Begin the day at 10am when your multilingual guide meets you at your hotel with a private luxury vehicle. Learn about Dutch history and the landscape you're passing through during the 20-minute drive to the working windmill village of Zaanse Schans. After you wander among the 17th-century buildings with your guide, head toward the quaint fishing village of Volendam. Admire the traditional costumes of the villagers and view the vintage fishing boats before visiting a factory for a lesson (and a taste) of Dutch cheesemaking. In your third and final stop at the village of Marken, watch a local shoemaker crafting typical wooden Dutch clogs before you're driven back to your Amsterdam hotel by 4pm.

Overall, the tour was very enjoyable. We enjoyed the countryside, watching the cheese making and wooden shoe production, seeing the windmills and learning about the Netherlands. Our guide was very personable and knowledgeable and did a great job. We loved that it was a private tour with just the six of us traveling companions. We were picked up and dropped off at our hotel and had our own mini van for transportation.

Our guide was very lively and enthusiastic. He seemed to know everyone we encountered along the way! His suggestion that we might enjoy the ferry from Volendam to Marken was a great one, as we did enjoy the ferry. The only complaint was that the vehicle he drove was a tad too tight for 4 adults. We were fairly squished in. But that did not diminish our enjoyment of the day in the Dutch countryside. It was a beautiful sunny day and absolutely gorgeous. A tour well worth the money.

We booked this trip for me, my husband, and our 7 year old son to go to Zaanse Schans and Volendam. The tour description was not exactly what we wanted but, figured it would be ok. After talking to Jaime, our guide, about we really wanted, he modified our trip a little and made it exactly what we wanted. Jaime was so friendly, so relaxed, great driver, extremely patient, flexible, and so informative. If there were 10 stars we would give him 10. He not only gave us a lot of general facts about Zaanse Schans and the other places we went but, gave us a lot of facts about The Netherlands/Dutch history and current events. Our tour was all in English also. On top of that, he helped us get skip the line tickets for a museum that our son wanted to the next day and drove us to pick them up. I would ABSOLUTELY recommend this company to anyone who wants a great, personalized tour. Thank you Jaime for a great day!
