Would highly recommend this tour. City by boat is great at night. The tour guide was great and the steward kept pouring the wine. It was probably one of the most interest tours we did at night. Just to sit back, relax and watch Amsterdam go past. Seeing the house boats at night was great. Would do it again next time I go to Amsterdam.

We had a great time on this cruise. It was in December and the canals had visual art in lights by various artists. The wine and cheese were very good and the boat staff were very friendly and generous with their pours.

We had great weather for the cruise. We ate a snack beforehand based on other reviews, so the wine/cheese was enough for us for dinner. The staff could have been a little more attentive with filling up the wine glasses, but the cruise had some interesting points. My biggest complaint was how the boat was boarded. Couples were seated on either side of the table, so that each person in the couple either got the aisle seat or the window seat. We were seated on the aisle seats, and couldn't really take any photos unless we wanted to awkwardly lean over our neighbors sitting by the window. I think it would be better for everyone if each couple sat on the same side of the table - I have no problems leaning over my husband to take a photo.

Great wine, great cheese, great ride. Guide was friendly and the ride was peaceful and relaxing. Sat at a 4 seat table which was originally a lil bit of a downside but we loved our table mates so much we all went out after. Definitely recommend.

The cruise was fun and we were lucky enough to go out on a night that it didn't rain and the sky was fairly clear. The service staff were amazing making sure our wine glasses were constantly filled and they also provided some commentary during the 2 hour excursion. I didn't feel like there was enough food to sustain the two hour journey and the cruise might be better if a full meal was served instead. That being said, who knew pesto cheese existed and is fantastic?! We were also lucky enough to take the cruise during the Amsterdam Light Festival, but the cruise path did not take us through all of the exhibits which was disappointing. Overall, I would recommend this cruise in the future, but take a real canal tour cruise if you're looking for fun facts and sights.

Very nice tour with beautiful scenery and fantastic cheese and wine. The staff were friendly and helpful. Would have liked a bit more interaction with the crew possibly talking a bit more about each cheese and which wine best compliments them There is an informational pamphlet though. All and all - great cruise.

Beautiful evening tour along the canals. Good wine and cheese selection and the wine refills were plentiful. There were only two of us, so we were seated with another couple and had a delightful evening. The staff was very knowledgeable and friendly. Very glad we took this tour.

This was a great canal tour. The cheese was tasty and the wine didn't stop flowing. My boyfriend and I went as a romantic date night, but there were also groups of friends, old couples and a mom and son duo. We enjoyed this cruise and I would recommend it!

This was a very delightful group tour of Amsterdam by boat at night. The wine never did STOP flowing. We could have as much as we wanted. The Cheese that we were offered was delightful. A truly cozy experience. I would recommend this group tour to anyone visiting the Amsterdam area to get an overview of the city at night. The boat seating and table arrangements made great viewing of the city at night. The tour boat was extremely clean and the crew very courteous. They did not bother us with a bunch of needless talking over the PA system, but did point out significant points of interest.

I really enjoyed this excursion. We got to travel down the canals of Amsterdam in the evening on a glass enclosed boat having wine and cheese - what is not to love. We got some great pictures and good guides on the boat. The tour also included a evening sail by the Anne Frank house.

This was really fun. Unfortunately it was raining when we did the tour so we missed out on being able to see a lot, so I would recommend taking this tour in the summer months or on clear nights. The unlimited wine was a huge plus! Captain Robert was very entertaining and the cheese was spectacular.

The weather was kind to us on our cruise which made the whole evening a pleasure. So interesting seeing the houses lit and Amsterdam at night as you cruise around the canals. Plenty of wine was available during the cruise and one platter with 4 types of cheese with accompanying condiments along with 4 little bread rolls , nuts and bread sticks. Thoroughly enjoyed this tour. The only critisism would be kept waiting to board the canal boat for the commencement of the cruise.

This was a very good experience for us. The vessel was not crowded but nearly every seat was filled. The wines were fine as were the 4 types of cheese we sampled, The trip through the canals was wonderful and a nice complement to what we have done during the day on a previous trip to Amsterdam. The weather cooperated nicely and the Captain did a smooth job of piloting the vessel. We were surprised to see as many houseboats as we saw on the canals and the canal lighting was lovely. The time passed quickly, the wait staff was friendly, and we had a very nice evening. I'd put this in the must do category when visiting Amsterdam.

This was a great way to end our last night in Amsterdam. Everything from the customer services to the guided tour, to the views at night, this was a great tour. The cheese and wine was wonderful and they never left our wine glass empty. Will definitely do this tour again when we come back

This tour should have been great if we were hungry, but we made a mistake by eating dinner before the tour . It was hard to eat some more cheese, none the less the view was beautiful.

The cruise itself was very nice. The captain and wait staff were attentive and always made sure our glasses were full. The reason for the 3 star rating is that it was difficult to find the departure point. If we hadn't allowed plenty of time we would have missed the cruise. We were looking for the name that was on our itinerary. After walking around what we thought was the place to meet we finally asked someone who worked for a different tour company. They said That's us. We changed our name. Needless to say, we were frustrated that this information was never communicated to us. Also, the meeting point directions were vague and incomplete. Overall the evening was enjoyable, but the frustrating and stressful beginning tainted it for us.

We arrived early for the cruise, and good thing! Because it took us half an hour to find the correct spot. There are at least 3 different cruise companies with Lovers cruises in that area, and we went to all of them. None of them are labelled Holland International, like the voucher says. The company that ended up accepting the voucher was Gray Line. Exchange your viator voucher for a real ticket in the offie upstairs before going down to the boat. Because we ended up being there so late, we were seated with another couple -- not sure if they oversold or just weren't expecting their viator vouchers. They other couple was great to chat with, but the other couples definitely had a more intimate experience.

My wife and I took 2 cruises, the 1 hour daytime cruise and the candlelight wine and cheese. We enjoyed both._br/_ We had booked the candlelight cruise as part of a romantic night out, and it was. We did have to share a table with another couple, but the atmosphere was still very nice, and the wine flowed freely. The sights of the canals at night are quite different from the day, and definitely romantic._br/_ We took the day tour as a result of purchasing the I AMsterdam pass well worth the money, and we're very glad we did. The route is slightly different, and more historical facts are included on the day cruise. I wouldn't have wanted to miss either one._br/_ The only thing that kept this from 5 stars, in our opinion, is that the boats are definitely showing some age.

Cruise left from a very easy-to-access/find location, just between Amsterdam's Centraal train Station and the Grand Victoria Hotel. Really nice 2-hour loop through Amsterdam's canals. Very picturesque at night! Cheese and snacks were just fine and the wine was unlimited! We went during February and the boat was very nicely heated. 2 things I would suggest....the cruise was a little light on commentary. During two hours, only a handful of buildings/locations were described by our guide. I would have liked more information but I suppose it was better than having a guide talk non-stop through the whole thing. The other suggestion is that we had to queue outside for quite awhile. It was a very cold night and I wish the staff would have let us board earlier as opposed to waiting outside in the cold. It seemed like they had everything ready well in advance of our departure time but maybe there's some sort of rule or company policy against that. Anyway, it was a great trip overall!

Cruising the canals at night offered sites you can only see from there - the Skinny bridge lit up at night is a must see. Our hosts did not skip on the wine and cheese and we shared a table and a great conversation with new friends.

I would definitely recommend this trip, it was lovely to see the canals at night by candlelight. We did have some cheese missing from our cheeseboard and when we told the waitress I think she thought we were joking so we never got to try the fourth cheese! Not a major problem though, they are always filling your glass up with wine which was fab!

Great experience going through the canals at night, good ambience with candlelight, wine and cheese and a couple of other starters. Wine is unlimited, the cheese and snacks are not and tend to run out before the cruise is over. A little more commentary or anecdotes would help to keep interest up towards the end.
