Amsterdam Hop-on Hop-off Boat Day Pass and Heineken Experience
Amsterdam, Netherlands
Go for the combo: a 24 or 48-hour Amsterdam hop-on hop-off Boat Pass and admission to the Heineken Experience. You'll find getting around Amsterdam's a breeze with your hop-on hop-off Boat Day Pass, and your visit to the Heineken Experience will reveal the tradition and craft behind one of the most famous names in brewing history!
The hop-on hop-off Boat is the ideal way to get around Amsterdam and its canals. Hop-on and off as often as you like at 7 to 9 stops (depending on the season) located near Amsterdam's major museums, attractions and shopping centers. The pass is valid 24 or 48 hours, and an on-board commentary provides interesting information about Amsterdam. The boats operate a regular service following two routes: the Blue Line and the Orange Line.
Please click on "view additional info" for the hop-on hop-off Boat map and departure times.
We did not use the canal hop on and off as much as we thought and the boats stop running early (I did not read the details) Still a nice option for getting around and it included the Heineken Experience in the price so it was still worth it. We had so much fun at the Heineken Experience. We learned a lot and it was just relaxing and at our own pace. Sampling the beer and hanging in the bar area at the end was a great way to start our afternoon. Our teenage girls even had fun.

Chris was an amazing tour guide. Nuremberg is a wonderful city and I am so pleased to have gotten the chance to explore it on your very well planned tour.

Hop on and off boat was good way to get around._br/_ Heineken Experience was interesting . After going through the various stages and floors you could go to the bar at the top of the building and have a couple of drinks. Shop of course on the way out. Couple of interactive games/events to upload to your email was fun._br/_ Missed seeing the Clydesdale horses which are used to transport beer kegs as they were on holiday._br/_ Interesting but in the same format as the Guinness Factory in Dublin

We thought this was a pretty cool tour for the money. They end up giving you about 3 beers included in your entrance price. The hop-on hop off boat was a little confusing. At first as we were not sure where to pick it up and since there are so many companies doing the same thing you have to make sure you are in the right spot to get the correct boat.

The canal cruise itself was amazing. The company running the boat not so much. We waited 45 plus minutes for a boat while other company boats arrived every 10-15 minutes. The Captain (a man of color) was fabulous. He was informative, funny and made the cruise enjoyable. I did not get his name.

All of the boats have a pre recorded list of things that you pass on your tour. Some of the boat drivers added their own commentary and details but not all of them._br/_ The boat drivers were all very helpful and courteous. Well worth doing.

The Heineken experience was excellent but beware it takes at least two hours to go through the whole thing. We totally loved it. The hop on hop off was very good. It was easy to use and the signage to find the places to hop on and off was excellent. The boat ride was very informative and told you all about the city and that's highlights. The captains were great and one was hilarious. I would definitely recommend this tour.

The hop on Hop off Boat was perfect for us to get around to the different sights. We had a short time in Amsterdam and had to see and do a lot and this made it convenient to get from one sight to another. It was nice going by boat and seeing the city in a different perspective instead of riding a bus. They explained and pointed out what we were seeing as we passed them. The only thing that was DISAPPOINTING was that their last boat was at 18:00 or 6:00 pm So we could not take advantage of it at night. The Heineken Experience was enjoyable.

Need to rate these separately._br/_ Boat - VERY hard to find the place to exchange the vouchers. We were asking our hotel, others, and nobody knew. Once we did find it, it was very easy to get on and off, very informative guides and they came fairly frequently._br/_ Heineken - Get there early as we did and while sure, its touristy, we loved it! Highly recommend. Very interesting, great tour, free beer, nice shopping. What's not to love.

It was a interesting tour history and tasting. I liked the convenience of walking straight to the front of the line why wait in lines just because you didn't do a tiny bit of planning!?. The canal boat ride is a nice way to see the city while learning about the history and culture.

The Canal Bus Hop On Hop Off is such an easy way to get around Amsterdam. Do it without getting off the first time, and get yourself orientated. It's an easy way to see Amsterdam both by water and on foot when you get off. The only slight downer was having to contend with some people who wanted to get off their face at the Heineken Experience. However, just avoid them. 4 out of 5

It was very interactive from the beginning. There was very interesting information on the brewery and the family. All staff were pleasant, helpful, courteous and very informative. It being so interactive made the experience so interesting and fun more than other tours we have been on.

This was one of the best things I did while in Amsterdam! The Hop On Hop Off option was a great way to see the city and get around to some the museums. The Heineken Experience was a great part of the trip. I was able to skip the long line outside since I bought tickets in advance. This was a great combination value. I'd recommend this package to anyone visiting Amsterdam!

It would be nice to have a 'distinctive' sign for the Canal Bus Stops that were visible from a distance.

This was good._br/_ Done this kind of thing before but this was fun._br/_ We stayed on playing on the bikes and playing around like kids._br/_ The roof top bar was great and you can stay on and eat as well.

Great way to see Amsterdam via the canals. Map provided lists the attractions . The Heineken experience was also very good , there may have been a lot of people but it was professional organised. _br/_ Definetly recommend tour. _br/_ However Need to give better instructions as to how to redeem the paper voucher for tickets. If location points are listed then people can determine which is closer to their hotel. Wasted over half hour walking back/forth.

The Heineken experience was great! The hop on hop off portion wasn and #39;t really necessary though. Most areas in Amsterdam can easily be walked to, and the canal tours are very slow and don and #39;t come very often.

Canal during the day is a must do. It and #39;s better to do a lap or two for a couple hours and then go to the Heineken experience. Heineken is also a must do. Overall great!

Even though the downtown Heineken location no longer brews the beer at this site, it was great! We enjoyed all of the tour from beginning to the end. I especially enjoyed the 3D theater in which we could feel the experience of becoming a beer through the brewing process. Great fun!

Heineken Experience is fun, and the canal buses are a fun way to get around.
Review by: Elizabeth K, May 2016
Great tour at Heineken, you need to give yourself at least 2 hours though to fully enjoy it. Boat trip was amazing and buying the joint ticket in advance costs less money than buying each ticket individually in Amsterdam. Would highly recommend.

Loved this very flexible way to tour Amsterdam and as the weather was pants a welcome refuge from the elements too. The Heineken Tour was great, interactive, fun topped off with free beers, who could ask for more, you can earn extra freebies during a fun little quiz at the bar... Nice little touches were photos posing with Heineken signs and videos signing tulips from Amsterdam very funny entertaining tour. I would definitely recommend this tour

We had a lot of difficulty getting the canal companies to recognise our voucher. We weren't able to print the voucher properly so they could only work off the email confirmation. After getting moved around a bit, including getting told to walk across town to get our tickets, we went back to the Canal stand and the lovely girl behind the counter fixed everything for us. She was very helpful and apologetic for the misunderstanding. We ended up having a great trip on the boat and the Heineken experience was a 4/5 and probably suited to the younger generation.

We were alittle confused with this tour because we thought it was a hop on/off bus but it's actually a boat....aka canal bus. It was a nice way to get from one place to the next though and gave some nice history along the way. Heineken experience was great an worth a trip. Could take up to three hours if you are really interested in it!! They also provide a free shuttle boat back to the city center and to their store which gets you a free gift!

Heineken excellent an enjoyable well organised system. We arrived before lunch and so missed queues which as we left at 1:00 pm were stretching along way back. Could be useful advice for prospective visitors. The hop on hop off worked well, but according to the info we received there were 4 possible routes, there are only 2 and we did not find the company who were headed up as the canal boats we were supposed to use another firm sorted our tickets. It wasn't a problem but could have bee frustrating had not the Dutch been so helpful

We cut short a visit to the Maritime Museum to do this. Would rather have spent more time at the museum and forgone the Heineken Experience. A couple of interesting spots, but mostly an infomercial with a free beer at the end.
