Jerash Ajlun and Amman Panoramic Full Day Tour from Amman

Every Monday join a small group on a journey through time to visit Jerash one of the Decapolis cities to the north of Amman. Jerash was produced by the Romans and is a well preserved city often referred to as Pompoeii of the East. You will also visit Ajlun to visit the medieval castle built during the 12th Century.

Leave Ammam at 9am for this 8 hour tour to Jerash and Ajlun. You will see Jerash that is well preserved and from the Roman times. Here you will walk through the streets, temples (Zeus and Artemis), theaters, Arc de Triumph and Oval Plaza. Your tour will continue to the city of Ajlun to see the castle built in the 12th Century. Enjoy the stunning scenery and green north fields from its towers. There are two theories for the name of Ajlun either (iron) as there was iron material in the area or because it was built on top of a monastery after the priest name.
Continue for a panoramic tour of the city’s various mosques (King Abdullah Mosque) and churches (Coptic Orthodox Church). Passing by the historical area of Jabal Al – Webdeih famous for its different arts galleries; continue to the Rainbow Street the cradle of many of Amman’s landmarks like the head quarter of the Jordan River Foundation and the residence of King Talal. Now the Rainbow Street is popular for its side walk spaces and coffee shops. Then drive to the other side of the modern city: “Abdoun” and “Swefieh” areas. This trip will make you familiar with the contrast in infrastructure and life style from the old and traditional to the new and modern villas. Amman has many shopping malls like Taj Mall in Abdoun, and Galeria Mall in Swefieh. (Drop off only to one of these malls instead of hotel by clients’ request).
