The Amman City tour is a check of your ‘to do list’ in Jordan's capital. Your friendly and professional driver will pick you at 10am from your hotel or agreed upon location in an air conditioned and modern full size vehicle and start your day exploring Amman. We advise comfortable clothing, walking shoes and a hat, as Amman is often referred to as an open air museum.

Your first stop will be the key site in Amman, the Citadel or Rabbath-Ammon went through numerous excavations which revealed is revealed through a timeline of History. At the Citadel Visitors Center, the driver will arrange your ticket at the visitors center, and an optional guide for hire is available at the site for a more in depth history lesson. The Citadel a blend of Roman, Byzantine and early Islamic artifacts and antiquities all nestled on one ‘Jebal or hill" . The Citadel allows for stunning views of downtown Amman, the Jordan flag, and the Roman Amphitheater which dates back to the 2nd century AD. Take your time and tour the Citadel and the many sites it has to offer. While at the Citadel, we advise a visit to the Jordan Archaeological Museum located up the hill from the entrance of the Citadel included with your entrance fee. Follow the paved street till you reach the end, the museum will be on the right hand side, full of History dated back to the Roman and Byzantine era.

Once you have finished from the Citadel, your driver will be waiting at the entrance to take you to the ‘energized’ downtown Amman and the 6,000 year old Roman Theater. Carved into a hillside, this stunning 2nd-century structure is the most notable remnant of Philadelphia, the ancient city that once stood on the site of Amman. After a tour of the Theater, you will have the option to walk or drive to the downtown souks and feel the 'buzz' of the Ammonite’s as they shop for spices, gold, fruit and more. Hungry? Just ask your driver for his favorite shawarma or falafel sandwich spot in Amman along the way.

The Amman City tour ends at the Winemaker, Jordan’s famous Wine Bar and Wine Academy created by the founder of Zumot Wines, The Zumot family began wine & spirit distribution in Jordan in 1954. At the Winemaker, you will have the chance to taste Jordan’s premium and award-winning wines at the discretion of the Wine Maker. Jordan wines are for sale and can be packed for travel. We ask that you drink responsible and the minimum age is 19 years. During the Holy Month of Ramadan and Fridays, the Winemaker is closed and will be substituted for a Tour of modern Amman, the Abdali Boulevard.
