Turnagain Arm Scenic Winter Tour with Aerial Tram Ride
Anchorage, United States of America
Take a fully guided scenic drive down the Turnagain Arm from Anchorage, while learning about the history and landscape of this scenic area! We will take a beautiful ride up the Alyeska Tramway, have lunch a local eatery, and visit the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center. All of this before returning back to Anchorage!
The Seward Highway is a "National Scenic Highway", and for good reason! The Turnagain Arm looks like something from another planet, with natural ice sculptures covered in glacial silt, floating with the tide. Your knowledgeable tour guide will drive you from your hotel, down the Turnagain Arm to the aerial tram up Mt. Alyeska. At the top we will also enjoy the snow-covered decks, watching skiers and snowboarders have a blast on the famed North Face - one of the longest double black diamond runs anywhere! Another highlight is the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center. This rescue center is home to musk ox herd, wood bison herd that was once thought to be extinct, moose, an elk family, caribou herd, and more! Lunch is included at a local eatery at the base of the Chugach Mountains.
