br/_ * If you suffer from lower back pain I recommend getting a double kayak - my partner found the kayaking quite painful at times. _br/_ * Cover yourself in sun cream before you head out kayaking. It’s not very practical to bring a lot of things with you in the kayak_br/_ * If you much bring your phone ensure it is in a water tight bag that will float - it can get choppy so it’s possible a phone could fall out of the kayak or get splashed_br/_ * I brought a cheap go pro with me - handy for some nice pictures_br/_ * You will be hungry afterwards - if you’re on a tight budget maybe pack a lunch, if not there are plenty of places along the marina for food_br/_ * You don’t have to be in peak fitness to do this trip - it makes the next day more bearable if you’re fit but don’t worry if you’re not as fit as you wish you were!_br/_ * Most of all enjoy the experience, it is so relaxing and peaceful and something you won’t forget.
