Travel by trolley through Earthquake Park and historic neighborhoods on this one-hour Anchorage tour. Take a comfortable seat in one of three regularly operating cable cars for sights such as seaplanes descending on Lake Spenard and Lake Hood, and moose (safely) crossing the road. Guides with family ties to the area provide unique insight into the local history and culture in Alaska's most populous city. Bonus: This budget-friendly tour comes with a complimentary coupon booklet with some $200 in travel savings.
Hop aboard a red trolley in downtown Anchorage in front of the Visitor Information Center. Trolleys leave every hour (every half hour during the summer), giving you some flexibility in your sightseeing schedule. The trolley covers 15 miles (24 km) over the course of an hour.
Pass through the city’s historic neighborhoods as your guide points out interesting trivia about the area. Along the way, watch seaplanes make splashy landings on Lake Hood and Lake Spenard, and travel through Earthquake Park where you can stare in awe at the damages caused by one of the most powerful recorded earthquakes in North American history. Over the course of four minutes, the 9.2 quake split roads, uprooted trees, and brought on a landslide that sent 75 houses into the Cook Inlet. What remains of this hilly landscape overlooking Knik Arm has been turned into a park commemorating this devastating event.
On this tour, you'll also see the historic Alaska Railroad, Westchester Lagoon and maybe even some crossing moose. Your tour ends back at the departure point. Be sure to make use of your complimentary coupon book when you explore Anchorage on your own.
Great for an overview of Anchorage especially with a short time constraints. Enthusiastic (overly?) guide.

Cheesy jokes and stories. Not a lot of sites other than earthquake related stuff. Best site was earthquake park.

OMG! If you get to take a tour with Alice, the driver we had, be prepared with a box of Kleenex from laughing so hard!!! She is an entertainer who wrote songs and could rap about the sites of Anchorage! This was probably the most amazing trolley tour I have taken! Actually, I did this same tour 2 years ago in Anchorage and that driver was great, too, which is why I wanted to do it again! But Alice has a special talent of spreading happiness and her passion for Anchorage was contagious!

The one hour Anchorage Trolley Tour was fantastic! Our Tour Guide/Driver was wonderful and she gave us so much information, some of it from her personal experience, of Anchorage, the 1964 earthquake and the surrounding areas. We would highly recommend this tour to anyone!

I originally was looking for a hop on hop off tour as we had the entire day to sight see. Unfortunately, I didn't see any and came across this tour instead. It was very informative and very well run. There were a few stopping points, but not allowed to get off and take pictures, It was fine, because most sights that we wanted to see more of, were downtown and within walking distance of the tour company. BTW, the tour starts and ends at the visitor center downtown. Make sure you go in and see what other tours are available. Everyone was very friendly and we were very happy with our tour. I would include a stopping point where we could get off and take pictures at Earthquake Park.

The Anchorage Trolley Tour was a nice way to kill some time until our room was ready. For 20 you ride in a bus painted to look like a trolley which takes you around the sites of the city. Since there's not a lot to actually see in Anchorage, the Trolley Tour is really about the great personalities of their tour guides. I'd recommend the Anchorage Trolley Tour for anyone who hasn't been to Anchorage before.

Our guide was a retired Anchorage school teacher. She provided us with a wealth of historical information on the area. This tour is perfect for those wishing to know the wonderful history of this part of Alaska.

Tour was great! Viator, however, neglected to indicate that we should check in with the operator for a particular time slot. The owner, seeing our dilemma, got another trolley on the road and we got to take a ride two hours later as the trolleys were sold out for the following two hours. Make certain you check in with operator for time slot so you don't have to wait for hours.

Very informative and a good way to see some of the city if you don't have a lot of time. The only thing that would had made it better was if it had been an on-off trolley.

The tour gives you a nice overview of the city it is not a hop on/hop off so if you see an area that you want to spend more time in you have to get your own transportation back to that spot

great way to see the city, with 24 stops to choose from. Our guide and driver was great! Though it takes longer than other offered city tours, we feel we had a good overview of Vancouver by chosing this one.

Easy way to learn some history of Anchorage. Trolley is conveniently located, easy on/off and climate controlled. The driver was very engaging...give him a 10.

This is a great tour, it takes you where your feet can't all in an hour. The Trolley driver/tour guide was very interesting. Its wonderful to pass sights and understand thru the tour guide what you are looking at, along with getting background information regarding the city._br/_ We picked up the tour outside the Visitor Center. You could buy your ticket from the trolley conductor on site, but having our voucher prepaid thru Viator, saved us line waiting and we were able to hop on the trolley without waiting in the line to purchase the ticket. I would recommend this tour, if you are visiting Anchorage.

A good introduction to Anchorage. However I do object to the commentary saying that Captain Cook discovered Alaska, New Zealand, Australia and Hawaii. There was no reference or recognition to the first peoples of these lands. This only perpetuates an incorrect view of history. Very dissappointing.

From the conductor to the guide, this was an amazing trip, In one short hour we saw so much and learned so much about the city of Anchorage and surrounding areas. Brennan was our driver and guide. His good humor and knowledge was exceptional. My only issue was seat size. For 2 adults, it was tight. But I would do it again!
