Start your experience in the morning with a pickup from your centrally located Amman hotel. Board your air-conditioned vehicle and travel south with your private driver through the arid landscapes and mountains of Jordan.
Your destination is the Dead Sea, a vast expanse of water sitting at around 1,312 feet (400 meters) below sea level — the lowest point on Earth. Its waters have a high salt and mineral content caused by the evaporating waters of incoming rivers, so when you ‘swim’ you float! Due to these high levels of salt and minerals, the waters are known for their curative powers and their mud and minerals are used in an array of therapeutic treatments.
Book a standard tour, and when you arrive, your driver will drop you at the beachside Dead Sea Beach Rest House. Enjoy time at your leisure to relax on the sands and float in the shimmering waters. Don’t forget to recreate the classic Dead Sea pose of reading a newspaper while you bob in the waters!
Alternatively, upgrade your tour and spend time at the Dead Sea Spa Hotel where you’ll find a great range of facilities. An enjoyable trip. Swimming in the dead sea was a great experience and I enjoyed the outdoor pool at the beach house. I have to say however that the trip was a bit expensive for what it was and they could have provided a driver with a higher knowledge of English and more of a commentary enroute. I could also have done with more time at the beach house - at least an extra hour or two. All in all though - not bad.

We arrived in the last days of Ramadhan and there were very few people on the public beach or in the public swimming pools. We had the a magical time and it was easy to just float for a couple of hours. Our driver was knowledgeable and pleasant and although the tour said half a day, he let us stay as long as we wanted. I would do this trip again!

Driver was very nice, he picked us up on time, drove us to the Dead Sea and sat and waited until we were finished and then drove us back. All we paid for was for someone to drive us there and back really and we could have paid a lot less to do that elsewhere. I think this excursion is overpriced. When it says private half day tour, I think you expect more than just the transfer there and back. Dead Sea was amazing by the way but we could have paid half the price for it if we arranged our own taxi/car.

Very fun and interesting. Recommend combining this trip with a visit to the Jordon river where Jesus was baptized. It is very close.

The restaurant there was quite terrible, crowded, mass food and the smells of bad cooking kept us from eating. We left hungry. The beach was really rocky, I wish I had brought beach shoes. I could not keep upright in the water, so had to spend my time on the beach. I could have skipped this stop, and would not do it again.
