This guided Waterland canoe tour takes you through Dutch nature and villages in Old Holland near Amsterdam, only 15 minutes from the city center. See the 'real' Dutch way of life and explore Old Holland's nature. Paddle through the village and the area's reed-lands, hear the birds singing and smell the plants surrounding you on this outdoor adventure with group size of maximum 10 adults.
Start your guided 5-hour outdoor adventure from Amsterdam with a short 15 minutes bus ride to a small Dutch village. Enjoy a beverage at a local cafe upon arrival and start our canoe tour afterwards.
Paddle through Old Holland's nature and villages, see the Dutch way of life and learn about the people in The Netherlands. You will learn about Waterland from your local guide, who will also be happy to answer all your questions. Explore the reed-lands and listen to signing birds while smelling the local plants. If the weather allows, the tour will also stop for a swim, so bring your swim gear with you!
Enjoy a picnic lunch including local products from the area you're paddling through one of the islands -- it might be a bit wet here so be prepared for your shoes to get wet and dirty.
Back at the cafe you will have time to enjoy another beverage before taking the bus back to Amsterdam where your outdoor adventure ends.

We had an amazing time canoeing through the waterlands... saw windmills, sheep and water lilies, and had a wonderful picnic with our guide. She was very knowledgeable about the area, and shared some great stories of the land and community. Highly recommended!

A wonderful tour with a very knowledgeable Dutch guide. Majel shared a wealth of information about Dutch history, culture and wetlands management. This is a very easy canoe trip on flat water all the way. Our mid-week tour consisted of 6 people, most of whom were retirement age. We saw ducklings, newborn lambs, and quaint Dutch villages. The picnic was very generous and you certainly will not walk away hungry. We will do this tour again the next time we visit Holland. Highly recommended!

In simple words 'out of this world'. I took this trip with my aunt on 15th April 2016 as last leg of our 7 days stay in Amsterdam and I must say this was the best one. We both thoroughly enjoyed the 5 hour long scenic, beautiful, full of nature canoe through the narrow bridges. The best part is the an awesome, ever smiling guide who made us feel more comfortable and enjoy it to the fullest. A 'MUST' for those who admire nature and some physical activities. Its not at all tiring nor required any previous experience. I am back with so many unforgettable memories of nature: Thank you for having such an amazing itinerary.

Loved, loved, loved this tour!! Our guide was fantastic and a bit of a celebrity- she hosted Rick Steves on his televised visit...Canals were so beautiful and we loved going under the small bridges. It was so much more scenic than the larger canals in Amsterdam proper. Picnic lunch was yummy...Can't say enough about the value and excellence of this tour!!

This is a fantastic experience- gets you out of the city in no time and is a wonderful way to learn about the history and nature of outlying amsterdam. Guide was kind, funny, and super knowledgeable, and a picnic on a marsh island before an epic downpour is not something i will soon forget. rain or shine, this adventure is certainly worth your time!
