Arthur was a fantastic guide. The tour had a great balance of types of bars small dive type, microbrewery, locals favorites. On the walks between the locations, he also filled in local history and interesting tidbits. Overall, would highly recommend!

We enjoyed all the small spots that we went to and were recommended, but we were expecting more information/history about the beer. Also, you do not get to go inside the brewery in the red light district. You go into a small tasting room and you just choose what you want to drink. Not much information about the beers overall. I would save a beer tour for some place in Brugge.

I always do a food or beer tour on my first day in a new city as it is a great way to get the lay of the land and discover new places you might not have known about. I was a bit let down on this tour. The guide, while quite friendly, spent more time chatting with the bartenders than explaining anything about beer. He did give some information about the area as we walked place to place, but it was drawn out by questions we had to ask. The 'snack' was literally shelled peanuts. If you are an independent traveler, I wouldn't recommend this tour, especially for the price of 20/beer!

The key to a good tour is the guide and our guide was OUTSTANDING!! He was knowledgeable...and had selected great bars with different types of beers for us to sample. Samples were plenty...full size beers. Loved getting a tour of Amsterdam everywhere we walked as well. Perfect to end the night near the Red Light District so we didn't have far to go. Guide really tried to find us the best match for our liking at each pub. Loved that it was only a small group....felt like a personal tour.

This tour was fun. Small group, four bars. Our guide was 45 minutes late and I ended up paying for our first round of beers at the meeting place in addition to the tour. This was was a one and done apparently the bar where joined the tour,Beer Circus, runs their own beer tastings. I would not do this again as we left another tour early to meet this tour and then waited and waited for the guide. There was an intern who had just started with the company and she was actually very accommodating.

Solid afternoon and evening. We know a bit about beer already craft beer nuts but wanted to do this to get a feel for the local scene. It also gave us an opportunity to visit one of the places on our list Beer Temple which we in fact returned to several times after the tour. Guide was great - he knew his stuff and kept things moving. Had the chance to sample 3 beers plus a snack at a serve yourself venue. And we scored a tour of the Red light districts. Worth doing!

This was an excellent tour. Only the two of us with the tour leader, so we had lots of time to talk and discuss all aspects of beer and brewing. The bars and walk were adjusted to our requirements and interest and the leader's knowledge of the beer scene in Amsterdam was outstanding. Guide Sean was great. This was an intimate group--only four of us. We started out at a pub that had a bewildering selection of beers, where we were guided in our sampling. We moved on to a place that sold home made liqueurs that were out of this world. This part we had to pay for about 3 euro. It was then on to another pub where we picked up a free souvenir, and then sampled some of their beer. We ended up in another place that brewed its own beer. These are places that you would never find on your own, so that made the circumstances even better. We had a great time--lots of beer and lots of laughs.

Best part if the tour was that we went to two obscure places. I would have rather looked up some places and skipped the tour. The guide was a chain smoking know-it-all, who gave poor insight of the history and importance of Dutch brewing. Instead he focused more on comparing to American brewing.

The tour was my self, a couple from America, and our American ex-pat tour guide, Sean. A very small group to be sure. He knew the area and history of not just beer, but Holland and the variety of native alcoholic beverages. We got to choose from a few local beers at each bar so each person could tailor the tour to their specific tastes, or be adventurous if the mood strikes. Having a light meal before the tour starts would be a good idea as you may get too effected by the drinks to fully appreciate it all by the end.

Audrey was fantastic, even after one of the guys spilled the very first beer on her, she was great. We had only 3 people on the tour and that made it awesome, so much better than a larger group, we got to know eachother and had a great time. We tried a variety of beers at different pubs and learned a lot about the local history. The best stop was for liqueurs at Wyndand Focking, a local store since the mid 1600s, hopefully it will still be there in the future since there was discussion about the owners selling to a corporation. All the pubs were at out-of-the-way places which you would never just stumble across on your vacation, you would have to know they were there to look for them. Overall a great way to spend a few hours in Amsterdam.
