Your guide, a local art historian, shares details of rural Holland's culture, and you can customize your itinerary to suit your tastes on this personalized tour.
Meet your personal guide on the morning of your tour at the prearranged time in front of Amsterdam's Central Station. After a short ride, you'll collect your rental bike (additional expense), and get ready to set off on your private custom bicycle tour in the countryside. There will be no city cycling on this tour.
Starting time and tour duration are flexible, with 5 hours and 16 miles (25 kilometers) as the recommended minimum for the best two-wheeled experience. Customize the day to best suit your abilities and interests as you begin biking on easy routes in the countryside. Pedal past working windmills, country estates, medieval castles, and winding rivers and canals as you tap your art-historian guide's impressive banks of knowledge about the culture and history of the area.
Let your guide know at the time of booking if you'd like to include a traditional Dutch picnic lunch, with a variety of Dutch cheeses, beverages, and bread baked from organic flour ground in a nearby windmill (additional expense).
After the bike tour, you'll return to Amsterdam's Central Station.
My husband and I went on a full day biking trip through the Dutch countryside. Our guide, Edmond, was amazing! Not only was he such a great guy, he taught us so much along the way. He tailored our biking tour to us. We biked about 40 Km, which is what I expected. We went by windmills, through small Dutch towns, past castles, past a fortress - I can't begin to remember all the sites along the way. He added a special stop for us - a visit to an old Jewish cemetery. After our visit to Anne Frank House and other Jewish sites in Amsterdam, this was an amazing place for us to visit. At various points along the tour, Edmond offered us choices regarding our route. So at the end of the day, we saw everything we wanted to see, and the biking was very appropriate for us.

We have lived in Europe and traveled back many times and this was the best tour we have ever done! It was personalized and a great price. We loved the homemade lunch and getting pictures sent to us after we arrived home. Our family is Dutch and we were even sent information about Dutch traditions. We would highly recommend this tour to everyone!!

This was truly an amazing bike tour, we got more than we paid for for sure. Edmond was extremely hospitable and very flexible in terms of Where we went. He took photos along the way and emailed them to us. He is a great historian. Our tour lasted close to 8 hours, and he saw us safely on the train at the end of the tour. I have done a great deal of tours in many countries, and I recommend a private tour with Edmond.

This was the BEST trip we had while in Holland. The guide was so knowledgeable and was prompt in meeting us. Our schedule was a bit difficult but he worked around our requests. The ride was about 3 hours with many informative stops. The pace was perfect. If there is one cycling tour you are considering, TAKE THIS ONE!

Everything, from start to finish, was seamless. Edmund was an excellent guide, prepared, informative, enthusiastic, and relaxed about customizing options for our day. My son 16 and I met Edmund at Amsterdam Central Station and went 15 minutes out of the city to the charming town of Weesp to start our adventure. The cycling was terrific. We asked Edmund to provide lunch, which was perfect, including buns made from organic flour from the windmill we visited. Edmund is a historical, and we enjoyed learning about The Netherlands! Highly recommended!
