After meeting you at your Hotel or Cruise ship we head towards the Corinth Canal making a brief stop before continuing through the olive groves & orchards to the Medieval city of Nafplion. Nestling underneath the dominating hilltop castle of Palamidi you will experience one of the jewels of Greece. Nafplion was its first capital and retains its charming Venetian quarter whch is packed with local art, craft & food shops just beside the sea where you can pick your spot for lunch with an idyllic view to the Bourtzi castle in the bay.

In Nafplio our guide will be happy to provide a brief walking tour pointing out many of the historical aspects along the way, & if you wish to explore the castle itself but prefer not to climb the 999 steps to its entrance, we will also transfer you by vehicle. After lunch we continue for several hours to reach the village of Olympia with ample time to enjoy a relaxing evening in your 5 star Hotel.

After breakfast the following day sees a short drive to the archeological site of Ancient Olympia to meet our on-site expert guide who will conduct your private tour of the extensive site & museum. Founded in the 8th century B.C. and famous as for its Olympic games of antiquity you will be guided around its extensive ruins which include the places where the original athletes were taught & trained and go through the tunnel to emerge in the stadium in which they competed. The site is still home to the Temple of Zeus and Hera where the Olympic Flame is lit, workshop of Phidias, in its modern museum displays significant masterpieces from the site.
