Alternatively, seek out Anne Frank House, where the young diarist and her family hid from the Nazis. Toward the end of the tour, sit down for a drink with your guide at one of their favorite local hangouts (own expense), then return to the departure point in central Amsterdam, where your tour concludes.

The tour was a really amazing way to see the city and to see how the natives get around on bikes. Our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. We learnt a lot. He also made sure nobody was left behind and that everybody was safe. The ride was at an easy relaxed pace. I would recommend this tour wholeheartedly.

I loved this tour!! Our tour guide was great! He was funny, informative, really friendly and made the experience really worthwhile. He was also very honest about Amsterdam's interesting aspects Red Light District and Vondelpark, and offered mildly critical commentary about the city, too. I appreciated that. If you visit Amsterdam and you are physically able you simply must get on a bicycle and pedal around. Hands down, it is the best way to see the city. Do what the locals do. Listen carefully to the rules of the road in terms of bike, pedestrian and auto etiquette. That part is important. If you are older don't let that scare you off from this experience. I am 58-years-old. I took the tour with my 17-year-old daughter. I was by far the oldest person in this tour and I did just fine. Go for it!

Very fun tour. This was a really fun tour since everyone in Amsterdam rides bikes so it was fun to engage in something the locals do everyday. Our tour guide was the colonel. He is from Amsterdam so he was very knowledgeable about the city. He briefed us on where we were going to visit, the bikes, and some of the rules to follow while on the bikes. You hit various highlights along the way and stop to talk about the spots/landmarks. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who is visiting Amsterdam.

At the end of the tour we received a card saying 'I survived a bike tour in Amsterdam'. How appropriate! This is an enjoyable but not a relaxing bike tour. I would recommend this tour to those that want to experience the riding culture, see a bit more of the city and pick up on some funny tid bits our tour guide Pete, was very entertaining!. I would not recommend this tour to those that are expecting to look around as you are mostly riding on the city roads and more conscious of not getting run down by other cyclists! We went on this tour with our teenage sons aged 13 and 16. I would not recommend it for children younger than 13.

Our family of 6 loved Mike's Bikes city tour. Our guide was The Colonel who was both delightful and knowledgable about his hometown. His first emphasis was on safety-- which is a good thing since it's a little crazy to get the hang of cycling in that bike crazed city. We were paired with another family of 3 so the group wasn't too big. There were 6 kids total and the Colonel did a wonderful job of keeping them engaged. We learned a lot of history and got some great recommendations for things to do/places to eat. It was a wonderful overview of the city. Since I returned home, I've recommended Mike's Bikes to several friends who are headed to Amsterdam this summer. We recommend it highly!

Me and my husband did this tour, we really enjoyed it as our guide took us right round Amsterdam through all the districts with a bit about the history with each stop. We both cycle regularly and are 50 and 52, we had our own bikes as we were on holiday in Holland. As usual there were people of all ages doing the tour, we like the fact you can cover much more ground on a bike and have done other bike tours in Berlin and Potsdam, Budapest, Prague, Vienna and looking forward to doing Versailles soon.

Biking in Amsterdam is not easy, so we didn't expect this bike our to be like other bike tours we have booked in the past. That being said, we didn't expect to have to save our own lives every 5 seconds. Our tour guide was awful, he didn't explain any of the rules for biking in the city so we had no idea when we had the right of way and when we did not. He basically told us to follow him, dodging traffic, cars, trams, etc all on our own. My husband actually got lost during this trip because our guide basically told us to go thru 3 intersections on our own and find him 4 blocks away where he said he would be waiting for us. Since we were all trying to save our own lives, and we never stopped to check to see everyone was there people got lost. Also I think our guide was definitely on something, which is no big deal to me but when people's lives matter on how you guide them it turns into a big deal. Do not recommend doing this tour, just rent a bike and explore on your own. Not educational ,insightful, or fun.

I have been taking bike tours in a variety of big cities when traveling. This tour was from Mike's Bikes which I did both in Amsterdam and Munich. Amsterdam can seem daunting for a bike tour cars, canals, trams, bike lanes, pedestrians, but our tour guide assured us we would find it easy to follow her around. I have been to Amsterdam many times, but managed to see new things, learn some history and stay upright on the bike! I recommend, but just want to say, this is a driving with the brakes on tour, and the tour guide at lease once, led us in a direction that was counter to flow we got yelled at and a couple times wasn't careful to make sure the group could easily follow along, none the less we all survived easily and had a great time.
