Loved this cruise! We went our first night in Amsterdam and got to see so much of the city- by boat! First drink was free but there is the option to buy additional beer/wine/sodas. In July/August, the sun sets later so we picked a later tour and were very glad we did because even at 10PM it was just getting dark.

It's not a bad experience, but its not a good experience either. Main problem: the windows are tinted! For a night cruise, this makes it next to impossible to see anything. Secondly, it is crowded and the music/sound is garbled. Lastly, the boats are so low it is difficult to see anything. I understand this is the nature of being in a boat in a canal, but the seat design makes it difficult to lean to the window to try and see something.

I would tell travelers to do this when the weather is warmer outside. Its really difficult to enjoy the evening cruise with all the windows closed because it is cold outside. The glare of the glass makes it hard to see the sights around the city. It is a great cruise we just unfortunately did get the best experience because of the weather.

The canal cruise was a wonderful way to end a beautiful winter day in Amsterdam. We always try to take an Evening Cruise if available in each city we visit. The bridges are normally lit up and many times the beautiful buildings surrounding the water are also lit. _br/_ Amsterdam was a magical city. Very walkable - even in the dead of winter.

The tour was just an OK tour. The weather was not good and the ladies managing the ticket office were more concerned that we might be in the way of other customers than whether or not we were dry and warm. We are senior adults and a little compassion goes a long way. There was no live narrative and the speaker system was not working well. We should have skipped this tour!

This was a last minute I-don't-want-to-spend-a-lot-of-money booking and I believe that we probably got our money's worth. This was a bare-bones, impersonal, and basic tour. The tour centered around an acceptable audio tour of Amsterdam canals. The information provided was reasonably interesting in a formulaic sort of way. The fact that we were on a boat was insignificant and the staff was just about as disconnected with the guests as the 1/4 cup of salted peanuts on each table. I think the boat crew was just about as happy that the tour was over as were the guests. Again, this was a relatively inexpensive bare-bones tour with little to praise.

Hmmm...This was an ok tour but extremely boring, personally i couldn't wait to get off. Our driver did have a good sense of humour but you could not really see very well out of the windows and with everyone just listening to the headphones there was no atmosphere on the boat. The longest boat ride of my life considering boats are my favorite mode of transport.

This was a good cruise. We chose this as we had already done a day cruise in Amsterdam. We enjoyed ourselves, but would recommend to people that if they only have time for one cruise, do a day cruise. You see more! We received a free glass of wine or beer, got good commentary, but the dark ambient light of Amsterdam restricted vision a bit.

Amsterdam is wonderful for adults. Not for the children. Not many children around, not surprisingly. The night canal cruise was the best. It is a must when you go there. Amazing way to see the city and the Blue Boat company do it so well. Worth every penny to us.

I wouldn't recommend a tour too late when it actually gets dark as you can see the buildings clearly as they are pointed out to you. The commentaries could have give more information rather than listening to music half of the time. As the plug in for the audio commentaries are situated near the window, persons sitting at the far end of the table cannot control the audio easily.

We saw what was expected. Tape system for commentary was some what confusing, we eventually figured it out, no directions were offered. I am sure there are other tours that would be just as good, maybe more interesting or more fun. This was the Cocktail Tour Do not waste your money, buy a drink later at a real bar. Drink was one cheap glass of wine and one small container of peanuts to be shared by 4 people.

This was just an OK cruise. The boat design with closed windows did not really allow for much enjoy of the light canals. The commentary was marginal at best. No candles. Seats uncomfortable. I suggest an open boat on a nice day with hopefully good narrative would not recommend our next tour boat will be the self guided piloted boats throughout the canals which is less given the number of people in our group

The cruise itself was nice, but finding it was the most hectic part of my entire trip. I realized too late that Viator did not give me a specific location or a tour company name. According to my printout, it was in the center of Amsterdam, which I misinterpreted as being near Centraal station, and it was actually completely across town, near the museums. The only way I was even able to find it was because I asked another cruise company and the gentleman there said the only reason he knew the answer was because someone else had just asked him. Again, the cruise was lovely, but Viator was far too vague for me to book anything of the sort with them again.

The cruise was very informative, however, it wasn't a true evening cruise. It ended so early, there were no lights. I booked both a day for the sights and an evening for the lights. One would have been enough. The sun doesn't set until well after 9:30 PM.

Its a great idea to take the cruise at 8pm - so you can see the city while it is still light, then at dusk and then at night with all the lights. Its great that they include a free drink and some snacks but would be good if there were more food options as well. The audio guide was quite informative but the sound was quite tinny. An enjoyable 90 mins!

It was really great, we saw all the main sights in Amsterdam Dancing Houses, Red Light District etc., we got the drink as promised, the audio was well audible and there were many launguages to choose from even czech was included, we have learned a few interesting facts about the city, and the helmsman was very skilled and funny much funnier than the audio anyway.

Nice relaxed atmosphere, table and chairs styled like a restaurant made the difference, better than sitting on rows of benches. Waitress service was good and easy to get additional drinks if you so wish. Only one small point some of the tour narrative was silent on a few occasions, maybe a slight technical glitch, However it did not spoil the experience.
