You will meet your Petra Group tour at the Regency Hotel Lobby and depart on the bus at 7:30am with fellow travelers to start your Petra Tour. You will join others from Amman to Petra with a your group guide sharing Jordan's history along the way. The group tour to Petra includes entrance to Petra and your English speaking guide. The tour is a full day starting at 7:30am to approx 5pm, sit back and enjoy Petra-Jordan's Wonder of the World.
The Group Petra Tour is ideal experience for the solo traveler visitng Jordan or a small group that enjoys meeting new friends. You will depart from Amman to Petra via an air conditioned coach with others and your group guide will be on the bus with you to address any questions and share Jordan’s history along the way. You will have the opportunity to stop and take a break as the journey is close to a 3 hours driving time south. Once in Petra at the Petra Visitor Center, your group guide will arrange your ticket and your meeting point to start your tour into Petra. Your dedicated English speaking tour guide will lead the tour inside of Petra and arrange entrance and logistics. It is advised to stay close to your guide to capture the details of the fascinating history of the Nabateans who built the city out of rocks. You will have the opportunity to rest, eat, drink, and use the facilities while in Petra, just inform your guide. At the end of the tour, your guide will escort you to the bus for your journey back to Amman, do expect about a 3 hour journey back to Amman.
Petra itself is amazing. Well worth the visit. This tour was just transportation there, entry, and the briefest of explanations from the guide en route. There was no local guide included, even though it was advertised. Guide hustled for a tip at end of tour and was very rude when he didn't get one!

Pick-up on this tour was on time, and while we made the long 3.5 hour journey to Petra, our guide Omar kept us informed not only about Petra but also about the present day Jordan, its history and geography. Once we arrived there, he took us all the way to the end of the main trail, explaining the significance of the various landmarks that we passed by such as the Treasury, the Siq, the Theater and the Church. After that we were given a couple of hours to go off the main trail and explore on our own, while the guide waited for us at the entrance. This tour is recommended for those who do not wish to overnight in Petra and return to Amman the same day.
