You’ll be picked up from your Anaheim or Los Angeles hotel in the morning for a drive to Griffith Park, a large municipal park at the eastern end of the Santa Monica Mountains in Los Angeles' Los Feliz neighborhood. Covering 4,310 acres (1,744 hectares) of land in the expansive hills overlooking LA, this is one of the largest urban parks in the US. When you arrive, you’ll be greeted with a stellar view of the Hollywood Sign directly above you, and Los Angeles County sprawling behind you. After a brief safety orientation, hop on your horse and follow your guide on a 2-hour ride along scenic trails. Ride to the top of Mt Hollywood, the tallest peak in Griffith Park. Spot the famous domed Griffith Park Observatory, and then stop to savor jaw-dropping, sweeping 360-degree views of Los Angeles County. This is the best vantage point to admire the Hollywood Sign and the city sights! After your unforgettable ride, reminisce on your scenic experience on the drive back to your hotel. Depending on traffic conditions, total transport time to and from your hotel and Griffith Park will be between 2 and 3 hours.
It is not difficult riding as all at walking pace. The horses are calm and easy to ride. It is easier to ride than hike in Griffin park and the route takes you from the stables to the top of a hill above Griffin observatory with great views of Los Angeles. The tour includes transport from your hotel to the ranch and back which proved efficient and convenient. Overall I did not find Los Angeles to be my type of city, but this ride was worth it and enjoyable and made me like Los Angeles a bit more.

This was the surprise highlight of our LA trip. Truly a wonderful, relaxing way to slow down in a high-energy metropolis. Definitely take the 2 hour tour! Our guide name forgotten, she had blond hair, probably in 20's was very friendly and knowledgeable about the area, and was very in control of all of the horses. The horses follow each other single file up the trail to the top of the mountain, with that said, if you are looking to have involved conversation, might be difficult. The guide cycled around on her horse explaining what we were seeing and getting to know us. The horses move at a VERY gentle pace most hikers were passing us, which gives you time to enjoy the views. We went in winter so it was quite temperate if you go in spring/summer/fall make sure to bring a hat and sunblock as there isn't much shade. The view opens up at the very top of the trail and is truly worth the ride up. The horses have a lot of personality and occasional gas and were very mellow and sweet. Our guide seemed to match our personalities with our horses I'm not kidding. We didn't want our tour to end.

Horse riding was lovely, horses well behaved, however if you are scared of heights then this trip is not for you, horses walked extremely close to the edge of the hills at Cliffside, so a little scary at times. Guide was informative about Hollywood Hills and the animals/plants etc. The ride does not take you anywhere near the sign an not as close as the picture on the tour suggests, in fact it's quite a distance away. But the views were great, the ride was fantastic and if you like horses the saddles are very comfortable - you feel like a real cowboy girl.

This was the absolute highlight of our trip. I have never ridden a horse before. Our 2 guides were full of information and very helpful and fun. It is scary because the horses walk on the edge. But have faith, they know where their feet are!

Fantastic experience! Highly recommend this, horses are well behaved and you are well taken care of, especially if this your first time riding a horse. Take plenty of sun lotion, as you are in the open and hot sunshine for a good amount of time.

This was a great day! We were picked up at our hotel in Anaheim and driven up to the ranch right under the Hollywood sign! We were all assigned horses to ride, given instruction and helmets and were off on our way. The views of the Los Angeles skyline were pretty spectacular and we were able to get some great shots of the famous sign! We went on a hot day, so be sure to take water with you! Highly recommend..

What a blast! I had such a fun time on this ride. The views were absolutely amazing and our guide was great. I got some great shots of the Hollywood Sign. Experience is not necessary as the ranch hands ensure that you are paired up with a suitable horse. Sunscreen and water are definitely advised, that California sun is pretty strong!
